What everyone needs to remember is that Walmart or any other grocery store is not making their own tomato sauce or ice cream or pasta, etc. They are putting their store brand on the same sauce or milk or ice cream from a company already making the food.
Exactly. I almost always buy the store brand with very few exceptions. No shame in my game. I had some clown at work make fun of me for bringing Sam's Club soda to work. Until I pointed out that I had my own home and my car was paid for.
The chili and cornbread looks delicious. Never tried the pumpkin cinnamon rolls but love regular cinnamon rolls. Aiden is a good cook. GOD bless y'all.
The pie plate you used is sooo pretty!! Those are the types of pretty yet practical things I like to give and receive as gifts. What a delicious looking meal! Thank You for sharing!
Hello Vincent and Aiden, the chilli and corn bread look delicious, making me hungry and I have had supper already. Aiden you look like a pretty good cook. 👍👍❤️❤️🇨🇦
Good evening from northern Canada.....The food prices here are kind of shocking...... the further north the bigger the price..... I am glad you came up on my feed... I am going to enjoy watching and of course learning from you.... thank you
I love chili & cornbread. I keep cornmeal on hand to make homemade cornbread. I also have bought ground turkey or chicken before in place of beef. Came upon your channel by accident, but I like it. I am going to watch your previous videos, too.
Chili and cornbread go together. Chili is great on baked potato's also. Jiffy is my favorite. I shop in bulk so I can shop less and make more meals cheaper.
There are ways to make it cheaper. Don’t buy chili spice packet. Buy individual spices like garlic, chill powder and cumin. You will be able to make multiple pots of chili. Ground turkey is cheaper. I get it for less than $3/pound. Buying dried beans will go much farther too. Yes you have to cook them longer, but crockpot is great for that. Also buying corn meal and flour to make multiple batches of cornbread too. Buying ingredients also allows you to have food in cupboard if you cannot run to the store. You spend less in gasoline if you go to grocery once a week or less too.
Yep; we work from scratch. Meat depends on sales availability. Fresh spices available locally. (no big jars) we shoot for once a week or less. Garden, a few chickens. we forage berries, and live near several "pick your own" orchards. Canning helps. wE do most of our on pickles, jam, condiments. ketchup and mayo are easy recipies.
Absolutely kids need to learn how to cook and bake. Your chili looks good, but I personally hate kidney beans, but add refried beans. Love all the onions too, and the various tomato sauce with peppers/spices. I also add tomato soup, along with tomato paste, so mine would cost more, even have added ketchup. Cheese and a bit of sour creme is a wonderful addition when in the bowl. I also "can" my chili in pint jars when I am done, or cook it in the crock pot for an additional day to really let the flavors blend. It is just me, so doing it in the crock pot, I have quite a bit of leftovers, and then can it. Saved for those brutal Minnesota snow blizzard days.
So glad I found you!😊 As far as the beans go, I usually buy a bag of pinto beans and cook them up and add a can or two of kidney beans. It seems to be a little cheaper for me.
Hi! My name is Debra! This is your second video I have watched! I subscribed after I saw your first video! I love your channel ♥️! I am from Tulsa, Oklahoma, and my mom used Jiffy quite a bit. Once in awhile she would make cornbread from scratch. She always put a little sugar in both! 😊 I make it both ways also. I usually always buy Great Value products. Walmart's brand is usually always better than the other brands, i.e., Hunt's. Love your channel! Keep it up! God bless you! 😊♥️
Your meal looks good.. I probably would of only added one package of hamburger, 2 cans of dark kidney beans, 2 cans of diced tomatoes, two cans of tomato sauce , 1 large onion, 1 large pepper, salt/pepper and seasoning...Beans always give me energy. Interesting video. Enjoy watching you both cook. Teaching your son to cook and not live on fast food joints. Will save him money in the future. And be healthier...Thank you for sharing. Blessings to you both.
