- I bargained with Türkiye sellers in a market (Grand Bazaar market spree in Istanbul). I wanted to buy a T-shirt from the oldest market in Istanbul. Bargain hunting. This is the OLDEST market in Istanbul.
This is the oldest market in the world. One of the most visited markets in Istanbul. This is where all the top sellers come to bargain with tourists. I tried my best to bargain with them.
I remember bargaining with a cab driver in Bangkok. Me and my buddy were going to beat his ass until we realized that we were arguing over .15 cents!
Bahahahahhaha oh Mike thanks for this laugh!
Lollllllllllllllllll thanks for the friday morning laugh!
I loved the video , you are so nice let me tell you 💚
Keep practicing, i will do that to when i get there soon :)
I usually pay whatever they ask because i’m too nice and don’t want to put their products or job down.
Thank you so much! Appreciate it! Hope you have a great time!
The old man in the end, he is so nice! and he is so genuin! haha
def. was very nice!
I spoke too soon! You got a good deal, good 👍🏽 for you! What do I know 😂
haha. yah, idk if it's a good deal but it was fun bargaining. I wouldn't wanna do this every time i shopped though lol. Glad we don't bargain in the states.
Try Cadircilar Caddesi street which is in the weat of Grand Bazar or even Çarşamba bazar (Wednesday market) near Fatih mosque. Grand bazar is a good place for tourists, who don’t care about bargaining, For me I never pay full price, unless it’s pleasing good. Which rarely happens! 🤣
Hello.thanks
Awww man i wish i was back there 🥺 are you gonna try Nargile pipe/shisha😎👍
It's pretty amazing here. Visit soon Rocco! It's one of my fav countries for sure! I'm probably gonna try shisha lol. Right now, i'm hooked on the chai here. it is freakin amazing!
Haha yeah i love the chai too man, just watch out for diabetes with the sugar😂 If you go to Tophane district you will find all the shisha. Wish i could join you bro!👋
They were probably more reluctant to go cheaper because you had a camera in their face.
You could show the whole world how low they are really willing to go.
That's true lol
Good point !
You walked away from a sale over10 lira, after he dropped from 170 to 100, there’s haggling and just taking the piss.
my bad man. You're right. i was just set on a set amount at the time and didn't compromise.
You can see that you weren't really looking to buy anything lmao, just there to lowball and then walk off loool
haha. Maybe that's why they were not agreeing. this was fun.
Great video but you’re shopping in the wrong place. There are plenty of other cheaper markets in Istanbul that sell those same items about 1/3 of the price.
yea, some locals told me each district has its own Bazaar. Visited a few but the one i wanted to see most was closed at the time because of covi d.:/
can you suggest some of them please, like for clothes
5:57 I think the walking away rarely works. I saw another video where they tried that and failed.
yea. bad idea i guess. lol they assume you're not interested.
Waking away only works if you’ve haggled for some time and they think you really want it and there’s only a bit of wriggle room left
@@Jimbo_Gringo that makes sense
Where do you recommend to go that's cheaper than the grand bazaar
I need to know 2
Every district has its own bazaar. There is a bazzar on Tuesdays (also fridays i think) in Kadikoy (the Asian side, which you can get to using a boat easily). There is a food bazzar on Sundays that i missed because it was closed at the time because of Covid. it's only on sundays. it's called Inebolu Sunday market and village food is supposed to be there. I was SOOO bummed when i went there to find it closed. Was so ready for it! Here are some of the bazzars (www.theguardian.com/travel/2011/sep/06/istanbul), but there are ones they did not list.
check my reply to the original comment. :) have fun!
@@EvanRamani thanks I'm headed to Turkey tomorrow
@@rizwanx7482 wish you the best time brother! It's amazing there. some of their vegetarian dishes are their best! Try some of the eggplant and potato/zucchini mixed dishes. AMAZING in my opinion. Anyways, have a great time!
Evil eye first item they sell for 2 lira and he haggled to 7 so not a good start
That's not what that fountain is used for...
not right now but i read in the past, that is what it was used for, unless i'm at the wrong one. :)
Dude, I notice you say marhaba I stead of Salaam minute you say that they'll start there price from 4times higher because they do not like Arabs lol...
You should say Salaam waleikum instead instead of 1500 tl they'll say 700tl or 500tl and bargain rock bottom to 200 TL.
Allah hafiz
Merhaba is Hello in Turkish. what's wrong with that?
Yeah you’ve got that the wrong way round then- if the price is higher as you say, why would you then greet them in Arabic not Turkish?
He started at 450… 100 WAS the deal, bruh 😎 you got stuck in the moment … a glass case of emotional pride …
Happened to me as well, with spices and turkish delight I paid crazy in usd..
Gate 7 behind grand bazaar is place to shop
Hey dont buy in the Bazar , buy next to the Bazar IT IS cheaper
Everywhere else is cheaper than the Grad Bazaar.
What is a good price for fake yeezy?
£20
In 1 month £20-£40 when the season starts
@@glin529 for first replica?
@@ThunderFarter I got sum good air max 90s for £20 and an Armani watch for £7.. bin here a few weeks now so getting to know the prices and that. And that's the best prices IV found.. hit me up Wen Ur out here n I'll take u the shops with the good stuff at the prices they give the Turks. But like I say everything's going up soon for the tourests.. if not. Just spend a smday window shopping n asking prices and then take pics of the shop fronts that you worked good prices from and then but on day 2... Cos walking off 50% of the time gets it cheaper anyways and u don't Wana be like me when I first arrived n kicking urself that u coulda got twice as much for the same money if ya hadn't been so soft to there persuasions cos they telling me how much they can't wait for a few weeks time Wen they can double there prices for the English... English. Not forgners, English. So they know what there doing. It's up to us to know what we're doing cos once Ur out here Ur on ya own... N taxi drivers 100% of um are scammers n proud of it so never get in a taxi or at least ask for the meter if u legit have to or they will have Ur pants down
But on day 2 not but lol
Come on Evan, don’t be so cheap... this is first quality merch.
I know lol. I was being cheap but i was trying to practice my bargaining skills. I sucked so bad lol
The baazar is overpriced, as bargaining is expected, plus tourism. You have to lower the price
the bazaar sells overpriced garbage walk around it for the history, dont buy shit from any of the crooks there if they just displayed prices theyd get more sales but theyre looking to rip that one tourist off a lot of money instead
Hacia tiempo que no pasaba tanta vergüenza ajena!! Estas fatal tiio 😂. 300TL, te doy 50 y por qué eres tú y te vas para reconfirmar tú buena oferta
this guy is the worst barganer I ever saw
I tried Mike lol
Actualy.. 300 liras îs 16 usd
