I think you would rather have movement boosters or engagement kinds of skills, but you really have to be careful about going full action combat.
i was watching another streamer play and i came up with an idea that watching your video and seeing there is already sorta a system makes me more convinced of Add class techs, conditions that under the right circumstances auto activate skills on switch, for example if the player is about to get hit switching to a defender activates their block skill. Theres other alternative to adding dodge button, like swapping to defender when youre about to take big hit. But on top of that each class need some sort of identity because atm they dont have trait and from what i see all class play similar to each other. maybe give a guard button for defender, parry for guard, and the dodge for caster, maybe add another active defensive skill for each character on top of that. honestly the option is endless and theres alot of room to improve.
I think all charas should have a dodge and/or block, but maybe they have slight differences between classes. Like defenders have less stagger after blocking.
I hope and pray that the arknigts community and even new potential players will not rush Endfield devs, pls learn from the past. Its better to have a solid game at start than a hot garbage mediocre game early
Genshin's team building are indeed in depth on how you set up reactions. Mechanically yeah it gets repetitive as their is usually 1 rotation you do every time. The problem in genshin is that its almost always going to get you the win aside from maybe floor 12 abyss that requires positioning. If there was a way to make encounters more dynamic and you will have to adapt to the changes that would be amazing. If AKE will do this sounds fun. Another way to look at the skills timing however in AKE is that we have no idea the optimal rotation so eventually AKE may become Genshin-like when we figure out more about combat. Not saying its bad just laying down the possibility as I love quick swap combat systems to perform combos. Really looking forward to this style of combat as I play Tales games and I really love seeing all my party members in a fight rather than just have 1 character on field only. Seeing all characters really makes me feel you're not alone in the fight.
It's really good for technical test and the fact the game is still techalpha 0.1.4 if release is ver. 1.0 so there's still a long way, and more time to improve. And about the problems that we're having about the game they asked it in the survey as if they already know but wanted to hear what people want, hence the tech test. Personally what i felt about the game it need to change how skill works and Operator at least have 2 active skill and ultimate with separate button. When you engaged in battle with Ultimate Ready and use it the main skill also get in cooldown. Since it has same button there's no Combo or strategy except for Avywenna. If main skill and ultimate have separate button there's so much Combo and Strategy.
I think they should add a auto-recovery skill for the basic attack. They have follow up attack after skill cast, then while doing basic you trigger a passive skill. Also for the swapping, if they can't switch to other characters camera perhaps add a QTE for swap or an animation where characters interact when swapping.
I had a weird ass dream where they updated the Arknights base and honestly endfields version is literally better than my imagination (I don’t play factorio)
i agree with most the takes in this video though I would still like there to be some improvement with combat since some people definitely do NOT have the same viewpoint or like you mentioned the beginning of the game is boring as hell with only two people on your team also 24:08 was the realest shit you have ever said
If I had to say about the combat. I'll say this is basically Xenoblade chronicle playstyle but with four party, four arts skill to use and four different class to run with
After Wuthering Waves' release. Endfield is the next gacha I'm looking forward the most. The others truly doesn't interest me. I'm glad Endfield went the strategy action genre rather than hack and slash. Also, love the art direction, a combination of semi-cel shaded feel and "realism."
I really do not want dodging or blocking in this maybe blocking is fine if they make it have a cooldown idk but dodging does not feel right for an mmo-ish system of combat, it's easy enough to tell when an attack is coming but yeah the animation lock is a bit much in this games case
For real, some tourists literally cannot comprehend that strategy and resource management is Hypergryph's bread and butter, not action. There's no point trying to compete in an oversaturated market that they have no experience in.
@@draaxus2969 they were the ones that dabbled in 3rd person open world action first, and it's really just a dodge action, really almost no different from the jump action it's already got.
@@draaxus2969 What strategy? Running around waiting for skills CD doesn't sound strategic to me. No tactical RTwP gameplay (only 4 active skills?), no gambit/tactics system, and character switch instead of camera switch. Currently, the combat is a clunky, weird mish-mash of tactical RPG and action RPG. I enjoy both types of gameplay, but what they offer now just doesn't work, they need to fully commit to one side or the other. Either go full action rpg, add dodge and make combat faster (which is far easier to implement) or full RTwP with actual depth and cuztomizable AI.
