This was slipknot's first time headlining download. It was also the first i saw them live. I was very lucky too as the following year Paul Gray (bassist) sadly passed away. It was an incredible experience. To be a part of the moment when 95000+ people were all crouched down in anticipation or jumping up and letting it all out was amazing. One of my highlight moments of my life so far.

Oh man "Spit It Out" was the first song of there's I ever heard, I would recommend Duality next from them it's another top song of there. I would definitely see them again. I also saw Stone Sour 3 years ago ( Corey's other band ) a show I will never forget. I highly recommend Devil in I and Song#3. You won't regret it.

You speak the truth, I've been going to concerts since 1970 and Slipknot is the most high energy grab the audience by the balls group of musicians I've ever seen.
I wish people would stop recommending live versions of songs Ike spit it out or heretic anthem or people = shit first. people should see the actual studio version first due to how much the masks messed up most of Corey's live vocals on these intense and high distortion songs. To really get the song in its full impact hearing it studio first then seeing the video of the live shows is way better
I get where you're coming from, but their reaction to specifically the live versions is also really interesting. There is nothing in the world like a metal concert, and watching these lovely ladies experience that firsthand (or rather, as close to firsthand as you can get on UA-cam) is still very awesome.

isnt that plan so counter productive in hindsight? basically one of the main things people cared about in the beginning was the masks. I think it was more as a differentiator though in the beginning.

If you are into music, and study metal you will find the use of a lot of complex methods. Key changes, using a variety of scales, use of arpeggios, unusual time signatures and a wide variety of tunings. You can find stuff from all types of music styles including baroque, classical, jazz, punk and blues. Many of the lyrics are much deeper than most people think. It is way more than just being fast and loud.
I agree, I’ve always said that metal singers and opera singers have the most in common when it comes to difficulty and metal musicians and classical musicians have the most in common for the same reasons. I’m not trying to take anything away from any other genre or say that other’s aren’t as talented. But the techniques utilized by both are very technical and take years of practice and devotion to master.
You should seriously check out Slipknot's"Snuff"! You'd never believe it was the same vocalist. His name is Corey Taylor, and his soulful ballads could squeeze a tear out of sand!!!! And you two ladies are priceless, glad to be one of your babies ❣️

They went with the masks so people would focus on the music instead of anything else or only listening because of how cute they thought the band members were to decide whether to listen or not.
isnt that plan so counter productive in hindsight? basically one of the main things people cared about in the beginning was the masks. I think it was more as a differentiator though in the beginning.

This was my first 2RG video, and it reminded me of my maw maw so much, I lost her know 2017 when I was around 14, she didn't understand metal but she always supported me and loved watching me playing my guitar and was happy just knowing I had music that I spoke with
If you are into music, and study metal you will find the use of a lot of complex methods. Key changes, using a variety of scales, use of arpeggios, unusual time signatures and a wide variety of tunings. You can find stuff from all types of music styles including baroque, classical, jazz, punk and blues. Many of the lyrics are much deeper than most people think.
It is way more than just being fast and loud.
I agree, I’ve always said that metal singers and opera singers have the most in common when it comes to difficulty and metal musicians and classical musicians have the most in common for the same reasons. I’m not trying to take anything away from any other genre or say that other’s aren’t as talented. But the techniques utilized by both are very technical and take years of practice and devotion to master.