Love chili and cornbread. Carroll Shelby chili mix, it's better than 2-Alarm. I'm in Texas, so no beans in the chili. Yes to sugar in the cornbread, I use more than the pinch you added.
Another great video. Love your energy and attitude. Ground turkey instead of ground beef would bring the cost down and not diminish the flavor of the chili.
✅One of your best videos...IMHO.. I’ve watched you a long time and your UA-cam focus NOW seems to be getting traction. This was concise and checked all the boxes...reminding people to like, subscribe, follow along., caring greetings. I personally wouldn’t click on for WalMart shopping but you did good...Aiden learning to cook is a bonus. Best wishes. I have a vacation home in Eureka Springs, Ar and lived in Rogers/Bentonville area from 1975-1986. Moved there from Chicago but now am in central Illinois...country too💥
Vincent & Aiden, it all looks yummy! I like my homemade cornbread, but Jiffy is very popular here in the South. I always use buttermilk, but when I switched from white to yellow cornmeal and started adding melted butter, BAM!! Best cornbread I've ever made. I do add a little white flour and an egg. keep up the good work and keep bringing us videos! Love y'all!
So glad your back 😊 i think you do good with this type of video! i really enjoy your personality and admire you and your doin a great job teaching adden to cook and country living 😊
Make some crema of wheat bread like corn bread 2 cups of flour and a 3/4 cup of crema of weat 2 table spoon of manase 3-4 eggs 1/2 of baking powder 1/2 ts salt cook just like rhe cornbread
Looks great!! I like to add a can of green chiles and some shredded cheddar to my cornbread. Jiffy is great for a small family. I have been using sausage in my chili and love it. Sometimes I use both a roll of sausage and a lb of ground beef.
Yummy!! My hubby loves a dash of sugar in his cornbread!😊 he likes ut thinner as well so it'll last longer 😉have to try those pumpkin rolls! Tganx 4 sharing! Take care! ❤️ 😘🙃😊🙏
You are shopping like I do. Everything you guys make always looks so good. Yes I have always used a toothpick to check cornbread, cakes ect... great video guys. LOVE FROM IOWA! 😊❤❤❤
New subscriber here. Glad your video came up on my UA-cam-I enjoyed it. Aiden did a great job making that chili. My youngest son is also 14 turning 15 next week. Tell Aiden Happy early Birthday!
Deer chili is awesome. Love homemade cornbread doesn't need sugar but I prefer 2 Tablespoons of sugar in mine but Jiffy is too sweet without adding sugar. Best to bake in cast iron skillet in the oven.
I like chili and corn bread! It looks great and yes it’s very important to teach our kids some independence they might think we’re crazy at times but I’m counting on the fact that they will be adults one day and I’m hoping the things I’ve taught them or the important things I’ve told them will ring true in their heads one day!! I raised one daughter and helped raise my granddaughters!! My oldest granddaughter will be 19 this winter and she just started her first job a couple months ago I’m always telling her things and showing her recipes etc… I’m hoping more parents and grandparents are still teaching the younger generation ❤ I’m making lettuce wraps tonight for myself! Pf Chang copycat, I didn’t buy everything it called for but most of it!!
Saw those pumpkin cinnamon rolls today. Saw the price and put them back on the shelf. But I bet they are delicious just not for that price. Great video. Love these. Thanks for sharing. Take care, see ya :)
Prices are way different all over USA too. Here in East Texas everything went up 100-200% overnight last year & has kept going up. I see vids of folks in other states with prices 1/3 of my prices here. I never see anyone with higher prices than our Walmart. It’s the worst! And you can’t count on finding anything because they can’t stock properly. Stuff no one buys is everywhere while stuff we all want is always out. I went to cooking everything from scratch. No mixes, no frozen, nothing that has been processed. It’s cheaper. I bake my own bread. I buy 50 lb bags of flour from Amazon. I get wonderful 3lb healthy wheat bread for half the price of 1 lb loaf at the store. The bread maker paid for itself in 4 months. I bought a second bread maker on sale and stored it. I buy bulk rice beans peas quinoa