I'm not 100% sure but I think letting the cutscene for 2500 kills play out could potentially have saved one or two seconds. The mission complete sequence can finish while the timer is paused due to the cutscene the same way as on Maw of the Void. Might not work here though But great run in any case!
"Overmind are you sure it actually went down like that?" "Yeah, i think the Protoss p much had everything under control, until they had a panic attack and blew up their entire base and all remaining leaders, and then stood in a field to face their death not a second after the Protoss Archive was uploaded to the cloud."
You know, I always wondered why some of Amon's hybrids never rebelled with the thought "why do we have to serve you if we're the future?" then I see them during "Behold, my greatest creation" and it now makes sense.
Even today I am still mentally incapacitated to play this mission on any difficulty. But recently I beat All In in brutal without launching a single artefact nova, so maybe I finally could overcome my mental hurdle and clear this mission on brutal.
"Behold my greatest creation!" They do the shimmy and die ineffectually. "Executor Selendis! Unleash the full power of your forces!" They open fire on friendly targets. "There's just too many of them!" Is killed by friendly fire with not a zerg in sight. This is my favorite comedy mission.
After trying and failing a few times to defend the mission from three sides I just decided to wall off the upperside with gateways while building cannon, phoenix and colossi for the first waves, then making void rays and then maxing out supply with carriers. After Mohandar and Selendis it was much easier to get the 2500 kills.
I thought that you would be just slightly off, but i watched the timer and the mission ended just as you cleared the bonus objective... My slight ocd liked that!
They have made this mission quite a bit harder these days. It spawns 3 overseers at a time multiple times. And since they have 3 armor it means your fleet is toast.
Artanis in this timeline: Yeaaaah, no. See y'all later. (Flies the Heart of Auir away from Auir along with the guys he'd normally warp in with, and then he proceeds to be the sole Protoss overseeing the rebuilding of his entire race, with just the Protoss onboard the mothership)

for ppl who're gonna do the infinite zergling nydus trick on hard, unfortunately on hard it spawns broodlings instead of zerglings, which don't count as kills.
You have to use your observers to spot when they are grouping up outside of the base for an attack and then you take your air units out and snipe the overseer before they come in for the attack he does it in the video if you watch closely. He probably knows the exact time the enemy waves spawn as well he put some effort in for this strat.
@@justinnolte3205 Hmm I don't know but my observers were destroyed every time I sent one out and where out of range from the spore crawlers. The Overseers would spot them out quickly, eventually I stopped making them and just did the old fashion way.
great video, that's some awesome idea... but this is strange...i tried to replicate this to farm zerg kills (on that golden base side) , my 3 DT there kill them like crazy but the kill count does not increase somehow (and i notice that the nydus worm there does not spit out usual zerg units but those little ones when you destroy a zerg building)... so ... no luck :/ still cannot beat this level
This is amazing man! I'd give it a try too. Hopefully i can kill the overseers at the right time too. One question, the 3 DTs on the gold base are they on hold? How come they don't kill the nydus worm? Thanks!
Stu explains this at 12:57. He built that Nexus so that the last nydus worm spawns near the gold minerals, and you can see him putting the Dark Templar on hold, as you've asked. The purpose of that is to take advantage of the endless Zergling spawns which add to Stu's kill count, getting him to 2500 kills much more quickly.
Stu stops attacking every once in a while so as to not overwhelm the infinite Zerglings spawn rate. Considering that the DT wall doesn't need much APM other than sniping the Overseers, he has the attention to spare for the three DTs.
Normally, I enjoy missions like this but clearly this is a very broken mission. How the heck are you SUPPOSED to beat this? The previous mission on Brutal was actually quite fun - it was designed so that even a non-expert like me can complete after a few attempts. This, though, just wasn't fun even on Casual.
@@abbcc555 It is!! I just did it, it wasn't as smooth as in the video and I had to try at least 5 times. In my case I didn't care about the speedrun I just wanted to do the mission in brutal. You don't get the first overseer until the minute 12 or so and then I think they only come at the same time twice. That obviously fucked me up a bit but I was able to kill them somewhat quickly and then produce more high templars to build the wall. The nydus worms wrecked some havoc but if you manage to isolate the one with the yellow minerals it really makes a difference. I started to struggle a bit more when I already had 2400 kills so at that point it didn't matter. I did kill a lot of my stuff then just to finish it off. If you're on the look-out for the overseers, you should be able to do it.
stupid mechanic in every game... units bigger should be able to push other units... have this issue in aoe2 aswell... why cant my marines just push those in front so they cant engage the enemy?

Man, imagine Raynor explaining this one to Matt.
"I don't know how to explain, Matt, it's like they wanted to go extinct as fast as possible."
It looks like a perfect 100% run. It ended exactly when bonus objective countdown ended. Smoothness of your runs is truly incredible.

Actually tried this because of you and it was soooo efective. So basically thank you for the tip
Wow! You did it so effective! At exact last second (or well, the kill counter) everyone at your army died!

This is awesome! I hate doing this mission even on Normal difficulty.

Dark Templar wall OP, nerf when?
Super slick run as always, nice work