Tsunui i'm just going to say that a dodge ability would most likely ruin the game balance and we'll end up with a guard enfield where DPS is prioritized. If you've played games that has classes there are classes that specializes in not getting hit, like rogues or ninja where they can back step/blink out. Tanks have a strong block or damage mitigation, fighters have parry, range dps have a shoot and scoot, and mages just accepts their fate or use a spell to negate incoming damage. A dodge action would be counter productive to the flow of the battle turning a strategy based game into a reaction base game. bidding them to a skill will force you to think 'Do i avoid this little guy's attack or do i save it for a bigger one?" or "The dodge will get me to reposition faster in a more adventageous position for my next skill but i'll be unable to dodge incoming damage for X seconds" which feels like the kind of gameplay the devs are going for. Adding a block button would also damage the flow of battle but can be countered using the same solution above, make tanks actually useful to be there to tank the hit, giving a skill that for example mitigates the incoming damage, or returns damage to the hitter, or heal a portion of their health etc... I'd much rather not have another guardknight issue again.
I'm glad this was only a technical test. It's decent the way it is now. It can and will be better (or worse, but I hope not). I hope the story is just a placeholder for the alpha test, and they will refine it later. Also, I can't wait to commit warcrime and become the Onceler from Lorax.
maybe make the chance to create orbs or whatever like 80 percent on damaging moves, and moves that have 100 chance will do no damage. kinda the same way pokemon balances its games
good video, good explanation. and there will definitely be party poppers carrying the name Genshin. and compare game that have been around for 3 years, and games that have only been tested for 3 months. Surely that person is always sad every day and takes it out on someone to disturb someone's fun. what a pity for their life.
I really want this game to be good, Open world RPG like GI wuthering wave and etc are great, but i really want to see other character joining combat like aether gazer
I also played the alpha test, I think the game provide two different experence for the combat, maybe it's just my personal feeling, I found the battle against mobs/elites (crisis raid included) is quite different comparing the boss fights, especially the final boss. In the boss fight, as the target has tons of special moves and won't be affacted by my skills like lift off, knock down, push, etc. Still I found both are quite interesting especially in late game when my guys has higher level of skills and gears. Overall, I'm very impressed as the company is still very young and this is the 1st 3d game for most of the core teammembers. And the content and performance of the build is also exceed what player could expect from a tech alpha. I think even the build launched on Steam as a single player PC game as Early Access is good enough. Players are comparing this tech alpha towards release version of 2a or 3a console/pc game, which is already a win for the potential of this game. Looking forward to its 2nd round test this year.
Since combat and movement are 90 % of what you do every day in the game, I hope they focus their efforts on it first. Then the story please. I need some good story hooks to keep playing or I would've be farming in Arknights for 2 years. A good story is essential for my long term motivation. Also who cares about characters if their background is boring.
I would have to try it to be sure, but i think there is merit in not having a dodge, they have to make the attacks avoidable (even if not all of them), but i fear that just adding a dodge button the game would be too similar to most recent gacha (Genshin, wuwa, zzz). Being similar to sometihng like wow, where you need a tank and a support would make it more unique and keep it more similar to arknights, where you usually need tanks and sustains. Now a dodge could still be impelemented, but maybe have it on a cooldown and not let it be spammable like the other games, like even a 5-10 sec cd would probably be fine. Anyway, really hope i can get to try the game coz obviously these is all just speculation from images etcc so my opinion could very well change when i actually try playing it
"took final fantasy and somehow made it less furry" my guy this is a series where every character the player controls is a furry, that is cap and a half
if it become a game like elden ring where you can use your skills to beat a boss and also beat it with upgrading your character if you're not so skill it's going to be 100 out of 10
Based off of what you described and the footage, combat looks like Xenoblade Chronicles? From the whole, no blocking/dodging (unless it's a passive), launching them, slamming them back down, and using status ailments for more damage. I am absolutely not a fan of the new base building though. It doesn't look enjoyable and not my thing, so I'll use a guide if I play this. I am also hoping the world doesn't feel empty to explore or have boring NPCs since that is part of the meat for adventure games. Fingers crossed that I might like this one.
