Here is something I'm 100% sure most people don't know about. Did you know that "They" meaning large meat producers are using a product called Meat Glue? They take scraps of meat blend them up or piece them together with other pieces and glue them back together & sell them as certain cuts of meat. It's 100% legal in all 50 states & they don't have to tell you which products have utilized the technique. But the product can't be handled without wearing a full respirator because it's toxic to touch or inhale. Yup, that is what our FDA has allowed Big Beef to sell us. Signs of this to look out for are pieces of fat the simply fall off without you having to tug on it or cut it. Remember when you had to use a knife to cut through the fat on a piece of steak? Well this will just unroll right off the piece of meat. That and or break off in the cooking pan. Then you know you have a meat glued piece of meat. Anyway I thought I'd just put this comment here. Stay Vigalent Everyone. ✌ ❤ 🙏
What you have is 2 different grades of beef. This is why the price differences. The best grade for beef is USDA Prime. Followed by USDA Choice and USDA Select. Theses are the top 3 that you find at most places. Standard and Commercial are the next two grades and they are usually set for store brand meat. The next 3 grades are used for ground beef, or premade frozen meals. This explains the difference in cost.
that's what I was thinking! and the cheaper steak doesn't look like it has an official angus certification label. I'm not american, so not familiar with the grades and certifications. but where I'm at, it's a very specific seal on Angus Certified beef. and the grade of beef is very obvious the higher the grade, the more expensive. but if ya can't tell the difference, don't pay the price difference!
I hate when people buy groceries from their local department store, be it Walmart, Target, or whoever else has a grocery dept. Folks really need to support their local grocery stores, even if they're a chain store, to ensure we don't lose them. Can you imagine a world where Walmart is your only grocery option??
Walmart has been ripping all of us all off for a very long time!! And I was a store manager..but, I never spent my hatd earned money back with them for that very reason!!

Kroger has been involved in court battles to buy out Albertsons for years. Have never been to a Kroger or lived near one. Not sure if a good or bad thing.
I was walmart only for all my life 29 years. But a year ago ive been going to aldi, kroger blah blah. I probably go to walmart 1 out of every 10 days now lol
I've have known ever since Sam Walton passed away when Wally World went corporate that you never buy your fruit or vegetables and there prepackaged meat. Never ever don't do it.
Thanks, I've been telling people to compare the differences between Wal-Mart prices and other supposedly more expensive stores! Wal-Mart isn't always the best buy!
As soon as the word inflation starts getting used more and more it’s an excuse for EVERYONE in EVERY business to raise their prices . Same thing happens when they raise the minimum wage , prices of everything go up . Greed at its finest .

@@Emily-by4kx our local stores have the best meat prices but make us pay in the prices of everything else so I buy meat local and canned food at walmart
I discovered it about 3 years ago. My local grocery has better meat and better price on a lot of the same stuff. It's unfortunate that the government store AKA Walmart is ripping everyone off but they are in lockstep with the great reset people so be very careful what you buy from them.
I had rotisserie chicken that i paid $3 for a whole cooked chicken and potatoe salad. I bought 3 of those dang chickens. Would of bought more but only had $10 on me.
These videos are so helpful! We have to really watch prices everywhere we shop. It was a suggestion to keep track of your staple items & compare prices. You can use those coupons, but make sure the item price is a good sale. For example, buy one get one free; sometimes, you are actually paying full price for both. Safeway tends to do this. Certain times of the year are better deals on items; baking items tend to go on sale Oct, Nov and Dec. Stock up as you can. Store in containers, jars, screw-on dry creamer containers, Classico makes a wonderful jar for storage items. Flour, sugar and butter etc. Also, learn to cook from scratch as much as you can. Pizza dough is flour, salt, water, dry yeast, and a sugar of some kind. The dough can be stored in the freezer. Beans can be put in a slow cooker for the day & create tacos, tostadas, bean/cheese burritos, taco salad bowls, etc.
