The last one I had was a Kmart model lasted 2 years or less blew last week and ordered the sunny through Flybuys came today was surprised with plastic outer shell WTF anyway maybe if glass blows and I kept the extension ring from last one and it fits. Cheers.
Ideally you should clean it after each use with mild detergent and a damp cloth as per the instruction booklet. So for already harden grease I could only suggest to use non-scratch pad like brillo, steel wool, Scotchbrite, Chux with some soapy water and really work it ! I will make another video soon on how I clean this element lid.
The newer model didn't come with one as it was not in the box which is ok by me because I still can use the old one. Don't know why Sunbeam didn't supply them with the newer model.

how do you clean the lid? i grilled chicken and splashes stained the metal on the inside of the lid that is quite stubborn to come off

Where is the expansion ring ? They cheated you by not giving you this.
