4 caravans in 4 days will be a challenge! , I hope that's sides only and not underneath!! . Aa for the scallops (bannana lines) , they tend to make or break these old things , hq are the hardest (and most pronounced) . Another way that may help you (which you likely already know) is the left front guard has the same shape from the centre line as the right rear (and right front/left rear) . The owner probably doesn't want you to be that fussy , but a good chance to compare will be when disassembling 👍
no but there are special fillers for plastic but 9/10 everyone just uses normal filler . epoxy is only used before filler on steel as it seals the steel so the filler doesnt make it rust . plastic doesnt rust
Hi mate. How’d you’re caravans turn out. Couple of questions, if the drying time on my epoxy tds says 3-4hrs@ 25 degrees does that mean it’s sand-able after that time? I let it dry for a week anyway. And I can see my body filler work after re-epoxied. Should I give it another coat of epoxy or will the high build primer cover that. Cheers
Hi mate . Caravans were crazy! 86 hours worth in 4 days to get them painted! . Now dry time and cure time are different . May I ask what epoxy your using ? I’ll have a read of the tds and let you know . Normally epoxies take a while to dry enough so you can sand it . Depends on how bad the filler work is! I’d hate to say high build will be fine if the repairs need fixing . High build won’t fix everything . Best bet is to block the repairs straight in the epoxy and epoxy again to seal any sand throughs you have
@@BogDustForBreakfast cool. I’ve got another door to epoxy after I cut some rust out so when I paint that I’ll throw another coat over the filler that I can see, I’ll sand it flat with 180 first. Thanks mate.
Prices vary a lot with what needs doing and the standard i need to meet. the prices of materials and paints have gone up heaps over the last few years . most boxes of sand paper are $100 each! and paint alone can cost around $5-6k for a basic metallic. want candy? throw another few grand on top lol . a tidy up "like this" around 15-20k. but every car is different and requires more or less work than others . i normally have a set price to prep and paint and polish the car and an hourly rate to repair it . i don't normally take on jobs like this as i can never guarantee paint wont flake off as i didn't do the work from the start . its too risky most of the time and i prefer not to do them . i made a exception for this car as the owner had followed all my videos and didn't cheap out on paint . he also told me the standard he wants and was clear its not a show car and not to be too fussy. but yeah depending on the car and if its a fresh blasted shell or something like this HZ prices can vary between 15-50k .
Brilliant job
Great chanel, Teacher
thanks jim

Random question do you have to epoxy plastic bumpers before doing filer repairs

Cheers mate I actually planned on making a PDF file for people to download to make their own . Will keep you updated

@@BogDustForBreakfast yeah man, it’s Unicote 339 epoxy. I can’t feel the repair it’s just darker where the filler is.
filler will always suck in the primer and leave a dark spot or ring around the repair . normally several coats hides it @@crazydave7375

The elephant in the room question, what does something like this cost $$$$ wise nowadays?
