Man, I can barely do my job on 7 hours of sleep for 9 hour shift, Kev out here working 36 hours on 3 hours of sleep, dang, thanks for all your hard work! Miki-you hair super cute!
Kev looks and sounds so passionate about his job and i salute him for that. Some people are into being a doctor for the 💲but i can tell that Kev genuinely likes to help people and feels rewarded seeing the patients even after a long hard day. Good on you Kev! Its really inspiring and I hope you get at least 6 hours of sleep tonight!
Man Kevin still has the patience to let u keep vlogging him while he is going through hell kinda😭😭he is a good man Miki n so are u!!u both compliment each other!❤️😘
my aunt has been a nurse in emergency, icu, cardiology and now i think the neurology department she is in now but has been doing for 35 years bless her heart and every healthcare worker bless your souls and hearts for helping us get better and dedicating your time and sleep to be there for us truly appreciate it
As a heathcare worker, I have to say it is not about money.... if you are not into your profession, you can not do it no matter how good your salary is and Kev made it more clear through this video....
I’m a student nurse during these crazy covid times and I’ve been working a lot of 16 hour shifts this summer to help keep staffing up and I can definitely sympathize…. The pager is the worst sound in the world.
@@TopVillain Well mainly the T and possibly E (I heard its getting tough for Engineers). Nursing would probably be a good choice if you want to work in health care without going through the schooling an MD goes through.
@@TopVillain To go into medicine purely for how much Doctor’s make (knowing how long and hard the journey will be) is not worth it. In short, majority of people who take this path are definitely not doing it for the money 😊.

Watching this video definitely increased my respect for the magnitude of a doctor's work. I really commend Kevin for his work and Miki for sacrificing for the sake of their relationship. Love you both!
Seeing the both of you work and be productive like that gives me an adrenaline boost as a high school student lol. I'm not going to choose medicine cause I normally don't stand taking care of people the way doctors do... I love helping but not like that😅. I wanna be in the law field so I'm fighting my 2 last years of high school to get scholarships to move abroad. Thank you for all your services for taking care of people. And thanks Miki for having Kevin's back.
I think it’s a drop in the bucket!!😂 love these videos y’all are the best 💗💗 my boyfriend is in med school and these always give us more insight to what his life will be like!!
Hi just wanted to say you guys are such an awsome team. Its wonderful to c u two be there for each other. I wish i had that support wen i was a resident, and really feel that Kevin is so calm. Iv been medical field nw 10yrs and i mostly do emergency med and gp work and Kevin has more personality u need as a good health care provider, cos wen im tired im cranky and mean😒 how do you stay focused after these long shifts i still dnt hv a answer.
Omg! Good luck, you can do it! Very thankful for all the hard work Doctor, Nurses and all the frontline workers do🙌🏻 I hope you will have a good rest after your shift🌻
This video made my day,you ,two are so cute .Seeing two happy couples supporting each other and understanding each other in any kind of hardships is so cool .
Am i the only one who thinks that there are not enough doctors? Im from austria an it seems to be the same in Our country. It's so unbelievable that only one Person can handle consults in 3 different Hospitals, seeing so many Patients and still being productive and ok with it.. There are some ( live changing) desicions to make for other people and its so hard to believe that this is possible with that much stress. Wow.
I’m a nursing student and my bf is a med student and I get lonely at times as well. Sometimes we spend weeks without seeing eachother because of our busy schedules 😭 it can be hard at times but we’re trying to make it work
Don't worry...you guys will make it through...just requires little bit of patience, honesty, clear communication and well laid out expectations from each other and from the relationship as a whole....oh I almost forgot the main thing ...lots of ❤️❤️❤️.
Loved this video, Kevin is a superman 💪 And Miki you’re the best girlfriend and Kevin is so lucky to have your love and support through the residency 🙂 Btw the editing on the video is 💯! Love the cute frames and little Lucky in the corner hehe

I just finished the good doctor so you uploading this made me very glad. I know one is a tv show and him doing his job is real, but it's interesting. Definitely would like to watch some more videos of you Miki when you have long shifts & Kev. Looking forward to watching more of your videos! :)

I was planning to go on medicine after my pre med, thank you for showing me what it's like! God bless on both your hard work! 😭💗 I never expected it'd be this tiring 😭 but it'll be worth it
@@eugenek.9959 This is one of those questions I could write an essay on 😅 There’s a lot of reasons, but usually what determines the length of a call shift for a given speciality is: call volumes, compensation structure, number of doctors in a call group and if it’s in house (you don’t leave the hospital at all) or “home call” (you are home until you get called in). At least for my call group: we do low risk OB, and are a group of 5 doctors, we’re billed “per delivery” (so you’re less likely to actually get paid for the work you do on short shifts) and do “home call.” So our schedule is one day per week and one 3 day weekend every 5 weeks. That worked well when our volumes were lower, but they’ve increased now so we’re actually looking at transitioning to a 2 day call shift instead. In house call is almost always capped at 24 hours in my experience. But yes, at the volumes we’re at now it 100% impairs your performance as you may be awake for way too many hours in a row or are only grabbing interrupted sleep.
I work as a travel, live-in CNA and it's so interesting how doctors do it in hospitals. I'm nervous and excited to work 36 hours. This will be so convenient compared to 3 12-hour shifts (I tried to do 1 24-hour shift, unfortunately, work was not THAT accommodating).
i want to be a forensic pathologist (which includes having to be a doctor first) but i can’t do medical school because i work full time to support myself :( i tried doing a youtube channel with ASMR but it’s so discouraging because of the amount of amazing youtubers on this platform so i’m like why would anyone wanna watch me and support me? lmao thank y’all so much for your dedication and strive to work healthcare, i also live in Seattle and it’s amazing knowing you’re in the city helping others.
I can imagine what that loneliness feels like. My advice would be to just remind yourself what he's doing. His work is so important that it is not bound by conventional hours or schedules. Same with my job. At the hiring event, they told us "You won't miss everything. But you're gonna miss a lot. It is not a convenient life. But that's why we pay you what we do. We pay you well to have an inconvenient life." It's not unlike having a family member in the military. In their case, they're gone for months at a time, and you literally grow up while they're away. But as you get older, you realize that the work they're doing is important, it's 24/7, and it's reason to be proud of them and love them more.
This is so helpful to watch yalls videos. I want to be some sort of nurse or doctor and watching these really help with knowing what its like. Thank you for teaching!
