Exchange rate now is crazy..... But MOST of the fake gear in Istanbul youtubers are making videos showing FAKE prices .They ask for a really good discount fore themselves in return for a video pretending he has managed to haggle a deal down to 20-30 % MORE than you really can .This way the shop hopes people believe the prices they can offer .The mouthy Amercian is the worst !
To be fair the max you should have paid for the Balenciaga's would be 300-350 lira not 950 which you paid.

If you go to Istikal Caddesi, this is called "walking street", they have good rates there and are professional.
I've heard some places in / just outside the grand bazaar do really good rates!

Go to 14:40 he says 4000 lira which is £200 although he quickly came down to £150. £150 was too expensive, you should be paying max £80 as a tourist. Locals probably pay £40
I bought nothing from the Grand Bazaar as all prices were silly, go away from tourist hotspots to get good prices
