Found a school of semi giants, got 1 32-33in on the grips went 15lbs. Been getting them for the last 2 months but definitely hit or miss. Like your videos. Last night winds sucked but I think I can still locate that school. Missed some biggins on top over the last week before the 15.
I am thinking about trying surf fishing. Can you recommend any spots to try for a beginner? I am in Morgan Hill and want to try some spots in the Santa Cruz area. Perch, or any other kind of fish will do.
I'm honestly looking for a fight with a nice fish on the surf , and it looks like you know what your doing . I just bought ur exact set up man . Hopefully I get some action .
Thanks for the info on the SP minnow. I live up the street from your main beach and have had no luck over the years for stripers from the beach. I kill it fresh water but can’t seem to have success surfcasting. Seeing your videos is convincing me to try try again. How’s the striper fishing lately? Thanks again. Maybe see you out there one day
The Striper fishing right now is garbage. You probably have a better chance of hooking into a Seabass than you do a Striper tbh. Halibut has been good lately though
Nice leopard, looked like a female fish, did not see claspers on the picture at 5:31. . Light wise Amazon has a headlamp UV/reg combo that was 30 bucks for 16. keep plugging fish to 30 inches are in the system per the report from Bloody decks Nor-Cal and a few other sources.
Hell yea bro your kill'N it on stripers up there! Couple recommendations in the intro hold the camera up to eye level so the audience is viewing as if they there face to face with you than looking up at you. Bring a head lamp or light of sort if your planning on filming evening to dark. You'll defiantly hit your I believe you said 100 striper keeper goal at the pace your at!
Thanks for the tips I’ll definitely get a light for the late sessions. As for the camera angle, The beach was packed with tourists and I didn’t want to look like a kook talking to a camera so I tried to keep it low key😂. Not the best for YT
Sometimes that 30 minute post sunset bite can be more productive that a whole day of plugging! I'm hoping to get on an epic bite like that soon, maybe I'll see you out there. Tight lines!
The Santa Cruz Surfcaster for sure. Got love it when the bite is on. That shark fight must’ve been fun. I wish i lived a little closer, but its not too far from me. I haven’t hit the water to much this year but a bunch of my crew has been having some good outings.
I got some footage but I'm waiting to squeeze it into a sort of mashup video of some less productive sessions. I did a rigging tutorial and caught three but thats it. Stay on the lookout
My all time favorite is the pencil popper with the SP minnow and LC 115 being my favorite jerkbaits. The Calissa 110 is starting to become one of my go to’s as well but I still need to put more time on it to be sure
@@thesantacruzsurfcaster6231 hey wanted to ask u where i can take my 2 teenage sons near where u fish. I would love to get them on some stripers n halibut. I dont need to go to ur exact spot cuz i kno a lot of guys like their spots to be private as possible n i respect that. But i actually live up in the high desert so id only be going around that area maybe once or twice a year if that. I grew up in salinas actually. So yea my boys will be here in 2 weeks n when i pick them up in sacramento id like to stop in santa cruz on the way back down n try our luck for a few hrs. So if u can give me a street name where i can park n walk down id really appreciate it . thanks
Honestly any open beach has striper, you just have to know how to get em. The Halibut spots are not really open for discussion, you’ll have to put in some time on google maps to find the right areas. Good luck!
No... not another Calissa commercial. You catch fish because you’re a good fisherman, not because of a lure brand. The best lure is the one you use, not the name brand you buy.
I entirely agree although in this situation the Calissa was the tool for the job. The best lure is the one that best fits the conditions. I’m not one to promote the idea that the Calissa is somehow the only lure you’ll ever need.
Nice Job I’m fired up!!!

Nice work Everett! Love your vids they’re not only exciting but also very informative.
Like a Boss you are!! Do you crush down the barbs on your lures?
I crush the barbs on two of the three treble points

Caught 2 stripper keepers on the aquaduct in los banos off anchovie. I want to try surfcasting now I'm hooked
Good luck bro hopefully you kill it. Enjoy that combo

Does anyone know where this is? really wanna take my grandpa out, he’d love it.
How do you like the Okuma SST so far?
Really great casting rod, I highly recommend it
😳must’ve followed the lure in! That was awesome the battery lasted enough to get that action!

Great stuff brothah!
Have yet to catch anything on the LC lures... Thinking of hitting up seabright beach, I'm from Hollister, am I allowed too?
Nope, anyone from out of county will be told to leave and possibly fined. They’re checking too
@@thesantacruzsurfcaster6231 Do you know how they are checking?
They’re running license plates
Goid shit man. Had one if my best days out there last year. Caught 30 keeper size stripers on the late night sesh.

Nice man congrats on the striper and the Leopard. Was this filmed before the red tide? Water looks amazing
nice job bro, keep it up! how many stripers so far this year towards your goal?
SEASIDE ROOTS 6 so far but Im still editing some of the recent sessions
Awesome dude! No Texas video using them floater techniques? 😂

F in chat for my poor fish handling abilities the other night
Bro at this rate you’ll loose 100 striper before I catch 100 striper
@@thesantacruzsurfcaster6231 is that a challenge
You’re going to have your share Eli. Just keep fishing!
That's the "Witching hour" just before dark...That's when life turns on in the sea. Most of the time I do best at or after sunset...
Do you have a facebook page ?
Richard Saldivar nope

Bill Frediani it’s a floating 5 1/8 inch lazer sardine SP
Yo bro I'm from San jose, awesome vids. Were do you think I should go surfcasting for strippers in santa cruz?
If you’re looking for strippers I think this is the wrong channel...
Are you letting lure hit bottom?
It’s a floating lure so no
