I ride a 2013 Beta 250rr and love it. Not knocking any other bike and ive ridden alot of different bikes. As an older slower C 40 rider, it fits my style the best. Hope you continue to enjoy the new bike. Keep up the cool vids man!

Have owned a 2016 300 RR since new. Still have the factory oil injection, still on the original top end, 160 hours now. As mentioned in a previous comment reply down below, proper jetting and float height adjustment will drastically improve the fuel economy and performance. Suzuki NECJ or NEDJ needle will make a big difference, adjust your float height lower, you can also loop the vent tubes but I haven’t done that to mine personally. I can get 60-70 miles on the stock 2.5 gal tank without issue. Most I’ve ever gone is 72 miles before I hit reserve. You don’t need a bigger tank unless you want a lot more range. We ride in similar elevation and terrain. I ride mostly in PA or NJ. I haven’t raced in a couple years, took some time off riding for a bit but when I did I was doing C Vet Class in ECEA Enduros. Beta’s are amazing bikes. You made a very good choice and the 2020’s are a big improvement over previous years. Happy to help if you have any questions. Also the stock tires flat out suck for east coast terrain, throw an M59 front and 525 cheater rear on it and never look back.

I’ve run the 525 multiple times. I’m using the new IRC VE33S gummy right now. It’s great. No mushy feel like the 525 when turning but hooks up sweet on the rocks and forest crap. Got a Nitromousse soft mousse in it.

Sharp looking Beta! Two strokes rock - 2 strokes and carbs are like PB&J.
I picked up a new KTM '18 XC as it had a carb. Put a Lectron on it, and after dialing it in, the carb is perfect everywhere and at every temp.

200 KTM's kick ass,Ive had 4 of them. Oddly I like the older ones better, due to the motor being torquier down low,the newer they are the more of a screamer they are. I liked my 01 MXC200,I liked my 04 200. The 09 I had had to be screamed to go up big hills. Not an advantage.

Great bike. I had one and loved it. But I also realized I was attempting to do things I had no place attempting and realized I preferred the DS life. KTM dealers are way more prevalent so its not surprise to be more popular along with the Husky. But Beta has been gaining ground and Sherco is seeping in too. It will be interesting to see how GasGas fares with having KTM as their parent now. We definitely have a good selection of 2 strokes(and 4 strokes) for trail/woods/enduro type riding like never before.

Haven't hit reserve on mine yet but I heard Beta's have really high pick up tubes so they have a lot of fuel left on reserve. I went Smart Carb for fuel economy. When I shut the fuel off it runs for about 15 mins with the Smart Carb. Wouldn't run that long on the stock carb but I didn't time the stock carb vs the Smart Carb.

    • @crziness5176

@@lboughto I've had the same experience with the Smart Carb on my 500. The $700 price tag scared me at first but I bit the bullet one day and WOW, am I glad that I did. It did run great with the old carb with fine tuned jetting but the SC2 makes it run even better. I have found the power to be very linear with a very strong top end pull. My fuel lasts a very long time, the throttle response is lightning fast like an EFI bike and the power increase was very noticeable. The only thing I had to touch was the idle. I tell people that it's the best thing (let alone 700 dollars spent) that I have ever done to any of my bikes. I'm eventually going to get one made for my carburetor'd 2006 YZ250F. I actually enjoy playing with jets and needles, but after my experience with the SmartCarb I don't even want a bike with a standard carb again. I was very skeptical of the SC2 until I actually tried it and it's legit.

Try the MotoZ Arena Hybrid for the rear, they make a standard compound as well as a gummy compound version. I recently purchased one (non-gummy) for my 2001 CR250R and absolutely love it, and it has been holding up very well. I am sure it is going to be my new tire of choice from here on out. I used ride with a Battlecross X30 on the front for a few years and switched to the X20 when I switched to the Arena Hybrid rear. It has turned out to be an excellent combination for me and the Sierra terrain I ride in.

You might want to dial the carb in a bit. The float needs adjusted... They're always so high from the factory, Double loop both sets of lines, loop the overflow tube up and over the air intake so you're not dumping gas as much. Jetting sounds good I wouldn't change anything on it. Those little mods should help with getting more mileage out of your tank of gas.

Great initial thoughts! Bought a 2020 250RR a couple months ago and am feeling very at home on mine too. My fuel economy is much better though, but I’m still figuring out my jetting too so I don’t lose power. Seems to come very rich from the factory. It’s a great company to support!