We don't shop at big box stores anymore. Kroger, etc. I go to local butcher, farmer's markets or grow my own. We even have a grain mill 20 minutes away where we buy grains, and a Mennonite store for other things
Glad you exposed Walmart, it is about time. Glad you had a good time at the lake. It reminded me of my mom. Fishing from the bank when I was small I am now 76. Thanks for the memories. God bless you and your family
Also…. Walmart, directly or indirectly, meat glue has been used. it is possible, and it would not be surprising, if Walmart did not even know about the practice of meat glue. Make glue used to put together pieces of meat, to resemble a complete steak. Most of them used with fast food, we’re total uniformity is required. I have been highly suspicious of formed meats, including chicken, that you often get in restaurants. Those patties of chicken. You can be used as a binder instead of egg.
Y'all had a good dinner. Aiden is a good cook. It's not only Wal-Mart that has higher prices. Looks like your pigs and chickens are doing good. That was nice of you to help your friend out with the gas and propane. Nice way to relax and unwind by going for a swim. GOD bless y'all.
I am Canadian and will only buy chicken at walmart, because my dog eats a lot of chicken. My husband finally realized why I don't buy meat at walmart anymore when he grabbed some hamburger there. It sat in my overly cold storage fridge for 2 days because I planned to use it. Once I opened it up, it was brown, which is fine, whatever, but smelled like complete arse the moment I opened it. My husband was all "It's fine!" until he came over and smelled it. We buy our meat at Costco mainly now. We would go directly to a butcher but it's a bit steep there and quite the drive!
My friend growing up had a meat grinder. I thought it was beef until they asked how I liked my deer burger. And you can print any label you like. It's cheaper than having them made and sent to your location... NOT SAYING WALMART is lying and printing off labels, I'm just saying it could be done. And when they rather let customers check themselves out to save money no telling what they are willing to do to save a buck or two
I was at Giant today and they had the same weight pieces of meat as a local store, was just looking for chuck roast Giant was double the price for the exact same cut, done with corporate chains 100%, not just Walmart doing it stop getting gouged by billion dollar corporations. I walked out and drove the extra 2 miles to the local store knowing the price had to be ridiculous at places like Giant/corporate. I walked out with a few hundred bucks in beef, roasts, steaks, pork, chops, smoked sausage etc for the freezer and dinners from my local. We started raising chickens, guineas, and ducks about 5 years ago, started Turkeys last year. Thinking of getting goats for milk / cheese. Amazing insight and dinner looked delicious.
Aiden is becoming an excellent cook like his Dad and Uncle Sean. Alot of people are like us and think you can save money at Walmart because you think you save money in some areas it is that way throughout the whole store but that is not true. Thank you for the reminder. LOVE FROM IOWA! 😊❤❤❤
I stopped buying food from Wal-Mart years ago for this reason. They are more expensive in nearly case. As you stated almost in many ways other stores are cheaper and have better category.
Things about Walmart beef cuts: Almost always USDA Select grade (means less marbling and likely slightly tougher than the top 2 grades but, it's fine). Walmart is NOT cheap on beef, however, they usually won't be a ripoff, you just won't get a deal. Regular stores have meat sales to draw in customers but other stores CAN and WILL rip you off too, and sometimes terribly, but you can finds good deals often. Walmart will change their prices at any time, often weekly. Walmart 8020 ground chuck is a good deal especially when buying bulk and the quality can be above other stores like Kroger. A good tip for choosing deals on meat at Walmart is to look at the orange righthand side of the price tag, it breaks the price down for you into per pound or per ounces you can quickly go to the cheapest, all their price tags have it when applicable. Remember, steaks are basically cut up roasts, so buy a roast and just cut it yourself if a roast is cheaper. Until there is a change in leadership, inflation will remain high, vote wisely.
Be thankful you have a Wallmart, there closing several of these stores across America.Yes it’s been reported for other reasons, such as theft and vandalism. I like your content, have for the past few years. Nice to see you and your son back. I’m Canadian and our prices are much higher.
Walmart beef is not special but that is not the same cut of meat. Choice always more expensive than lower quality or non graded. Doesn’t always mean better, but will cost more.
