Glad to know I wasn't crazy to quit using the raker gauge I had. Seemed to work well the first couple times. Once the tooth got worn in a bit. I didn't feel the gauge would let me get the rakers short enough. Ive started just hiting them every third sharpening. Just 2 very short strokes on each raker every 3rd time the tooth is sharpened.
Excellent video, as always! I’ve used the constant depth gauge, but I’ll swith to the better one. Stihl & Husky dealers are nearby. Which is better for Oregon chains? The Stihl or the Husky version?
The Stihl gauge area it m9re aggressive and I like it that way. But the Husqvarna are also good Then you have west coast saw who also make them. The stihl gauge will work well on the Oregon chain
Hello , this is the 2nd video I've seen where you are talking about this progressive depth guage . I;ve looked on line and went to my local Stihl dealer and he couldn't find it online or in his books , he couldn't tell me where to get one , so my question to you is where do I get one ?
Awesome job 🎉❤
Terrific verbalisation - thanks

Get a progressive gauge you thank me
The 3 photos are a great example of shaping the depth gauge. Pic 2 and 3 will react better if they look like pic 1
To much work to do that as the progessive gauge files it on an angle like that
Nowhere do you show how to use the progressive gauge.
That’s been covered ad nauseam elsehwere, not the point here.

Hi try getting a Husqvarna one or go online and order one from West Coast Saws in America
It's crazy how the progressive depth gauges can't be found anywhere in the U.S. .....
But you have west coast saws in America who make then and they are great gauges
