Chunk got a bad rap this year.. He didn't really attack smalls. In a Grazer scuffle, smalls floated right into him and he reacted not knowing anything but a bear right there. It was just a worst case scenario. Had little smalls been 10 feet either way, he'd have floated on past.
@ykmaggie The worst part was he was healing up and moving around. He was stashed upriver and Grazer was fishing with Biggie below the falls. He wandered out into the river, got caught in the current and couldn't swim yet. You could see the horror on her face as he floated by and nothing she could do. She probably didn't think he would wander out into the water still injured and healing up. 2 terrible incidences.
Chunk is a force to be reckoned with. I was devastated over Smalls, but it would never occur to me to blame Chunk. He reacted.

Kind of sad he didn't make it this year, even though I love Grazer. I hope he gets his chance to be Fat Bear champion soon. He's an awesome bear. ❤
