Thats the TRENDELENBURG position. I am so sorry. I was a nurse. In 2016 I got very sick over the period of 6 months. Long story short, I contracted Valley Fever, which affected my heart causing Chronic Constrictive Idiopathic Pericarditis. That became OA, PSA, Heart Failure, aFIB, kidney failure, 3 auto-immune diseases, an immune disease and several others. I take 14 scheduled medications a day and some of those 3-4 times a day. One weekly injection for my heart. That's not the end of my list. I was walker dependent and required someone to be with me at all times. I couldn't take care of myself. Long story short, I was taken off work and deemed permanently disabled and not able to return to work. I was hospitalized 3-6 times a year. 911 called many times and transported via ambulance. We live in Az so I ended up going to MAYO in Az. I had 8 doctors here. I also had to go to MAYO Rochester Minnesota to the cardiologist specialist for the pericarditis. I am older than you. We have eight grandchildren and now three weeks ago our first great-granddaughter was born 3 weeks ago. RELAX!! REST!!! I learned to SLOW DOWN! LISTEN to my body. I worked as a fulltime nurse manager 45-60 hours a week). I was in college working towards my masters degree. I spent as much time as I could with my grands. We have a large ranch home on an acre of land. My husband works for the 5th largest accounting firm in the US. His job required a lot of travelling. We have our fur baby's, chickens etc etc etc. I was soo depressed and somewhat scared because I fully understand what all these diagnosis mean and the possible ramifications of them all. I leaned the housework doesn't matter. The laundry will get done. The dishes can wait. Im alive! I have my husband, kids and grands. The rest will get worked out! SVT's are very serious!! My heart had to be shocked back into normal rhythm in August of 2023. I have not been in the hospital since, thank God! Please, take care of your self. You may find now that you tire more easily, or that you feel fatigued. Your not crazy!! If you need anything at all just let me know!! Hugs. Dont forget to sparkle!! Kris

I completely understand always thinking worst case scenario. I think we all need to learn how to give ourselves more grace and allow ourselves time to rest! Sending you a ton of prayers Sandy. I had something like that 2 years ago right before I was suppose to have my cancer surgery. My BP was 222over 184. They gave me a nitro patch and within 15 minutes I plummeted to 54 over 44. To find out I have a thoracic aneurysm, but they found that after my cancer surgery. I actually had a Chest CT w/contrast today to see the size of the aneurysm.

I have SVT as well. I was diagnosed at 24 years old. I am 57 now. I am on daily medication that controls it. it will take a while to get used to the. idea of having a heart issue, but you will get accustomed. Allow yourself grace. Things will get better :) Wishing you well.

(She is well and loving life.) I’m so sorry this is happening to you, but YOU GOT THIS! Hang in there; everything is going to be ok. ❤

I SO feel your pain. I have had SVT for over 34 years and after fighting it for MANY years, I finally agreed to a cardiac ablation in 2009, wondering why I waited so long. Since the ablation I havent had an episode. Sending so much love to you and prayers always.

Yep, anytime I had an episode I would flip myself over the bed and push really hard to get it to stop. I am now on Metoprolol and a cardiac diet. They are so painful when they happen and my heart is with you seriously.

I have had SVT for 7 years. Then 1 1/2 ago I found out I had CHF. I only had 10-11 episodes of the high heart rate and the last one was so bad I asked for the ablation. The metroprolol never really helped, the Adenosine worked but is a horrible feeling and sometimes coughing and bearing down worked. I had the ablation done on Oct 3, 2023. The first week after it was done was a little rough but so glad that I had it done. Take care hope all goes well for you.

@@OrganizedChaosCrew Thank you for remembering and for your wishes. Unfortunately at ca. 1 pm I was told the morning's ablation was complicated and they had overrun so mine has been shunted till tomorrow. Quite frustrating considering I had mentally braced myself. Also the doctor said there's no sedative, only local anaesthetic. Most of the UA-cam SVT ablation videos I've watched videos have been from the US...waiting to see what the fully awake Slovak version holds in store!
Well, after a cancellation on Wed (due to a complicated, overrun of a previous ablation, got mine done on Thursday [Apr 25 2024]. Over in 2 hours. Alas, unlike some people (exclusively American it seems) I did not get sedation or analgesics and was fully aware during the 2 hours. Not pleasant. The heart may not have nerves but I could feel the catheters and the stimulating shocks and ablations taking place. Pain? Technically it can't be considered so, but it felt like someone's 4 knuckles pushing hard on my chest and not pleasant. I can tolerate a lot in a dentist's chair, but this spooked me out. I was told by the lead physician that analgesics and sedatives can suppress arythymias, but they commonly used in the US. I have a 15-year-old student in Slovakia who wishes me to report back. My honest view is that if I knew it would be like that, I would have chosen elsewhere - Austria, Germany, UK or USA, despite the expense. However, it was considered successful and despite the bruised groin, I am back at home soaking up endless 'films noirs' and working my way through the 2 series of 'Taken' and 10 series of Nurse Jackie. Forgot to mention, I was kept on my back for 17 hours straight which killed my back - fortunately walking around today and some ibuprofen and codeine solved that. Maybe I'm being a bit of a wuss, but at least it's over now.
So happy to hear your procedure was a success. Hoping you are healed. Sandy still experiences pain in her chest from time to time, but all follow up visits have been positive from the doctors. We are continuing to monitor and live a healthier lifestyle.
