Really love your videos, especially your particular eye for detail and precision. I been building decks and houses for 26 years and I have seen a lot of people over look certain things, like wrapping post for concrete. Lot of people over look that certain step. Great work, I look forward to watching more of your videos.

Agree 100 percent!! You come off as very meticulous and make sure everything you do is up to your standard.... LOVE THAT. Really enjoy all of your videos. Pretty much watch you every day. Ive been building decks for 25plus years and I hate to say it, but after watching you.... im relearning just about EVERYTHING. Thank you for your expertise, your inspiration, and most of all your TIME! Very much appreciated

I've been following your videos because I can always learn something from other deck builders. Why do you put concrete around the post? From everything I've read, the concrete shrinks when it dries (and so does lumber) and water will find it's way into the gap and then once air and micro-organisms find it's way in, you start the rotting process. Wouldn't you be better off just setting the post on a cookie? Then there is no moisture trapped next to the post. Most of all rotting issues happen at and just below grade.

Do you live in the pacific Northwest? It seems to rain a lot. I appreciate all the tips. I watch a lot of different channels on the subject and you are one of the top, if not THE top channel on the subject IMO.

Why wouldn't you just use a post base and keep the wood up and away from the concrete?

The Doc had to get surgical with those stair blocks! It's awesome to have someone asking you questions that homeowners/DIYers would actually ask. It's easy to forget that not everyone is a builder that uses that your lingo. Keep it up!

I like the way you are supporting the wrap around stairs. Typically I set pavers below grade and run posts down to them every 32” or so but I think I prefer your method. I only wonder, do you dig those piles below frost line as well? My frost line is 48” so a dozen extra piles gets pricey.

I realize I'm kind of off topic but do anyone know a good website to watch newly released series online?