I have bought some decent flat iron steaks here in Florida. They make excellent steak tacos- add a little chopped onion and fresh cilantro and a squeeze of lime. I had a late lunch and am not hungry enough to eat supper. Going to fix a zucchini lasagna tomorrow - no pasta, you slice the zucchini really thin and then add the normal ingredients. Layering the zucchini in place of the pasta.
I would never purchase meat, produce or electronics from Walmart. Maybe it’s meat glue. That meat comes prepackaged n prices already printed. They don’t have an actual meat dept with a butcher.
I never buy meats at Walmart, my youngest son found some critters in some meat he bought there. TWICE! Walmart offered to swap the packages, but he opted for his money back because he didn't trust any of their meat. I buy my meats at only local stores, but it is still a chain. Unfortunately, all the chain stores put all the local grocery stores out of business. Even the slaughter house/meat market is gone, so I really don't trust meats anywhere anymore. I can't afford to buy any beef, so I get whatever my SS leftovers will allow me to have. It may not be what I would like to eat, but at least it fills the hole in my stomach. LOL! Chicken mixed with veggies tonight, just not sure what to make with the chicken thighs that diabetes diet will allow me to eat. LOL! Seems there always has to be a catch in life, but there is always a blessing with it too! I am happy to see you back! You look and sound wonderful! BUT PUT BRICKS ON YOU SON'S HEAD SO HE WILL QUIT GROWING!!! HE'S MAKING ME FEEL EXTREMELY OLD! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
We are able to get lean pork loin cuts from a smaller 8 state chain, and also a very small 5-10 store regional chain. It is still a Hormel product at least some of the time at the 8 state chain but it comes on a plastic wrapped Styrofoam tray rather than a plastic bag of sugar and salt brine. The stuff on the tray is also leaner.
Looks really good! Glad you mentioned the Walmart gouging. Flat iron looks like the way to go! Try adding a pat of butter to the top. Excellent! That's a sweet thing to do for her. I'm so sorry for her loss. Nothing like a real friend to be able to lean on. Where are you guys at? We live in Iowa and just happened onto your Channel! God Bless!
Walmart also has gotten rid of the lower priced items that used to out sale the name brands AND the great value brand. I've been fed up with Walmart for AT LEAST 20 years now. Unfortunately, in my smaller town, the only other store as an alternative is Target and I haver NEVER liked Target. Any other choices I have for lower priced non-grocery products is 40 miles away.
You probably already know this but the exchange propane tanks only contain 15 pounds of propane instead of 20. That is why they seem cheaper to exchange but in fact you are getting less propane when you use the exchange instead of getting your tank refilled. Shrinkflation and marketing at it's best. LOL
So sorry for the loss of your friend. Prayers for all. Really 2.79 a gallon here in Duncan 2.85 a gallon . I'm a little jelly. And the steak looked delicious. Good job Aiden.
I’ve only been to 1 Walmart grocery store here on Long Island. I left with an empty cart because I found that their prices were way too expensive. I check Shoprite and Stop n Shop flyers for which store has the most discounts for what I need. Even the local smaller store has reasonable sale prices and decent quality meat. Never went back to Walmart for groceries. Glad you did the comparison. 😊
Don’t shop at Walmart but I am wondering if you are comparing apples to apples? The Walmart says Angus USDA choice. All the other package says is Angus with the brand name of High River. There might be a difference in the quality of one over the other.
We check prices everywhere. We buy filet mignon at a little grocery store that has a butcher. We get it between 9.99 to 13.99 a pound. They do have sales, and we stock up when it is at the lower price. I have never seen these low prices at big grocery stores.
Thanks for the very important truth you have shared. I’m new to your channel. I will be following you for sure. All your critters are so adorable. ♥️👍🇺🇸
Hi Vincent and Aden. Here in fl we have a notice today, of listeria in deli meat, at Walmart, publix grocery, and Aldi. Your dinner looked amazing and getting cooled off. Your dogs are well trained in riding! Take care.
I buy Top Round steaks here. Flat iron steaks are from $11.84/lb at Walmart to $24.95/lb at Wegman's! Too much for me to justify spending. All areas are different.
