This was the encore where they just went nuts, very loose & had some fun covering some iconic songs. Prince concerts were a whole experience. He'd play all his great stuff, have so much fun, then play some other great music to close it out. His live performace of 'America- (1985) in France is mind blowing. The energy, the fun, and it was at a small venue so the crowd was right up close to the band.
It's really smart of you to start from the beginning of Prince's career. You will see how he just gets better and better. Love your reactions to Prince!!
This was Play that Funky Music/Hollywood Swinging/Fantastic Voyage. These were not his original songs. He often played others songs in concert. On albums he mostly stayed away from doing covers, but on occasion did later in his career. I can think of a few - Betcha By Golly Wow, If God Was One of Us, Crimson and Clover.
Enjoyed watching your reaction, Prince is everything!! Check out his duet with Rosie Gaines, at his Club Glam Slam in 1992 of his song Nothing Compares to U. Soooo good!
Youngblood trust me he gets more addictive as time goes on. There is so much more you are going to di$cover. Enjoy the neverending ride that is the purple yoda.
"We got to go y'all we to funky" Funky indeed, I love when he pays a little homage to those who came before him. This was part of his 21 nights at the Forum, benefit concerts to help keep the venue open and some proceeds going to a church who bought the place but came into some financial difficulties so Prince helped out. 85% of all tickets were priced at $25 for a 2 1/2 - 3 hour concert that would have surprise guest. Alicia Keys, Missy Elliot, Gwen Stefani, Stevie Wonder, Sheila E, Whitney Houston, Janelle Monae, Mary J. Blige to name a few. Many people found out that Prince was quite the philanthropist but he kept it low-key and didn't boast about it. There are many stories of him giving back. A brilliant musician but an even better person. Nice reaction from across the pond. Liv4luv 0(+->
I’m so glad that you’re getting into the live music as well as going back to the beginning of this, in my opinion, absolutely phenomenal artist. If I’m not subbed already, I will so I can be a part of your journey, however far you take it with Prince! 💜🫶🏽 “Play that funky music” is a song from the late 70s by Wild Cherry, a rock band that ironically became best known for this timeless, disco/funk jam. Prince is just covering it here in concert along with two other funk classics from the late 70s-early 80s “Hollywood Swinging” and “Fantastic Voyage.”. He’s covering three classics by other artists.
I like your energy, I'm from Minneapolis and I love me some Prince, the greatest of all time
Prince is everything in MUSIC
I ditto this entirely! Ha, thanks for watching with me! 🤪❤️

Yesssss! U rocken!!! purple Highness 💜💜💜💜💜💜
Wild Cherry originally did this song. Prince covered a lot of great music
Everyone knows that prince is a beast on guitar and keys. But he destroyed that bass.
Too funky Prince didn’t even try it was so easy being this funky to him, never be another that did what he did ❤
A Purple Party was the Prince concert experience! Prince was a year older than me, these were songs from artists we saw in concert in our teens.

Another Love with 3rd Eye Girl was a cover too but he made that song his own.
Duh…Thanks 🤷🏽♂️
This was a cover...Prince could make any song pop off live, even corny fluff like "Play That Funky Music (White Boy)."
ahhh come on man thats not nice but....yeah that part:)
Play that funky music was done by Wild Cherry. Such a fun reaction. You have an amazing voice.

Free styling it
This was the 3rd encore from that night people wouldn’t stop screaming and clapping so he had to come back on stage 3 times
TGOAT! 💜

You missed a great time to do a new Prince reaction, June 7th is his birthday and would have made a great tribute
This was the 3rd or 4th encore.

"Infiel" da marilia é muito bom,não esqueça desse
How are you enjoying your Prince journey? 💜
This is a mashup of 3 songs and none of them are his, they are covers
This is what his SuperBowl performance should have been 🧨