@@Tsunul from what you showed in this vid its 100% based off xenoblade. I'm pretty sure they even mentioned it in the beta survey, crazy to think how influential the xeno games has been to gacha/gaming in general yet how little people know of it.(it was also a big inspiration to genshin along with zelda botw which was also made by the xeno team)
People do be talking like this is the CBT version of the game... I would like to remind you that, this is the pre-alpha test. Yes, not even in the alpha phase yet. This game is in very early stage of development, and they only want to test the core mechanics for now. Almost everything else are made to be as barebone and minimal as possible, including the storyline and writings.
Nice video. I still think the MMO like combat is janky because in actual MMO both you and the enemies have auto attack, in this game however you need to smash left click.
I mean compared to wuwa, Endfield has way better writing. The story is purposely made to be a place holder in a tech test. How do I know that? Many big companies do it like this, HSR was also like Endfield story but changed during CBT 1 and wuwa tech test didn't even had a story, no VA or story arc. Everything was added in CBT. Endfield story only tells you about world building stuff and introduces you to a few characters and game mechanics. Nothing more nothing less. There is no ongoing plot or character arc it's just a fetch quest to retrieve angelina. Usually it's done because they don't want to write themselves into the corner, before they settle for a good base(core gameplay) for their game.
The town? Or factory? I watched 4hrs gameplay and I don't see any living quarters it looks like living beings don't belong to that place. They could improve this by adding more building that has actual interior, having npcs resting and working inside instead of stand standing around doing nothing. Hell they could even add a slum inside this game and it won't feel out of place, I remembered hearing a npc telling they couldn't adjust to the life inside city so they moved to suffer more outside kek😂, this is unbelievable, human should stick together in a dangerous world having community going on in the same place, don't scatter around as small camps. At the end of the day human needs entertainment even in apocalypse, I'd like to see NPC play something, making sound. Also i don't understand why they feel like they have to place leftover containers all over the map.
I hope they dont drown you with poor writing like in the main game they kinda did. Im hopeful they'll fix the combat but storywise I really hope they fix some of the story telling
I wonder if my pc will scream in pain just to play this game in the future(cause im interested)... My pc could handle darksiders 2... But well that game is old game and offline... I haven't had a chance to try it yet, but I feel like the the base building is gonna feel bad without splitters and mergers for conveyor belts edit: seeing that getting gear for characters is some hoyoverse-ass stat-rng grind killed most of my desire to even try this game. It really just looks like they're trying to take all of the worst aspects of genshin and giving them an arknights spin.
@@Tsunul Hell yeah splitters and mergers!! Gearing having any amount of rng is still a massive red flag for me, though. If building a character isn't deterministic, then the game has zero respect for players' time. I'm not interested in endlessly grinding just for a full set of decent equipment for a single character.
@@rhael42the equipment are static though, the only rng in the game is from weapon essence and it's up to you whether or not you want to min max that stuff and look for better stats.
Considering the only gacha game i still believe in th goodwill of the devs is limbus, and after how easy you said the leveling is, the one main question is, does it have the bullshit that is Combat Deficit system or no? Aka "Oh you can play as much as you want, but sorry you'll be cockblocked by atk deficit crap and every enemy is now a damn spoonge because you reached the point the difference of your party atk power to them is higher than 100, enjoy waiting for literall weeks until you get enough ressources to level up again and win before the next cockblock, teehee"
It does have a sanity system but I felt like the progression was pretty much the same as a regular game. Whenever an enemy was tanky I had the sanity to level up. Or I could do some stuff in my base that would produce exp for leveling or healing items that'd make the battle easier. And it doesn't do any arbitrary restrictions like "Battle power less than 4000, you now deal 20% reduced damage". Endfield's progression just feels like a regular games.
And those single target skills feel really bad, the damage is average and cant trigger orb reaction. The orb system feels half baked it needs a lot of adjustment
i really wish endfiled doesn't go too hard into the genshin like game and keeps as much as it can from arknights what i would like is that they keep the "challenges are hard and require thinking and positioning but you can replay them automaticly after you beat them", i hate the domains and the grinding dungeons in genshin because they are fun at fist but become rly boring and higher lvls become just stat checks, soo i love auto deploy mecanic in arknights, makes grinding soo much more easy In general i hope they keep their focus on making very good stories, makes combat tactical varied and doesn't require me to think when i have to do grinding.