When I see prices too high at a store, I go to a different store to shop. Fortunately I live in an area that has several stores plus Sam's Club and Costco to chose from.
Walmart has been doing this for years. Some things are cheaper others are more. So at the end you don't save anything. They also reduce quality on roll back food items. So many times you pay more than the normal price. Unfortunately, things are now so expensive people are paying attention.
May I add that they are ripping us off in the weight of meat as well. Anyone else notice how box grocery stores no longer seem to have a weight scale in them, what's up with that.
I had chili dogs for dinner ! Good to pay attention to the price per lb.! I did notice a few days ago they have rolled back a lot of their prices on various products.
I don’t buy meat at the store i have my own cattle ranch i work full time on and i keep 2 steers and 2 pigs to butcher every year and i hunt deer and moose and elk and ducks and geese i am good on meat
I live in Edmond, Oklahoma and in my area I am blessed with a small family of stores 10 of them now called Crest. It is a 24/7 store and for about the last two months they have had four brands of shank portion hams for 99¢ per pound. Baby back ribs have for over a year have been $1.98 per pound and regular ribs $1.28 per pound.
I bought short ribs twice at Walmart and they were expensive and absolutely tasteless. I asked the butcher if it was clone meat and he said they get their meat from Canada already wrapped . I no longer buy meat at Walmart.
If you know anyone in your area that goes dumpster diving , then there are lots of these grocery stores throwing away food that has expired and that would be good to feed those pigs. Aldi's does it just to name an example
Sorry to hear about Patty's husband. Next time, get those propane tanks refilled instead of exchanging them. It's way cheaper. Tractor supply is the best, if u have one close by. Steaks looked delicious. Made me hungry for one lol. ❤
I love sitting on my back deck. Watching a variety of birds, hummingbirds, quail, doves, sparrows, finches, hawks, wild turkey, and woodpecker. Whatever happens by. My gas prices are about $1.25 - $1.50 more per gallon here in oregon. I refill propane at the local coop for about $ 12.00 where trade outs are $25 -30 each.
My Walmart, Sams or Publix does not have flat iron. Walmart says it does, but I've never seen it or what I have SEEN IS NOT FLAT IRON. Only place I can get it is Kroger, 12.99 # sucks! I can eat 3 days off 1 pc and that includes fajitas and salads. I thin slice all these cuts I mention. I want your grocery store..............I shop everybody WEEKLY.............I'm about taxed, insured and foodied outta my house. Flat iron, to me, is next to filet........It's supposed to be a cheap cut of meat..........another fav is tri-tip..............no one has except for Sams and you have to buy a case @379.00. It's only 7 something a pound and one of the most flavorable cuts you can buy ( yes, 3 cuts in 1) but I can't buy @65 # of meat at one time. I laugh at these "farm raised" growers..............."If you can afford supermarket prices you can afford farm grown"................heck, they are all farm grown, and independents are about 3 times higher.........PLUS, I don't like grass finished beef, it's DRY (to me)...........If I have to load it up with butters and seasonings what's the point? BTW I ONLY eat BUTTER, NO MARGARINE. Seen the price of butter lately? I'm going to put in a request to my Sam's for TriTip and flat iron, in the meat case. I love inside skirt (fajitas), I don't eat a lot of pork anymore except for bacon, ham, side pork for beans/greens. I rely heavily on inside skirt, fat thick cuts. I'm chickened out too. And I can't get a handle on cooking lamb chops
WalMart is actually better proportionally than other stores as 'zinging' you with select items. But when the 'zing; you they really drive the knife in deep. The best way I have found to avoid this is to shop on line first. ALL of the items on your shopping list. Some people use the (faulty) logic 'Well, I'm already here'.
Hey guys, I remeber you rocked ooking when you were a little squirt🤭! I'm glad you're still interested. The upcharging is out of hand! Flat Irons are🔥! JO JO IN VT 💞
I never buy meat at Walmart, I go to Aldi !!! Walmart is also ripping people off by false advertising, several times I check out and there has been several items that showed up on my receipt that higher than what the shelf price said, I even use my phone now to scan items before I buy them to make sure or the price and they still ring up higher !!! Please check your receipts !!!!