oats & wheat berries too. And if milk keeps going up, I’ll go back to soy milk because I make that myself too from bulk soybeans. That soy milk maker paid itself off in 2 months. The instant pot has paid off too. I also buy 20 pound bag of green coffee beans and put it in the freezer. I got a $40 simple roaster & $20 herb grinder so my coffee is super cheap for gourmet flavor. And I now raise chickens for eggs & meat. So much cheaper to feed them than buy chicken & eggs at the store. I’m retired so I can manage all this. But families are going to have to get better at math because most families can save money by one adult staying home. Americans just don’t do math well. I showed a gal at Walmart how much money her job cost her & she was shocked. She wasn’t making money by working she was spending money to work! But as for Canada I have seen many vids about crazy grocery gouging up there. I can feel your pain! You guys should go on mass strike… stop paying taxes if you can do that there. Tell the govt you spent it on food. 😂 What can they do if 1/2 the country doesn’t pay tax? The wealthy all over the world are begging for revolution French style. It will happen sooner than they think if they don’t get over themselves. 😂 good luck! ☮️
I’ve been making chilli a lot lately. Since there’s only two of us I only use a half pound of ground beef and I use chilli sauce instead of the seasoning as we are seniors and can’t eat the hot stuff any more. I also use chilli beans rather than the kidney beans. When I used to make it I’d also use chilli powder. You can really save on the fixings at Walmart but I do buy my meat at a different grocery store. Jiff mixes are great!
I use Williams and love it. I only use 1 pound of beef and ad a can of chilli beans which is still protein and a great filler and will save you another $4.50. You can't go wrong with chilli and corn bread. Love how you are teaching your son to cook. It's a great life skill.
Hey Y'all, I don't pay full price for anything ever! I watch for sales even on one item stock it up and enjoy the savings as long as it lasts. Do you have a cast iron skillet? I have a skillet No 9 and all it does is cornbread. I got other ones and they all have just one job. I get all mine at garage sales and estate sales. I clean and reseason them. I always got some for sale on craigslist and marketplace. I only buy the best ones and when they are all rusty some folks will just give them away. Making cornbread put the skillet in the oven while it warms up when it beeps take it out pour in the batter then bake. You will never do it any other way!!! Damn y'alls chili looks sooo good.
I met your brother at the expo Sunday. I came back to Miami, OK. Sunday night and my sister had made chili and cinnamon rolls. Those nice looking kayaks in the background. Have you been out kayaking this summer?
Did you get a chance to take Aiden out deer hunting? I’m not sure if that’s something you like doing. Been watching Dutch out deer hunting. Hope got a nice deer. Good meat for the freezer. Watched a bunch of your videos the other night. I had to work Saturday night with the time change. It was a good but slow night at the hospital. Watched your videos to pass the time. Aiden sure has grown. Thanks for sharing. Take care, see ya :) Thanks for sharing.
Have you considered learning to can ? You could do your own beans. You could also can leftovers. Google a recipe to make your own chili seasoning. We serve chili with rice. Your dinner looked delicious.
My Walmart chili is a LOT less...... 1 lb. ground turkey, 2 cans diced tomatoes, 1 onion, 1 lb. dried pintos, soaked and cooked. My own spices. $9.00 counting the corn bread with eggs/milk for that. At least 4 servings....
Good job using Walmart brand products. They're substantially cheaper and usually just as good. You could've made it cheaper by using ground chicken or turkey. I find that in foods that are well spiced, you can't tell the difference. Walmart has a canned 'chili bean' that's a little cheaper too, and the chili beans come in their own sauce.
What everyone needs to remember is that Walmart or any other grocery store is not making their own tomato sauce or ice cream or pasta, etc. They are putting their store brand on the same sauce or milk or ice cream from a company already making the food.