Justin Redman I cant comment on betas 250. But Ktm / husky 250 had plenty of bottom end It seemed. The only reason I went with 300 is every now an again I find my self in the wrong gear going uphill. The 300 can lug down below idle speed and still pull up hills

    • @SNIPER101935
      @SNIPER101935 4 роки тому

Ben Hunt I’d disagree too! I haven’t run into a hill where the Beta 250 couldn’t lug. It’s really surprised me so far. I really think Beta has the engine spot on compared to other brands- honestly the thing I think sets them apart the most. Better power delivery and more usable power than husky/ktm in my opinion.

I’ve been on a 2015 ktm 250 xcw since new and I demoed a 22 250 rr and the motor was great! Really fast revving, smooth, and had good low end. Felt really light. I was right at home and really impressed. Made me want to get another 250 but I ended up ordering the 300 Race Edition. Both motors were such an improvement on my 15 KTM. It’s crazy what 7 years of technology can do. So pumped to get my 300 in Feb/Mar!!!

I own a 2018 RR, an excellent bike. Like you, I had a few minor QA issues that were easily fixed. I think the typical rider would love the Beta. If you must have the most advanced & most expensive bike on the market, go KTM. But, I'm not convinced it adds any fun factor for the typical rider.

    At the present, I have a 2014 Husky te300, a 2018 te300, and a 2017 Beta 300RR.
If I were to buy a 2020, it would be a Beta 300RR.
One thing you need to do on any new bike is to go over all the fasteners and ensure they are tight.
I found loose bolts and nuts on both my 18 Husky and the 17 Beta when they were brand new.
And the drive chain on the Beta was way too tight, so had to be loosened.

Had my 2021 Beta 390 RR Race shipped without exhaust pipe from factory. Then had light kit added without asking for it or wanting it. But signals didnt work, speedo didn't work. Needed to replace signal relay to account for LED lights but dealer didn't know that so I had to figure it out.
Engine leaked but fixed under warranty. Dealer didn't know that there are two places that need to have oil so almost ruined engine if I hadn't caught it. Oh, and fuel sensor was dead after a few hours. Replaced and died again immediately. Distributor says they are all like that. I think I forgot a few things too.

Congrats on the purchase! Check the float height to see if you can get more fuel economy with a slightly lower setting (usually set quite high). People get good economy with a Suzuki NECJ needle as well. Oh and play with your power valve adjuster to change engine characteristics. Much more of an effect than the mapping switch. Also how does the 300rr compare to the Xtrainer you recently rode, suspension aside?

Congratulations on a new lap record in less than optimal conditions. Are you running the tires aired down? Nobody seems to like them in the wet, but nobody ever says what pressure they are at. Big difference between 15 psi front and rear and sat 8.5 in the front and 6.0 out back.525 extreme is a better wet/mud conditions operator than the 505 in my opinion. The tusk recon does alot for not alot, if the tall profile doesn't bother you.

Well, it’s pretty tough. One year it was a sheet of ice, the next year it was so muddy that ruts swallowed bikes. They had to get a crew of 4x4 quads to extract some bikes sunk to the handlebars. All the other races around our area seem to be much easier.

Sure the tm might be a bit to the stiffer side and can give some harsh feedback. But it wont bottom our wash out. And power is insane

Hey man, I know this video is a couple years old but if you could answer, I’d appreciate it. After riding for a while, do you still feel the same about the suspension? I’m torn so hard right now between the 300rr, 300 race edition, & Husky Te300. All things equal, I want the carb, but suspension is key. Neck & wrist issues, but want to do hare scrambles & hard enduro, amateur, riding my whole life, 42 now, but never raced, always had crappy bikes. But am in a spot to buy a new Beta or 1yr old Te300 for same price. Any input from 1st hand exp would be awesome. Thanks.

Just my $.02, I prefer the ZF Sachs front and rear suspension on the RR models. Every dealer I talked to recommended this suspension on my ‘23 for trail riding and harder enduro in Colorado and Utah. I’ve had really good results with my ‘23 300rr

Why didn't you buy the 390 other than the obvious weight and 2 vs 4 stroke? I'm coming off the KTM 350 that I won a few VCHSS and VXCS races with, and am pissed that KTM nixed the kick starter completely. The Beta 350 is too much race for me, thoughts on the 390?
