Man, I miss these stories. It’s crazy to look back and see how far joe has come in just 4-5 years. It’s really remarkable. I hope you’re as proud of yourself as we are of you, Joe. Not many people have the strength of character, the brains, and the resilience in the face of adversity to do what you have done. You’re a warrior. I don’t know if you needed this pep talk today or not, but if you do need it, I hope you see this! Take care and congratulations. You’re going to be absolutely phenomenal at fatherhood. 🤗💗✊🏽
"After fourteen days of starvation, I came out of isolation, went right back into general population." Hm... Have you tried becoming a freestyle rapper?
I got much respect for u joe, been watching for a few months now, ive been in and out of jail for possession of drugs nothin too serious, keep it up man
That and the subs. His growth is crazy! Im happy for him. He is one cool ass dude and is doing something original on UA-cam, unlike copying others like most channels do.
Just think joe you got out of prison not knowing many people i would imagine, now a hour after uploading a video on youtube you have 18k views.... Amazing man you are working hard and it is paying off for you people are able to learn from your experiences and you are able to interact with a large community of people from accross all parts of the world. Bet you never thought your channel would become this much of a success overnight, great job.
Joe I recommended you to my teacher when I met her a while ago and now she watches you too and we talk about things we learn from your channel sometimes. Me and her both love your channel. Much love from Sweden
One of my dads friend had his brother sentenced to death and was executed in 1998 and then later evidence was found that proved his innocence. Say what you want but this coury system and everything else we have is shit
It is man. We can't even imagine how many prisoners are actually innocent and behind bars because of some 'he said, she said' bullshit. Our court system is garbage and made to profit the PRIVATE prison industry.
Gardener Earth Guy Hahaha reminds me of shawshank redemption. What I meant by my statement is a large portion of inmates are convicted on non violent drug offenses like our friend on After Prison Show. Although a Larger portion is violent with charges like murder, rape, assault if we changed drug laws (aka. war on drugs) the prison population would drop significantly. Also repeat offenders would decrease due to no new inmates from that non violent population.
Hey Joe! what is prison like for people who are handicapped/who have serious disease or injury? I wonder if they are seperated or if they are picked on by other inmates etc.. Keep making videos bro! you are an awesome dude and you're very inspiring!
Kiwani yeah most guys in prison don't fuck with handicapped people because the other inmates don't play that shit. They ain't gonna let someone beat on a handicap whose minding his own business. Now if the dudes a chomo or does something stupid it would be a different story. But on average they just mind their own business and the prison is handicap accessible so getting around isn't a problem. At least that's how all the prisons I was at were.
I think those spanish speaking dudes were saying "Mojando" which means "wetting' or "Getting wet" I guess that's a Spanish version of "the floor's wet"
John Doe 'Wet floor' or 'the floor's wet' was one of the codes the prisoners came up with to warn eachother that CO's were coming. Joe talks about it in another video.
I hope ive come early enough for you to see this i just wanted to say keep up the good work as we all fall down but its the fall that makes us get up higher
Yo the key to doing good on UA-cam is uploading everyday with good content especially when one of your video go viral keep on doing what your doing but every day
Shortcut The food that is served in the hole might as well be shit, they get loaf. They'd take all the leftovers and compact it, bake it, sling it. Joe has talked about it in another video.
I just stumbled upon your website the other day and I just wanted to say thank you. I've seen many UA-cam channels and I really wanted to tell you how important I think what you are doing is. I've worked in Social Services for 23 years and as a After Hours Child Protection Worker for the last four, as well...and yes I am burning the candle at both ends working two stressful jobs but it's important. So many young people romanticize that crazy life and don't even see that there is another way. I see it all the time with both young and old and what you do is not only important....but long over do. Just wanted to say thanks and that I have much respect for you. It takes a brave man.
Iv watched countless prison documentaries after going to jail for dealing. I feel so lucky to never have had to go to the real big house. I'm straight now but i love these videos. Never left a UA-cam comment but you are greatly appreciated. Keep it up man!
Lol yeah i noticed that, its like a 1 mile stare, but not quite, more like a 1/2 mile stare or a prison version???. It still has some ring to it and i dunno the EXACT connotations to it. 0.o
I think I would have stayed in the level one facility. Joe one thing I wanted to ask is did you have to adjust to quiet space after leaving prison? I talk to a couple of men in prison and the background noise made by the other inmates is insane. I've read that some get used to it but find it hard when they are again on the outside. I'd like to know your experience with that. :) Love your channel!
Since Joe clearly hasn't seen this, I'll answer as a fellow Joe who's been locked up. I was released 7 years ago and I'm still institutionalized. When i'm not working I stay at home. I'm deathly afraid of the police and any police interaction, even though I don't do anything except smoke weed legally. You never really leave prison :(.
Thank you for making all these videos man. Your UA-cam channel should be something highschoolers and other people going through the whole 'scared straight' program should see.
Man this guy is such a good story teller. Normally if I get left with a cliff hanger I just go find something else, but I literally can't wait to hear what happens next. Keep up the good work!!!
I watch this show on a daily. I haven't been to prison, but I have did over 4 years in a county jail. Not all at once this all my time added up together, but anyway thanks for dropping the knowledge you drop to those who think that jail and prison isn't that bad. Keep on working you will save someone's life
Love hearing your stories, keep up the good work! It's amazing to see that you didn't lose your life by succumbing to the pressures of prison. I've never been to prison but I did a week in jail for a breach of probation and even in such a low security place, a lot of those people simply gave up on life, never to do anything with their freedom but throw it away as soon as they get it back.
Memeingless Toad Shit man it's the best! You and all your besties hang out all day and play games and eat your favorite cake while they sing songs to you. No violence, drug use or anything bad goes on all day just for you. Even the C.O.'s sing happy birthday to you.Just ask Merle Haggard. He turned 21 in prison. Never mind , you can't. He's dead.
hey joe, i got a Question for next Q & A.. im new to the channel but im loving the content! heres my question: What drove you to start getting in trouble and the more "devious" (for lack of a better term, English isnt my native language) ways of life, before you got incarcerated in 2008? Keep up the great work, and hope to meet Anderson in a video soon! Best wishes from Portugal!
I am so proud a channel like this has so many subs and views bc it is interesting educational and about edgy stuff without being too provocative You’re doing good with the life experiences you have had. I’m glad you’re making most of it
@John strawsky I am from Austria and my father went to prison 5 times in total. Back in the 60s prisons here where much like in the US. But these days its not much worse than a "Kinderheim". (Don't know the English word for that.)
As a former prosecutor and now a criminal defense attorney, one of life's little secrets...if a con has a hot tip about something, especially when you're in, it's bad information.
I like when you tell stories that are about actual circumstances that happened to you not just general information but a story about an event that occurred and paint a picture better than you generalizing how something as opposed to what happened specifically good video thanks for sharing
Joe I appreciate your insightful commentary becuase it rkeeps me grounded & appreciate what I have today. It's also given me a new found sympathy for extortion victims which provided me & others w/ commissary, stamps, laundry service, etc. At that time I was a compositely different person w/ littel to live for & while I did engage in some activities while down but as I've matured I've grown to be more remorseful for the consequences of my actions but then again at this time in DOC you were either guppy or a shark, it was essentially a gladiator school where guards were essentially as corrupt if not more, they even allowed fights to happen in order for those on pound to bet.
It usually is difficult for me to watch videos about prison life because my older brother was locked up many different times. He had been in Somers, Connecticut and Big Sandy among others. His last lockup was in Hagerstown, Maryland. I got a phone call from the Chaplain one day and he told me that my brother had hung himself. The stories you tell here give me some idea of what he was going through and why he decided to end his life. I think your videos help a lot of people to heal from the scars of prison. Keep up the great work.
Seminole Airsoft Team i've never been to prison but the reason is because gangs will get tattoos that may offend other gangs causing riots or other stuff, plus because the unwritten rules of the prison about tatoos