Endfield is sadly more focused on base building than combat, its combat is like bullet time spam with un controllable characters that you can only use skills of, its a weird mechanic but nothing better than Og arknights for sure

Oh wow i didnt know about the extra break, great video man
I think they should add a auto-recovery skill for the basic attack.
I'll say this is basically Xenoblade chronicle playstyle but with four party, four arts skill to use and four different class to run with
From what I've heard, basically lol.
If Let's Game It Out found out about the factory part... hell is about to break lose...
After Wuthering Waves' release. Endfield is the next gacha I'm looking forward the most. The others truly doesn't interest me. I'm glad Endfield went the strategy action genre rather than hack and slash. Also, love the art direction, a combination of semi-cel shaded feel and "realism."
Please come out soon, I need something to waste my time on.
There's definitely a lot that they need to adjust/fix and based on some of the survey questions i feel like they know most of it.
Hold up. Angelina? I thought this was set in the far future of the Arknights world
23:02 i just noticed this and am gonna start paying attention to it on other charas too, but i love how loose the hair in her face moves here
Ok, the base factory sold me instantly. I need this.
It's not "Base (Beta)", it's "Base, Beta". "The Base is here, you Beta" HG are calling you a Beta for needing it pointed out where to find the base.
I really do not want dodging or blocking in this
maybe blocking is fine if they make it have a cooldown idk
but dodging does not feel right for an mmo-ish system of combat, it's easy enough to tell when an attack is coming but yeah the animation lock is a bit much in this games case
For real, some tourists literally cannot comprehend that strategy and resource management is Hypergryph's bread and butter, not action. There's no point trying to compete in an oversaturated market that they have no experience in.
Ally commands, no position swapping and better AI is all that is needed. Dodging or blocking is good but it's not really necessary.
@@draaxus2969 they were the ones that dabbled in 3rd person open world action first, and it's really just a dodge action, really almost no different from the jump action it's already got.
I don't wanna dodging or anything that nullify damage
I take the hit like a real man
@@draaxus2969 What strategy?
Not really worried about a game that's currently doing tech tests lol.
The irony of Arknights world being less furry than Final Fantasy despite AK humans are nonexistent.
Not bad, will wait and see how it goes
good video, good explanation.
and there will definitely be party poppers carrying the name Genshin.
and compare game that have been around for 3 years, and games that have only been tested for 3 months.
Surely that person is always sad every day and takes it out on someone to disturb someone's fun.
what a pity for their life.
There's one already down in the comment section , unless you were referring to them lol
@@dindapriska I'm waiting for the next wave, it will always happen in every endfield discussion.
HG : Warcriminal factory
And I love it that way
That DMC "father and son bonding" thing is user generated... in other words, an inside joke by players.
I know, I'm the one that uploaded it lmao
Ex astris is almost release.....so they might focusing on developing arknights endfield next.
I can see a good time during honeymoon periode and then becomes bored after hitting content cap and doing monthly side content event 😅
Might play this one...
I really want this game to be good, Open world RPG like GI wuthering wave and etc are great, but i really want to see other character joining combat like aether gazer
The combat reminds me of persona 5 strikers with tankier mobs
the character faces impression during ulti still not alively enough
I just want a dodge button that can also cancel cast.
Looking forward to its 2nd round test this year.
gameplay reminds me of Mass effect 2/3 but if it were an ARPG instead of a 3rd person shooter. Can't wait for it to launch.
ill wait for the gacha to see if this will live up.the fact they didnt include it is pretty sus
I'm 4mnths late but this is a really good review. Thanks a lot
Anyway, really hope i can get to try the game coz obviously these is all just speculation from images etcc so my opinion could very well change when i actually try playing it
Remind me of Dragon Age : Inquisition but with break mechanic instead of just backstab crit
"took final fantasy and somehow made it less furry" my guy this is a series where every character the player controls is a furry, that is cap and a half
Kemonomimi ≠ furry.
if it become a game like elden ring where you can use your skills to beat a boss and also beat it with upgrading your character if you're not so skill it's going to be 100 out of 10
oh wow, you need to think where to use your abilities, be careful not to waste an ability or you won't have enough dps to clear a stage
If it wasn't for PGR and Wuthering Waves this one would be on my radar
16:23 me ;)
Hey cool to see ya, thanks for all the guides.
