    Summarizing washngo tips for reference:
    1. Apply product to DRIPPING WET hair. Add water between adding a product (example: Add a leave-in to wet hair, then add water again before adding gel/curlingcream/custard, etc.)
    2. Apply products to clean hair (avoids product buildup and the washngo will look better)
    3. After styling products avoid touching the hair until it is dry. (If you're going to be under a dryer or diffuse try to manipulate hair as little as possible.)
    4. Start with adding a little product, then add more IF NEEDED.
    5. She suggests beginners do washngo in 6-8 sections. Once you've got the technique down you can do four sections or less (whatever works).
Bonus tip(?): Watch washngo videos with people who have your hair porosity, not just your hair type.

Ik I'm super late, but this comment is so true . I don't do wash n go's but I do twist and flat twist out's. I'm low porosity and at first I was going heavy on the leave-in and gel. It always came out flaky and I was really discouraged. Then something told me to just do small dime size amounts for my leave-in . I don't use gel anymore though because it still came out flaky. Now I think it was just the gel and I tried all types, but it still came out flaky. I mean everytime I wore black that's all I saw on my shoulders. And I wear black all the time. It's my uniform for work. So I just stopped with the gel. I have my hair in a protective style right now so hopefully when I take my hair down and do a twist out hopefully my hair will be ok with just the leave-in and curl cream. Fingers crossed 😁

My hair shrinks up waaay too much if i try to do a wash and go and i dont have time to sit under a dryer ;((( BUT i have found that if i apply my products on super wet hair and add water in between, then go in with shea butter and twist, my hair keeps its natural curls bit also stretches a bit. I think bcos the hair is already defined its harder for it to mash together and form larger curls so it keeps the shape of my natural curls but stretches with the twists.
