- This episode, "The Test," highlights Holden's first ride on the custom built Kawasaki ZRX1224RR Superbike. The team heads to the track to test what SBK Factory's James Compton developed, and see how both bike and rider perform. The video follows Holden as he gets comfortable with the bike and puts it through its paces, unofficially breaking the track record for fastest lap.
That ZRX looks absolutely AMA-ZING being ridden around on the race track, FANTASTIC.
yep this bike mainly looks like zrx kind of.
beautiful bike! Tons of torque... I had a ZRX 1100 in the street version, the engine is amazing, and so torquey that I could run the 5th gear from 60 km/h up to top speed without shifting the gears! I can imagine that, after the "cure", your ZRX is able to rocket you forward! Congrats for the beautiful upside down front end and the rear Penske shock absorbers, not to mention the beautiful super short exhaust ....
everything is beautiful & functional on this bike... what a dream!
Lucky son of a gun, anyone who gets to ride this one! LUCKY!!
you probably dont give a damn but does any of you know of a tool to log back into an instagram account??
I stupidly forgot the login password. I love any tips you can offer me.
@Reese Casey Instablaster =)
@Baylor Crew Thanks for your reply. I got to the site on google and Im trying it out now.
Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
@Baylor Crew It did the trick and I finally got access to my account again. Im so happy:D
Thanks so much, you saved my ass!
@Reese Casey glad I could help :)
Videos like this make me really miss my black 2000 😢
Great video..... One of the best Bike Programing on the web or TV...
These bikes are as close to stock Kawi's as Nascar is to their respective vehicle makes. I think the bike mods are phenomenal and a true testament to his experience and ingenuity. Especially working that well out of the gate. Great work! Oh yeah...Jake Holden is a great rider...met him at Musslemen in Tucson with Evan Steel...
See you at the Peak!
Great video! Keep these bikes alive. My favorite, just won a trophy for best sportbike at a show.
I liked the video before it started; I knew it was going to be awesome. Love this bike so much.
What a beautiful bike.
Great video...you make me proud of being a ZRX owner...keep going, major kudos!
As an ELR rex owner myself, I cant imagine pushing mine even that hard lol James Compton STILL makes beautiful bikes to this day
I wish Kawasaki would bring the ZRX back to the US market. Nothing else in their current "Transformer" inspired line up interests me.
Ya, all that "modular" styling w no passenger seat is a turn-off. The ZRX was a great bike. Regret selling mine.
You guys built a couple of beasts. Bikes look insane! Keep the shiny side up.
ZRX is one of the best motorcycles)
Well done.
Thanks for the great videos.
As a Zrx owner myself, I would have liked to actually hear it at the track. Music drowned it all out.
That looks awsome!
Would love to buy some awesome parts from you. Or a spec list just got zrx1200r. It's wonderful but want to track it...
Damn that looks like fun!
Fantastic!
I would love to see and hear this bike at race pace :)
Are there any SBK Factory shirts available?
Nice bike for sure. Have a question as to witch forks is the better base to work with, R6, Showa, KYB all from 600cc ss bikes ? Thanks much.. yl
When will they run pikes peak?
Am I missing something? Jake refers to the ZReX as a 1980s Superbike - isn't that a late 90s - early to mid-00s ZRX1200? Hardly a dinosaur from the 80s - particularly with the modifications.
Someone please help me. Where can i get this headlight numberplate? I really love to have one but i cant find them anywhere.
+Johan Gouweleeuw I'm pretty sure that's a one-off custom part. I bet they'd make another one for you for the right price though. :)
I recon you would do well at the TT!
What a nice bike they built
I really enjoyed the video. Loved the bike. I own a stock ZRX.
Please! Lose the music! Motorcyclists want to hear the BIKE!
What settings do you fellas make to your suspension when youre on a bumpy track? This year I upped the compression and it felt better but Im not sure what I should be doing with my rebound & dampening.
let an expert check yr suspension (someone who can go freakin fast himself , not a iknowall shopowner) you will get the best from yr bike . ive been fiddling in the past on my suspension and it drove shit , i didnt drove confident , and i wished i never touched it . but after visiting wp suspension its rock solid .
No steering damper? I think I'll leave it to the pro's
NO dislikes? That's the 1st! lol Great Video!
I have zrx1200r but got not enough money to do this projects..
I really hate that music....I cannot listen the screaming engine..
I know you like carburetors, I like it too.
But dude, put a ECU in this bike and you will turn it in a beast!
Need to be able to cast more than one "Like" for this one!
As 80's as justin bebeber
Not 1 thing on that bike is from the 80's the motor is from the 2k era. That is a hand built 80k bike possibly a 100k bike ,it better be dam fast and handle !
Absolute complete BS to call it a old bike .
They're going for a certain vibe from that era. Steel cradle frame, dual shocks, old-school inline 4-cylinder. Find some videos of Lawson or Spencer dirt trackin' their race bikes on pavement and you'll understand.
P Kuudsk nothing but the carbs, even that's debatable.
lahokc59 I had KZ1100R in Canada same motor as gpz 1100. It's dated compared to ZX11 engine 4 valves, LC, 6 speed tranny.
2.28 the road little hupp hupp
Yeah, would have loved to hear the engine howl.
That track looks clapped! Would be amazing without those "bumps and jumps"
zrx :) i like
H.T.V. Blu have you seen this ?
press play..
Throw that kind of money at any engine and suspension it's gona be good meh nothing special
Sounds mean
If you want it to go fast on a closed road put guy martin on it
