I'm a beginner and I've been cubing for like 2 months now and sub 60. I have school so I cube weekends only. I had like 100 solves including 2x2 3x3 oh and 3x3. My google account logged out for no reason at all and when I logged back in I discovered that nothing was saved. They were all gone. I tried to import my data back in but realized that I never exported my data then. I just logged in with my google account and thought it would export my data automatically. That's how I lost 50% of my motivation about cubing
I use cstimer on both pc and mobile and I've never had problems with it. If it happens, you can at least think that one day you'll be much faster than now and you won't care anymore about those solves.
My times disappeared, but i thought i was ok since i back up regularly. However, when i entered my cstimer server code, i got someone elses solves. Idk if there’s any prevention to stop other people from saving over your code, so i guess i just lost like 2 years of solves. Not sure what to do now
Just today i logged into my CSTimer account to find all my solves, session names, colour scheme and everything i had gone and has been reset. Do you have a solution for this?
The weird thing that happened to me is that all the solves are gone *however* when I go to all the sessions all the statistics are shown in the menu correctly
@MatthewCubes sometimes when I try to delete my cache in my browser it also deletes some of the times because its data being stored so if you delete your search history or something it might also delete your times.
I did 47300 solves on cstimer but it never happened with me. But, still I use to export my solve just to import that data on another device I use and it also can help me in future whenever my tablet become useless.
never experienced this but still have always been exporting my data after a session since I saw this option (before I was exporting CSV which I found out the hard way could not be imported again)
I have soo many problems with cs timer. Solves disappear sometimes. Other times solves ftom one session transfer to others and just randomly mix up. This is soo messed up
omg, today i opened cstimer after quitting it for a test and all my solves were gone. Im not kidding when i say i had 39000 solves( this being my third year of cubing). My goal was one hundred thousand(100 000) but know that this happened, i probably wont reach it anytime soon. I am so sad now.
I connected it to my WCA ID, and not only do i export it every time i close the tab I also do file exports every now and then. So no matter what I dont lose my 35000+ solve session lol
@@MatthewCubes it’s enabled but everything like the times and the averages are there but somehow there’s no button that says “session” 1 to actually tap/click
I wonder if someone could write a script that would auto-export upon closing. Maybe it could also import when opening too.

I’m sorry to hear about your negative experience
I've done 12600 solves in my 3x3 session and this has never happened to me so if it did happen i would be so frustrated
Thanks for the shout out bro it mean s slot I'm freaking out almost in tears
maybe your browser is clearing cookies or something
It has started to happen to me, but it only ads back a few thousands of my older 3x3 solves when I do your solution, and not my newer solves.
The video production quality it going up. Keep it up!
Thanks
Also happened to me when I first use it, 400+ solves were gone, including my cubing career's first solve.😶🌫️
I've never had the problem myself, but I've heard that it can be caused by your computers storage space being basically full.
I use cstimer on both pc and mobile and I've never had problems with it. If it happens, you can at least think that one day you'll be much faster than now and you won't care anymore about those solves.
That's such a great way to look at it! I think I'll try it

By the way, I'm pretty sure the problem is that you are resetting your cookies (deleting search history can cause this to happen as a byproduct)

i started cubing some time ago and had, like 500 solves on 4x4 an someday it all disapeared
tbh it might just be a device storage issue
I had that problem too, and i fixed it the same way you did!

The most I did was like 300 so I cant even imagine how frustrating that would be with 10000 :D
It was pretty devastating :(
This reminds me when I accidentally deleted my entire session which had like 4,000 solves
It is a sad day when something like that happens…
@@MatthewCubes I know:(
i don't think i've ever experienced this problem, but i use firefox so maybe that has something to do with it
All I know is it is stored in IndexedDB. Probably has something to do with no storage on your computer
It deleted for some time, i started exporting info, and that deleting of times were changing my colorscheme too. that stopped eventually.
Could be that you're clearing your cache? I believe cstimer solves save to your browsers cache but I could be wrong.

I discovered the export thing because it deleted my solves once, but the export feature doesn’t work anymore. It just says “some errors occurred…”
It just tells me that it “timed-out” and to log-in again
@@MatthewCubes same
Okay, whenever I go to stop the timer the right button gets clicked and more seconds are added to my time. (I use a laptop)

I do solves on cstimer and get sub 45 usually then I do it on a different timer I get like sub 1 min????

I got that bug butt only in my clock setion 😂
it’s just happend yesterday
I have saved like 23k solves, 1 year of grinding is gone..
im cried (no joke) 😢
It’s ur local storage / cookies clearing. Just make sure your computer isn’t clearing them

For me, I DO export my solves but they still deleted, and now the export menu WONT OPEN,
Are you maybe not using the secured version? I haven’t run into that problem yet
@@MatthewCubes oh, I’m not sure, but I have already switched timers to cubedesk which you should make a video about
Yeah cube desk is a pretty solid timer too :)
Why I use cubedesk
this is why you export your session solves
oh you said that in your video nvm lol
i lost 14000 3x3 solves and 4k prya solves 3k 2x2 sessions and other bad events am very mad
just login to your wca or goole acc and import it and then you could export it back
i hate cs timer, every single one of my solves are gone, even the sessions are made, all gone
My problem is my own mistake I click the Export button on accident and now 0 solves D:
0:08 10,000 solves but no dnf?
I don’t count those :)
I export with my wca ID and the auto export works
I connected it to my WCA ID, and not only do i export it every time i close the tab I also do file exports every now and then. So no matter what I dont lose my 35000+ solve session lol
I have 22,000 solves and I’m so scared every time I close Google.
Exporting the solves appeases my anxiety about that happening :)
@@MatthewCubes I just started exporting, and it definitely helps my anxiety
The same thing happened to me…
Bro buy a timer, a pencil, and a paper to write down with
i lost 3 years worth of solves
I have a really dumb problem where I can’t chagrin my session
Change my session where there is no option to change and now I’m stuck in 2x2
I’m pretty sure you need to click the button that says “times list” when you hover over it
@@MatthewCubes it’s enabled but everything like the times and the averages are there but somehow there’s no button that says “session” 1 to actually tap/click
Hmm. Strange. I don’t know what to do because I have never encountered that. Sorry
@@MatthewCubes no problem it randomly switched back to 3x3 :)
New sub😎🙃
