yea i think our budget was around 3,000 for everything on the build off. we luckily bought the mercedes at a dealer auction for about 800 so that helped! More money in cut off wheels and welding wire lol
I’ve always loved these little cuties, but wouldn’t have considered a Mercedes for a swap in a car that tiny. The hot ticket for these was a Fiat Twin Cam, when I was a teenager. Later on, it was a ROVER K-Series.
we used part of the front clip of the AMG. attached it to the the morris floor and firewall. and then the rear end we used the rear subframe for the independent rear suspension and bolted it all together. its a lot of morris chassis still...so thats either good....or bad
yea we have some pictures of it underneath and can take some, anything specific you'd like to see? we will post them up on our Instagram today! @d2kmotors
@@D2KMotors I'm about to do a Miata floorpan under a Morris. I was going cut out the whole Morris floor out and cut the Miata rolling pan down side to side to narrow it to fit into the Morris and right before I saw your video I was thinking about just using the Miata firewall and the original Miata metal forward and the transmission tunnel (leaving it attached to the firewall), and using Morris floor. Then putting the Miata rear subframe at the back under the original Morris floor. Then I saw your reply to ON IT's question and it sounds like you did what I'm thinking about. So I'd just like to see what the bottom of the car looks like front to back. How much Morris floor you left. Stuff like that. And thanks. Also I subscribed. PS - I have a '75 Avanti.
Trust me, i cried a little too, because imagine cutting a perfectly wonderful car apart..and then what if the drivetrain never worked in the morris? would have been for nothing lol
LOVE THIS!!! No big budget or anything just straight to the point and thinking outside the box and using actual logic to build something awesome!!!