Aiden is such a nice young man, handsome too! Great that he cooks!
Our Walmart had ground turkey for $1.98 a pound. My family can’t tell the difference when I substitute it for beef 😅
Hello Vincent and Aiden, the chilli and corn bread look delicious, making me hungry and I have had supper already. Aiden you look like a pretty good cook. 👍👍❤️❤️🇨🇦
I can eat sweet cornbread but prefer unsweetened. I love y'all! Love all your videos! God bless you!
Happy to see a young man getting involved with family chores, plus he'll learn how to cook in the future.
Good evening from northern Canada.....The food prices here are kind of shocking...... the further north the bigger the price..... I am glad you came up on my feed... I am going to enjoy watching and of course learning from you.... thank you

Shawnee Mills is the best corn bread mix. And it's an Oklahoma company. Looks good.

New sub here. Jiffy can be jiffed up, with Mexican corn!
So glad I found you!😊

I love chili! That looked good! For dinner, I made macaroni salad, mashed up some refried beans, and made some taco meat. Tostadas, tacos, or burritos.
😂...The Meal Looks Yummy, Vincent & Aiden... Make Some Meatloaf, Mash Taters & Greenbeans... My Favorite Meal... 🤤
Oh my looks good and now I have an excuse to make cinnamon rolls hahaha it was nice to see you and Aiden cooking together again.
I like jiffy cornbread with a little sugar. It’s yummy. 💕🙏

Never heard of doing this, but I grew up on Cream of wheat so I think I’ll have to try that. How much baking powder do you use?
Looks great!! I like to add a can of green chiles and some shredded cheddar to my cornbread. Jiffy is great for a small family. I have been using sausage in my chili and love it. Sometimes I use both a roll of sausage and a lb of ground beef.
Left over chili makes great macho nachos.

Like your video ! If properly seasoned, ground turkey tastes great and so much less expensive. Thanks for the video. 😊

Solid meal!!! I do the cornbread with the butter like that too.... i think it def makes it less dry than cornbread can be at times.....🤔👍
Looks good but we like more tomato sauce in our chili. Good job Aiden. Thank you both for the video.
I like chili and corn bread! You and Dutch both like cooking.
If I did a video of Walmart here in Canada you all would not believe it . Our prices are more then double what I see on Vincent's channel .

A dollar saved is a dollar earned ! Good job man .
Need to add more beans, more tomatoes, and more tomato sauce. Add diced green pepper and some garlic. Yum-O!
I love this series you are doing. How about, can you make a hamburger and fries at home cheaper than you can at McDonald’s?

Tractor Supply Co. hat is 🔥
That looks so good
All of that looks really good wish I was sitting there LOL
Happy early birthday yes you're right I learned both of my boys how to cook
Looks delicious guys!
Depression era food still hits.😊
They ate from scratch in the depression. All those prepared mixes & rolls is a waste of money. Has tons of chemicals too.
Love cornbread and chili!!
Did you get a chance to take Aiden out deer hunting? I’m not sure if that’s something you like doing. Been watching Dutch out deer hunting. Hope got a nice deer. Good meat for the freezer.

I would add more tomato sauce before I used water. Other than that, it looked delicious.
Love chili and cornbread.
Glad to see you
I am an old guy who remembers chili and cinnamon rolls at school in the 60's
Beef stew sounds good 😊
Looks delicious.
Looked very good. Now I’m hungry.
I like cornbread lololol
We had chili and cornbread tonight
I grate up a jalapeño and put it in the cornbread.
I prefer the package, because I need to see what I'm getting.
You keep talking about the "whole family." But that doesn't mean much unless you tell us how big that family is? 4 or 12?
Make fried chicken, mashed potatoes, green peas, and biscuits.
LOOKS DELICIOUS.
I see a future cook in your family.
That look good❤
👍
Another can of beans would stretch it another 2 sevings.
Sure appreciate your meals
I like the sugar and Cornbread it's about the only kind I'll eat
