Even as the Prince of Darkness, Gabriel just can't catch a break
We have the similar story in our Persian culture written in the Shahnameh. Rostam & Sohrab, the son got killed by his father without him knowing that he is his son, in the end and by the time he found that.. it was too late.
Reminds me of that one Skyrim story where two opposing warriors fought each other without the knowledge that they were brothers on opposite sides of a war
@@jeremyallen5974 It's great that you brought that up because in real life, the man that defeated Vlad III Tepes was actually his only surviving brother Radu.
Radu knew who Vlad was during battle. But Vlad didn't know at first that it was Radu who volunteered and lead the Janissaries against him as the vanguard of an invasion.
Radu managed to convince almost the entire realm to betray Vlad leading to his eventual death.

I like the original timeline, but damn Dracula's story is easily more tragic in this universe. When someone goes through all of what he went through, how can you NOT lose your mind and become the next evil incarnate?
Right? Im not saying its better than the original version but the tragedy in this version makes it so unique and special if their goal was to shine the light on dracula and make him the hero they really nailed it and honestly since netflix is making animations of it i really hope they touch this version of castlevania i just know if would be a big hit
@@josegarza7175 nice to have them incorporate this version of Dracula. I also think I already know for the fact that we’re not getting you know a similar vain to what Castlevania Lord of shadow two was even though that story was a bit off. I enjoyed it for what it is.

A bit late on this .. but well, you aren't supposed to pull out an impaled object from a person's body if you really want to save them. Gabriel didn't got enough medical training I guess

To be fair he was trying to turn him so it does make sense to remove the stake-like object in this case. Otherwose he would have died as soon as he completes his transformation

This was kind of sad in Mirror of Fate, if Trevor said it, Gabriel would have known and maybe something wouldn't have happened as it did. OTOH, maybe nothing would change.
Wrong everything can change but only by choice even the smallest can change everything depending on what you do. Hate blinds even the best of us.

i dont care if the LoS series isn't canon. the voice acting is A tier. and the cast couldn't have been picked better
I enjoyed Mirror of Fate a lot. I still don't get why they did the chapters the way they did with going backwards, but still a fun game nonetheless.
I felt the same way at first but playing the game now 4 times its grown on me but I can understand where your coming from
Because Mercury Steam thought they were being clever with the big twist of "Alucard" and Trevor Belmont being the same person in this timeline

@@ironmonger9828 I am glad you enjoyed it. I think it is because most people upload low audio quality, the game audio is good and voice acting is superb, except for the punctuation pauses Gaberial takes.
Might of been a completely different outcome if Trevor just told Dracula his name before they fought 🤔

If Clarkin Batman V Superman immediately told Bruce that his mom was kidnapped and they are being manipulated by Lex, outcomes would have been different. This has the same vibes as that.

Honestly, I fucking hate it when games do this. If Trevor was going to lose no matter what, why bother with the fucking battle at all? Especially when the player utterly dominates the fight, it just seems forced when the character loses "just because".

I enjoyed the Lords of Shadows.
I think the lords of shadows saga is great but it has the exact same issue as another reboot DMC Devil May Cry people hate the game because it shares the same name alongside the main series call it literally anything else and people will view it as a good game the tagline The Lords Of Shadows could be a replacement name since adding castlevania to it drags it down because the series is much more grand than this saga
The best Lords of Shadow was the first one. Mirror of Fate essentially had nostalgia points for some side scrolling whip wielding mechanics from older Castlevania games, and Lords of Shadow 2 had a disappointing ending, along with the game being a mess to play through.
The aesthetic is great
Its a shame they screwed up the last game so badly. The first 2 had a pretty good story.
And then LoS 2 came along and basically told a WORSE story than the one we got in Blood Omen 2.
They even have similar storylines of vampire lords getting thrashed and coming to an inordinate amount of time later in the hussle and bussle of a city-scape future
The story in 2 was great just its execution was so bad I think it would have been better for Gabriel to be redeemed and still find true death with Marie and re enter heaven like in the 92 Dracula that would have been a fire way to go but agreed Los 2 crapped the bed
@@Uzuhl For me, every 3 games were amazing for it's own way. First for climat and plot, mirror for showing that our Prince of Darkness still have something from human, and second game for showing Dracula's way to "coming back to Father's home".
I fell like that entire trilogy(if i can namie them tah way), is simplified human life. First you give your all, then you lose everything you love, have believe, puting out your anger on evryone and everything, then finally, understanding that everything that you have got throught was only to make you better person, that everything not yeat all lost, that will cherisch that alledy have and going throught live.
I always loved that scene whele Gabriel understood that God's mask only let you "see with God's eyes", which I understand that everynone in His eyes are live, have chance for salvation, even sinner like Dracula/Gabriel. I see 2-nd game as redemption arc for him, when he can see his boy, like he always want, as his son who stay by him, and again his beloved wife, who despite being kiled by him(unintentionaly), still want good for him. I think that this 2-sided gameplay(city-castle) is to represent Dracula's state of mind, where he fights in castle with his inner demons, and try to find his "lost" live, and city, that is to prove that he can change.
To end this monologue, I fell that this somehow strange ending is still the best, than making next game over and over again to inly see how they destory the series. I only want to see new game from this godforsaken series(personaly i see that as combination beetwen Witcher(europan-like climat), Dark Souls(fighting sistem that will prove you that you really are Belmont), as RPG game where you can make choices that will afect world around you e.g. like finding wife of choosing your way to kiling moster(brutaly, or beliving that there is still salvation for them)(I have more ideas, Konami, hear me)).

My god I have never seen this, and i thought this lords of shadows trash could not get any worse. it es even worse noe that the animated series is out.

Yeah, no, that would be because nobody has made a mainline Castlevania game on any major system in decades lol. The reboot sold pretty well, but the majority of gamers went off metroidvanias until recently.
If you think this killed the franchise and not Konami just throwing it to the wayside after Igarashi left (to make Bloodstained which is basically Castlevania 2.0l, and the handheld consoles, the major focus for Castlevania games in the early to mid 2000s all the way up to 2009, gradually became way less popular, I would think that's a you issue lol.
Lord of Shadows itself scored higher than some mainline games, Mirror of Fate did well for a 3DS game, and LoS2 still did relatively well despite having significant issues. It's been over a decade since then, we even have a Castlevania show, if Konami wanted to make more Castlevania, they would have. But Igarashi was gone, and he was the major driving force behind the Castlevania franchise, nobody else seems to want anything to do with it at Konami.
If you want more Castlevania in the classic sense, go play Bloodstained.

@@Back.sh0tsBut Lords of Shadow 1 was better than the Lords of Shadow games that followed it. Mirror of Fate was okay, I mean the gameplay mechanics were similar to older CV games with the whip mechanics and side scrolling gameplay. But LoS 2 was a mess. And do I mean a mess. Lords of Shadow 1 was also literally the highest selling game with the word “Castlevania” in the title.
It’s nowhere near as good as the original timeline, but the first Lords of Shadow was still very fun and impressive in many ways.
