I commonly push the bottom knee down to the floor creating the knee shield angle as you mentioned. Great tip to change the direction slightly when you're cutting. What do you do to turn and flatten someone when it's no gi? Specifically referring to the aspect of gripping the lapel or material near your opponents ribs to turn them
This is really similar to the lucas lepri video, with the exception that you seem to have a better grip with your left hand on the knee, whereas he grips the guy's right arm.
Sir, do you also have a video about the counter for that? Where you point your knee towards the stomach first and then setup the knee cut? I find it hard to recover because first since it's a knee cut (vertically), my crotch gets hit and find it uncomfortable, makes me want to tilt my body to the side. But once I tilt my body to the side, his knee is already on the mat, and his knee cut seems to be 80-85% complete already. It feels like it's just a matter of time that he can pass my guard, and if I try shrimp out, I think I'm helping my opponent to do the knee cut.
Very good details! Thank you for the those micro adjustments. I deal with this a lot.
You’re a bloody life saver. Thank you.
