  • The Federal Bureau of Investigation has been considered the world’s premier law enforcement agency for a century since its founding. It had grown into many different areas since its inception. The first director of the FBI was also its longest serving spanning almost five decades under eight presidents and he was instrumental in creating an effective all encompassing yet sometimes controversial organization. The FBI is doing what it was organized to do in 1908--anti-subversion, anti-terrorism, counterespionage, fighting political enemies. It took almost two decades to pick up a law enforcement mission--prior to that, it was "investigative" work only, a spy organization.

The Supreme Court ruling was Wickard v. Filburn, 317 U.S. 111 (1942). Filburn was the farmer. Wickard was FDR's Secretary of the Department of Agriculture. FDR had his own concentration camps. He put known racists on the Supreme Court that he threatened to destroy. We have another Socialist Democrat president now threatening to play FDR's game. Another racist Jew-hater. @ROYNEPTUNE We did not start out with term limits for presidents. It was the wisdom of our first president that kept the tradition until two others tried to for a third term. As we all know, the opportunity of the Second World War allowed Roosevelt to be elected to four terms. I believe people were smart to see the danger of it. Great documentary on Hoover Collin . I was born in the mid 50's and was told by my naive parents and grandparents how great a crime fighter J Edgar Hoover was . Growing up watching the Untouchables TV series and later the series the FBI , I was convinced of his " could do no wrong" , hero status . As a young adult , I read his book , Masters of Deceit , which a family friend , who was an FBI agent , told me was not written by Hoover , but was ghost written by someone else . Allegations of cross dressing and homosexuality were put forth against Hoover , which his apologists dismissed as slander by his detractors . I believed these explanations , and just couldn't believe that a man with such sterling character was guilty of such things . As time went by the claims against Hoover continued to persist , and when backed up by solid evidence , I came to see.JEH for what he really was , a proud egotistical power hungry manipulator who used and abused the law for his own purposes , even to the extent of being involved with LBJ in the planning and coverup of the JFK assassination . He was also responsible for not following up on reports from his agents from South America of live sightings of Adolph Hitler in the Baraloche region of the Argentine Patagonia and elsewhere . I have come to understand the saying that ; " the phenomenon may be a conspiracy, but when you have facts and data it's not a theory " . Noah was a " conspiracy theorist ", until it started raining ! 😎👍 Also ; " questions that are not adequately answered don't go away " .

    Normal people rarely allow themselves to believe that anything can be done about the tremendous evil in the world, to the point that it’s considered naive/immature to ponder it. It is extremely discouraging. Once pacifism was piled on, pretty much all hope was lost.

    W. Mark Felt is a distant cousin of mine(going back to George Felt (1601-1693), on Wikipedia) I take a lot of the bad things against Hoover with a grain of salt. The people saying it are the same old crew we don't trust now, so why would we trust them then, he was powerful and like almost anyone would be expected to be as a human, a little corrupt, I think the proof is in the pudding, since all the things ge is accused of being against proliferated, what happened, the USA has deteriorated, massively and it has been infected with such unamerican ideals that our very existence for the betterment of our own people's interests as intended and as is natural has been shoved aside where society is a heist against those who built all of this and now nothing is being built, nothing is being saved, nothing is being created, nothing maintained, it's impossible to survive without being in daddy gubmint's pocket, no more self determinationism, huge inneffective and tyrranical government. Hoover might have been bad in some ways, I'd take him over all these people in there now. I'd take the pre-'73 world over this one...even if I prefer the pre-1913 world. My family has been in this country 160 years before Washington took the oath of office and we'll be here after that too... it's looking like a conflict over the future is coming sooner than later.

Later he guarded German POW at Fort Greeley CO.

    Saying Hoover was the first director of the FBI is deceptive similar to saying Allen Dulles was the first director of the CIA, the first director was OSS head ,Wild Bill Donovan ;and was later renamed the CIA through government machination SO no Allen Dulles was not the first director of information Intelligence . Like was J Hoover was preceded by Charles Joseph Bonaparte being the first director of the Bureau of Investigation which was found to have put thousands in prison on false pretenses in the early twentieth century to promote a war the government wanted and many people of the U.S. did not . A lot of information is being left out like showing up to the scene of car accident after the cars have been hauled away by tow trucks.

    • @FORGOTTENHISTORYCHANNEL
      @FORGOTTENHISTORYCHANNEL  2 місяці тому +2

      It was the OSS , not CIA under Donovan. "Federal Bureau of Investigation" saw Hoover as first director. Names mean something.

    • @joemccarthy4270
      @joemccarthy4270 2 місяці тому +3

      @@FORGOTTENHISTORYCHANNEL exactly names mean nothing similar to the CHEKA being renamed the NKVD it is the U.S. Government / Academia renamed the OSS to the CIA and gave it a new "director" like wise they did the same with the The Bureau of Investigations renaming it the Federal Bureau of Investigations with a new director, exact same organizations renamed to hide their history. Very few people know that Felix Dzerzhinsky murdered his own sister when he was a teenager and history does not record it as such. I stopped believing history and only look at out comes every act is intentional that is written about in history books and the books are written to cover that up and hide it .