Wal-Mart has dynamic pricing. Many of the basic everyday staples are low and reasonable while other less purchased items are marked up. It's not just Wal-Mart, by the way.
People who think they can't cook can become gourmet cooks overnight by doing one thing. Buy a small collection of MIXED herbs and spices, either in the store or online. With as few as five or six little bottles of MIXED herbs and spices, you can eliminate the need to figure out how to best season your foods, as it's already been done for you. Some of them you may not care for, but after trying several of these mixtures you will find your favorites, and you will never again have to apologize for not being able to cook. This is what I did, and no matter what I cook, I also often add a generous sprinkle of onion powder. Can you say "delicious"?
Prices vary between all stores. The problem with Walmart is that they usually overcharge you because the label weight is more than the actual meat weighs. We stopped buying meat at Walmart. Shop the sales at high end grocery stores like Publix and the fresh market.
Propane tank exchanges for 5 gal is at least $19.99 here and there is no guarantee you will get the full 5 gallons. The last we filled our own tanks it was $2.49/ gallon. So at minimum, $12.50 vs $20.
That’s why we need more stores. Walmart ran the other stores out of town at first with cheaper prices, now with no others in town, they over charges us.
It’s all their marketing and social engineering. We have a little Mexican grocery store near us and most of the things are way cheaper than Walmart. The other shop that went haywire on prices was our 99 only stores. They used to be good now it’s downright robbery
Looked up flat iron steak, sure enough 11 something per pound. Unbelievable! I never heard of flat iron. That lake looks beautiful. Hugs and love, Janet 🐖🐔🦆🐕
The reason why WM is much higher is 90% of people on food stamps shop there. Most food stamp users don't care what food cost because there not paying for it out of there pocket. WM takes advantage of this because they know there getting the food stamp business.
10:14 I particularly like doing the exchange because you don't know if the tanks are actually full or not unless you weigh them. An empty tank is about 20 lbs.... I forget, but a full tank is suppose to be 37 lbs. If I can find a place, I take my tanks to a propane by the pound place, or if it's a flat fee, I don't fill till my tanks are completely empty and I've left the valve open for a couple minutes.
I shop Walmart... I dont buy much meat there though. about the only eception would be the vacume sealed pork ribs, or boneless roast which I usually cut into boneless chops. another thing, the white packages are not USDA CHOICE,... its select, a grade below choice. black trays are USDA CHOICE...

Flat iron is the second most tender mean next to a filet mignon, but the flat iron has more flavor than a filet mignon at a fraction of the price.
I did not know that! Thank you for the info. I WILL try it! 😃

Almost always USDA Select grade (means less marbling and likely slightly tougher than the top 2 grades but, it's fine).
I love this video! We’re weaning ourselves off of Walmart. Almost there! ❤
Good for you! Once you have made the change, you will never go back!!
You have to pay more to make up the difference of all the people stealing from them.
I just got back from walmart and they wanted 8.99 for a gallon of orange juice ! Crazy.
I mainly stick with chicken and beef. Steak is rarely in my price range these day.
But Choice is more expensive than Select, don't get me started with Prime grade.
God Bless!
Also check to see if it is weighed correctly. People have been checking the scale on some meats and find they get shorted.
I stopped shopping at Walmart back in 2016.
So did i... mostly due to the reciept checkers
You probably already know this but the exchange propane tanks only contain 15 pounds of propane instead of 20. That is why they seem cheaper to exchange but in fact you are getting less propane when you use the exchange instead of getting your tank refilled. Shrinkflation and marketing at it's best. LOL
I get my propane refilled at Costco.
Tractor Supply will fill a tank for $17, Dollar General swap out is $24
Only time I swap out tanks is if mine are getting old and they don't check the dates. Otherwise, I get them filled at tractor supply cheaper.