Devil May Cry 5 being a father son bonding game is the funniest shit ever
Actually the combat for me looked like it's closer to something like Dragon Age Inquisition
Happi kaltsit.. how?!
So the combat is like the higan eruthyll's combat.
I haven't play Xenoblade yet but a lot of people were saying its really similar to it in my stream chat.
It is like Xenoblade, but without multiple active skills and position-heavy effects (not yet anyway)
The base building is exactly what I'm waiting for, the factory must grow!
I'm hype for the official release 😊
People do be talking like this is the CBT version of the game...
I would like to remind you that, this is the pre-alpha test. Yes, not even in the alpha phase yet. This game is in very early stage of development, and they only want to test the core mechanics for now. Almost everything else are made to be as barebone and minimal as possible, including the storyline and writings.
"TWIST YOUR BALLS"
Nice video.
I still think the MMO like combat is janky because in actual MMO both you and the enemies have auto attack, in this game however you need to smash left click.
Thankfully you can just hold down left click to auto attack. Unfortunately they never really tell you that though lol.
@@Tsunul Can you attack while moving ? Cause in the game where there is no dodge or block, being lock in an attack animation feel very bad.
@@suspiciouslurker3826 Nope, you can't move. The only way to animation cancel it now is to jump.
With what is happening with Wuthering waves right now i hope they will change the story, and don't lean too much towards Hoyo games
3:00 sure this combo is fun but thats the only combo you will do over and over...
Tectone needs to see this
The town?
I hope this game will have good optimization for old pc like mine... Unlike.. ahem ToF...
I hope the weapon gacha is like in ToF which... You got weapon = you get the character.
I hope this game release this year
You are not in luck. The game is still in its alpha build. It would take them another year before launch. Devs promised us 2nd alpha test by end of this year.
@@YandereENjoyer4469and were only in the alpha dang Imagine what it's gonna look like once they finished cooking I cannot wait to see the final product
I haven't had a chance to try it yet, but I feel like the the base building is gonna feel bad without splitters and mergers for conveyor belts
edit: seeing that getting gear for characters is some hoyoverse-ass stat-rng grind killed most of my desire to even try this game. It really just looks like they're trying to take all of the worst aspects of genshin and giving them an arknights spin.
There are splitters and convergers for belts. And the stat difference in the gear is fairly minimal from what I've seen.
Anime factorio? More likely than you think!
Jokes aside, your script writing skills are improving with every scripted video.
So we're going SimCity on this one? Interesting
Let the devs cook!
You gonna try wuthering waves next? Been hearing great things about it.
I applied for the cbt so I'm hoping I can get accepted.
500 years later we still doing warcrime
Red is always best 👌
i will play if only i see kal drops
I have bad news for you.
Game looks fun
so it is like action games but not really an action games? didn't really understand the gameplay of it though...
Ngl i've seen hundreds of this kind of games. It's life span will be short
Orbs eurned like in god of war 2.
What do you think about roland on the Nintendo switch?
All in all, pretty godlike.
@@Tsunuljust hope rng gear is not too dependant on the games enjoyment, despised it in genshin
Ngl the base building part reminds me if those roblox games (i forgot the genre's name)
Tycoons?
@@HyperrealLee_ yes
The combat is more like Xenoblade than anything.
And those single target skills feel really bad, the damage is average and cant trigger orb reaction.
The orb system feels half baked it needs a lot of adjustment
This dude sounds like dunkey
i really wish endfiled doesn't go too hard into the genshin like game and keeps as much as it can from arknights
what i would like is that they keep the "challenges are hard and require thinking and positioning but you can replay them automaticly after you beat them", i hate the domains and the grinding dungeons in genshin because they are fun at fist but become rly boring and higher lvls become just stat checks, soo i love auto deploy mecanic in arknights, makes grinding soo much more easy
In general i hope they keep their focus on making very good stories, makes combat tactical varied and doesn't require me to think when i have to do grinding.
11:34 uh...
Endfield is sadly more focused on base building than combat, its combat is like bullet time spam with un controllable characters that you can only use skills of, its a weird mechanic but nothing better than Og arknights for sure
Bro your forgot the title 'Endfield Industry'
Man that base is spaghettified.. I LOVE IT!
