I was looking forward to this! Thank you very much, I can easily apply this to the countryside here in Europe.
Also found LIDAR data for my area, very interesting to plan a hike with it.

23:54 the features on the inner side of the bend are common here
interestingly the gold is on the outer side of a sharp (~60°) bend in fast flowing water here.

Thanks for the video. great info on using the lidar. I'd like to point you try panning in the area around the west liberty esker it would be half the travel time coming mup outta town and you might be surprised what you find in your pan.

Hey just want to say I appreciate all the content you’ve put out. Learned a lot. Not a Geoscientist by any stretch of the imagination, just wondering if there’s any benefit to a Ferrous Materials Indice? I’m out here in Arizona where LiDar is limited, just wanting to have as many tools in the toolbag as possible. I have ArcGis and have very minimal knowledge using it. Just wondering if that’s something worth doing?

Really been enjoying your informative prospecting tips. I've learned a lot. What confuses me, and I hope you can with it, is I live in KY and I'm just starting off prospecting. If I notice places of interest to prospect from using google earth or geo maps, how do I or you even, determine the area your accessing to be on public land or private? I understand your prospecting the East Coast primarily, so I'm finding it a challenge how to know if the area I want prospect is private or public. Do you simply park your vehicle off the side of the road and just start hiking to your spot or what's you process of obtaining access. Thanks again for everything your doing. I'm just learning how much gold there is is the East Coast but accessing these locations without being a property owner or belonging to a groups makes it difficult to know where to start.

It is difficult to determine mainly because each state is different in its laws and regulations. Ky like most other East coast states is mainly all private property and does not have claim like the western gold bearing states.
In VA the rivers and their bottoms are public land and open to prospecting. But in GA the river bottoms are owned by the adjacent property owners. I don’t know which is the case for Ky.

Thanks for the feedback. As I said I just prospecting in January and been researching since like crazy so I can get out there prospecting. I've been told by few old timers there is enough gold in KY to shoe all horses here with solid gold shoes. But I never heard of any being found. When I check the KY geology maps it says KY is not conducive with producing gold. Which would your experience suggest? @@theprospectinggeologist4347

    Hello Mat...
This is great information! Thankyou so much! I am highly computer illiterate. If iI sent you a mining district map in jpg format would you be able to export that to a layer w lidar in QGIS of an area im interested in?
I would gladly pay you for your time and information.
    Best Regards-Mike

      Hello Matt,
Thankyou for reaching out and trying to help me. I am definitely interested in your expertise...
I joined your patreon page but not sure how to privately message you about what we are discussing. How much would you charge me for your time and how do I send you my info.
      Best Regards-Mike

I live in one of the biggest gravel vans of northern Michigan. Our house was super cheap and the type of gravel that I’m finding even 4 feet down on the top of the hill is kitty litter sized to big boulders. I would love to pick your brain about deposit areas. Unfortunately, the farm that I own was also used as a junkyard. So I’m not down for trying to use a metal detector but I would like to use the machine and maybe get below the area that would have human deposited types of iron. I would love if you could give me a call. 2316519819