Man, you need to shop for propane like you did for steaks. I get propane for $17.99/bottle. And I’m in Indiana! Good video. God bless you guys!
Don’t shop at Walmart but I am wondering if you are comparing apples to apples? The Walmart says Angus USDA choice. All the other package says is Angus with the brand name of High River. There might be a difference in the quality of one over the other.
Bubbles look like he hasn't missed a meal.
We check prices everywhere. We buy filet mignon at a little grocery store that has a butcher. We get it between 9.99 to 13.99 a pound. They do have sales, and we stock up when it is at the lower price. I have never seen these low prices at big grocery stores.
$56.24…well I was way off! 😂 enjoyed this video! Just subscribed ❤
Thanks for the very important truth you have shared. I’m new to your channel. I will be following you for sure. All your critters are so adorable. ♥️👍🇺🇸
❤Very kind of you to help Patty your a good man❤❤
🎉good video 😊 yeah that price is high on those steaks, I guess it's going to be 15 bucks on filling up those four gas containers
That dinner looked yummy 😋
Walmarts prices have gone through the roof. I needed a new garbage pail ….. $90.00 😮 WTF 😳 I LITERALLY GASPED when I looked at the price.
Walmart has been doing this for years. Some things are cheaper others are more. So at the end you don't save anything.
They also reduce quality on roll back food items. So many times you pay more than the normal price.
Unfortunately, things are now so expensive people are paying attention.
Get that Chef some long tongs . Looks great.
It is cheaper to refill the tanks than to swap them out.
May I add that they are ripping us off in the weight of meat as well. Anyone else notice how box grocery stores no longer seem to have a weight scale in them, what's up with that.
I just looked up price for Flat Iron Steak here at our local store in Southeast Pennsylvania. $16.38 for 1.1 lb. So $14.89 per lb.
This is RIDICULOUS!!!!! I will NOT go back there again… screw then and thank you for your post ❤
Smart man, you sound like a Conservative 🇺🇸
I live in Edmond, Oklahoma and in my area I am blessed with a small family of stores 10 of them now called Crest. It is a 24/7 store and for about the last two months they have had four brands of shank portion hams for 99¢ per pound. Baby back ribs have for over a year have been $1.98 per pound and regular ribs $1.28 per pound.
I bought short ribs twice at Walmart and they were expensive and absolutely tasteless. I asked the butcher if it was clone meat and he said they get their meat from Canada already wrapped . I no longer buy meat at Walmart.
Cloned and tough /chewy flavorless
If you know anyone in your area that goes dumpster diving , then there are lots of these grocery stores throwing away food that has expired and that would be good to feed those pigs. Aldi's does it just to name an example
I haven't shopped at a Walmart in over a year, I try not to shop there, if I can avoid it.
I wish I could get rid of my Amazon habit.
Woah what a price difference, definitely worth comparing prices! Aiden got his sizzle skills from you 😊😋
Sorry to hear about Patty's husband. Next time, get those propane tanks refilled instead of exchanging them. It's way cheaper. Tractor supply is the best, if u have one close by. Steaks looked delicious. Made me hungry for one lol. ❤
I get my propane refilled at Costco.
Steaks looked great . Lucky dogs getting to go swimming 😊
Hey guys, I remeber you rocked ooking when you were a little squirt🤭!
I'm glad you're still interested.
The upcharging is out of hand!
Flat Irons are🔥!
JO JO IN VT 💞
Hi guys! I love to watch Aiden cook. Your supper looked so good.
Great stuff most enjoyable thanks. Chris from England
Thank you for blessing Patty! $65.00!
So at minimum,
$12.50 vs $20.
I have been shopping at my local town grocery stores sice the pandemic, and haven't missed it.
USDA Angus always cost more higher grade beef.
Walmart meat departments in my area look so disgusting. I wouldn’t feed my animals with their garbage.
I dont buy much meat there though.
about the only eception would be the vacume sealed
pork ribs, or boneless roast which I usually cut into boneless chops.
another thing, the white packages are not USDA CHOICE,...
its select, a grade below choice.
black trays are USDA CHOICE...
