My mum always tells me the story of her and my dad going to see slipknot when she was 7 months pregnant. They’d booked tickets for the tour for late 2001. But due to 9/11 they cancelled and rescheduled. I was conceived in November, the time the original concert would’ve been. They ended up seeing them in London 6 weeks before my birth, so mid June. My mother’s water almost broke. And apparently I was kicking about like a metal head in her stomach. However my mum and dad had to wait to be able to properly escorted out. They ended up parking my dad’s car behind the main stage. Directly next to slipknots trailer, once I’d calmed down my mum felt better. My mum and dad met the whole band in their trailer. Apparently Corey was very happy to be of aid to my mum. But my parents tell me that they just jammed & spoke to them, I didn’t believe them. Until I found my dad’s 12 inch vinyl of Iowa signed by all original members of slipknot. I was made for this shit.

Corey hands down the best heavy vocalist ever in my opinion. Mad voice and love his harmonies in between. Not to mention been doing it for 20 something years and his voice is still pristine.

Back then slipknot music used to give this powerful industrial sickening feeling in the stomach which you never feel anymore. However I know they are on better living now and have moved on from drug and alcohol abuse …
