LANDCRUISER RESCUE . Parked for years on a dairy farm . we bring this aussie work horse back to life

- Опубліковано 12 вер 2024
- This episode we are have a revival on a HJ 75 Toyota Landcruiser diesel . Found on a local Dairy farm it had been parked for a decade or so , we are bringing this one back to become a perfect weekend camping holiday , outdoors offroad type of 4x4 . Just good enough to be proud of but not too good to take out and really get into the bush and enjoy it. Australia loves the Landcruisers and recently the 79 series dual cabs but these are becoming collectable classics so here we go saving one. This is a bit of a will it run but also a budget on the cheap make over with a lift and some 35's.
Something different people ! We’re goin off road hahahh. Dont forget

Great save Mick. As always, a pleasure to see you go through the process methodically. I love this era of Landcruisers. Owned a 1985 HJ60 with the same running gear that took me on many adventures. Thanks for saving this old girl.
Too kind mate , yeah these ol girls were bulletproof . Yep there is always a thought process and thanks for coming along with me 🍺🍺👍
@@Blueblur444 mate, I was thinking the same, we, as a family, did a lap around Australia in a 1985 HJ60 in about 1987, a brilliant solid vehicle, a little bit underpowered, but 100% reliable, good years for Toyota Fourbies. Lots of familiar machinery under that bonnet. Mick's great at bringing them back into useful service, love his fleet of "survivors".

Great job and great video. I was with you all the way diagnosing the problems and I thought I had the engine shutting off sorted when you pulled that little black box out from behind the battery. Incase no one else mentioned it, that was a siren for an old school car alarm so I immediately thought it was the alarm shutting off the fuel to the engine. I don’t recall you actually saying what the fix was but perhaps pulling all the crap wiring out removed that as well. I think you did a brilliant job on the old girl and you should get another 200,000k out of it.

I was waiting for the day you’d fix up a landcruiser, the engine seemed to be idling abit rough which is somewhat normal for a old diesel but I would try bleeding the injector lines to help. I saved a 80 series diesel myself from a farm, similar condition, had to replace the door and right fender panel, front brake hoses, injector pump leak and a few other small things. Was my first car project so learned a lot. Ended up installing a turbo so it actually goes alright now! 👍