dude ive shown ur videos to my brothers and they love ur channel *got u 3 more subs bro* 😂😂😂😂 #everysubmatters btw sick video like always keep it up 👊👊
If you changed your title of "How prison changed my life" to "Why I went to prison," then so many people would stop asking the same question lol, that video would have gotten millions of views but people dont realize that, thats the video you explain why you went to prison
This dude seriously needs to write a book.
Alexander Hahn think about the guys that spent 20, 30 or 40 years in prison. Joe only spent 7 years.
Alexander Hahn I'd buy it
Alexander Hahn ditto
Alexander Hahn i'd buy because while reading i would imagin him talking to me knowing how he explains his experience lol
he cant write a 3 page essay and you think he'll write a fucking book

This is my favorite story by you hands down!
Man,you are such a good storyteller. I can't wait 'til part 2.
"Whoah, this is pretty intresting"
"Whoah, this toothpaste is pretty good"
If you changed your title of "How prison changed my life" to "Why I went to prison," then so many people would stop asking the same question lol, that video would have gotten millions of views but people dont realize that, thats the video you explain why you went to prison
If I had a dollar for everytime Joe got 1 inch from the camera, I'd be a Millionare
Perfect storyteller. Smarter than he realizes and brilliant people skills. Charismatic.
Joe! You should totally be like an author and write these stories in books. Imagine audiobooks with your voice. Your stories are so detailed!
Hey!
What are you doing!
Scroll back up and finish the video!

Its crazy to me how different his voice sounds now compared to his first video.
