I would definitely contact your local media to run a story on the dress…would also contact someone about records…it’s definitely a one of a kind piece. I’ve been trying to make a jumper out of individual flowers, and I’ve just been hand sewing them together next to each other. It’s been driving my crazy because they all stretch each other out and ruin the shape of the flowers, and the weight of the jumper pulls on the flowers at the top, but I couldn’t think of how else to do it! Thank you so much for posting this because it’s such a better idea! Make a base out of cotton first, then use a machine to sew the flowers to the base! That was the pressure isn’t on the crochet pieces. I’m going to take mine apart and redo it your way, it makes so much more sense!!

Thank you to ALL of my fellow crocheters who sent in flowers. That warmed my heart to 400 degrees. Then the time, attention and effort to make the dress (lovely on its own) and then affix the flowers? I am floored. It is stunning! Wear it in good health. I was hearted also by the Granny square blanket on the sofa too. I am making a sweater using, you guessed it the granny square stitch. This whole series was delicious from beginning to end. My sincerest thanks. I am happy for you. Yayyyyyyyyy! Oh and I learned about clear thread and a quilt foot. Score!😊

Agreed; all around *extraordinary project*, extra props for draping/creating the pattern besides. Complementary suggestions:
switch the shoes... some Doc Martens - white with roses pattern - would be an excellent choice for a year-round option, sweet ballet flats optional for spring/summer; a bell-sleeve bolero (for fall/winter); floppy hat (or just the band for one that could double as a flower crown worn without the hat), and Canine Couture... embellished existing items... made with the extra flowers would finish the ensemble most perfectly... and, maybe... crochet a one-big-leaf (or Ladybug-on-a-leaf) bag to complement this outstanding Retro 'Flower Power Bombshell' look.
That said, it's marvelous all by itself.

As an idea, you could make a matching bag with the dress!! It would finish it all together and won't waste the rest of the flowers :D

this is one of the best crochet projects ever! you included your community and make it very special because of that!
just one question-how are your plans when it comes to washing the dress especially when there are so many flowers out of different materials. is there a way to clean it properly without damaging the more delicate fibers?

Probably best is to hand wash it in cool water and hang it to dry with a towel on the inside or lay flat with a towel just in case the dye on any of the yarns isn't colorfast. Reds, Purples, and blues can tend to bleed. I don't know if she prewashed the flowers but I would probably just to make sure there is no dye transfer. She could use a few of the fabric color collector sheets in the sink just in case.

I'm not one who sent flowers since I discovered you shortly after it all began.
With 700+ flowers to deal with, I at first felt happy for the love sent and then badly
that you had to make a dress with them all. Well, Sweetheart...YOU DID IT!
And my oh my, it's a masterpiece. There isn't anything exactly like it on this planet.
In fact, Jenna, this is art gallery worthy. I can really picture it on display.
    Congrats, Sweetheart! 👏

Jenna, you and the dress are absolutely AMAZING!
Your creativity and patience are commendable and that dress is STUNNING 🤩.
On the runways of Paris Fashion Week, that would be tens of thousands of $. Here in UA-cam land it is worth tens of thousands of kindness $ from all who contributed.
Maybe next time, if there ever is a next time, pop the zip down the side…just my tupenny bits worth.
Love, love, love ❤️ it and your courage ❤❤❤❤

You could make a bag or pillows. Also if you steam the flower they relax.

I think it would be cool if you make a framed piece of art from it and approached a gallery of some sort or a community centre...or some nice place.... To see if you could display it there. It's a community art project... We have lots of those types of projects on display in public in Ireland. Not sure if it's the same as where you are
