I train at 6:00 am, this warm up does a lot for me personally. I warm up, get my mind sharp and I’m wide awake ready to learn 🤙🏽 I let my car warm up first before driving the same way I feel it’s important to warm up your body and mind before techniques and end with some rolling 🫡
what happened to the hip rotations on all fours? we used to do them every time at GB Ventura when it was GB, now I can't even find a video with a real BJJ class doing them... some people call them the "quadruped knee circles"... we did circles backward and forwards and then knee bent lifts and leg straight back lifts... looking for a video to show someone.
I'm participating because when I've been asked to do the warm up, I can't remember the sequence and I live in Benidorm, so it has to be done in Spanish as well. This is so useful for me!
I think its cool that the instructor does the warmups with the students, but it seems more like a workout than a warm up. It's a bit ridiculous in my opinion, although I do find this funny.
@@MNaeem5 exactly, perhaps allow a few minutes for the class to self stretch. I'm not in my 20's anymore and lord knows I need to stretch my hamstrings and calves well before doing anything strenuous or I'll pay for it for the rest of the week.
This is why I don't go to places like this, because he tells the new people, find a place, copy, do what you can do. They don't pay any attention to the new people, they pay attention to and give attention to the so called higher ranks. I would have left this place the minute that guy said that nonsense to the new people. This is why so many people quit bjj!! It's stupid to wear yourself out even before the class gets started, doing all of these dumb exercises, this is the crap that gets people hurt, then a person is already fatigued and then attempts some random techniques that are being shown and they get hurt. I absolutely hate these schools.
Honestly I have had a much better experience at GB than at other BJJ schools. If GB Roundhay Leeds is the same as my GB school, they pull the line for technique work where the most experienced students pairs up the newest student. At the other school I went to, you just grabbed the closest dude and all the experienced folks teamed up together because they knew each other. I have received much more attention from the instructor at GB. At the more "traditional" school, it seemed you had to "prove yourself" before you'd get attention. The warm up is awesome too, at my old school we'd go straight into sparring with no warm up other than if you warmed up before class. I saw many injuries and taking 6 minutes to loosen up is fantastic.
This is just the beginning of the warmup 😂 try going to a warmup in Chandler or Scottsdale with Flavio Almeida and his wife Vivi. I was one if the first students in Chandler. Professor Piu kicked my butt everyday. They do not play around. I LOVE GRACIE BARRA! 🤙🏼 hoping this location is able to expand so they can do a full warmup
You do realize most people can't "flow roll" until around mid blue belt right? Sure it starts off light then it quickly progressed to an ADCC death match. WTF is with this new lazy bitch trend of not warming up?

NO PURPLE BELTS WERE HARMED IN THIS WARMUP.
5 sets of goof off until failure in the parking lot. whose with me!?

awesome warm up!
A lot of these people in the comments couldn’t handle judo warm ups if they think this is a problem 😂

I agree,no need for calesthenics unrelated to BJJ to warm up. Warm up with drills!

@@andrewc3180 just a gradual increase in drill speed can do it. Or just a steady speed with few breaks done for time. Not jumping jacks!
Nice warm up
Not my cup of tea, but I like how you guys do the shrimps
Half the class would be over.
I can comfirm you are correct

Dude, you're just wrong... 😂
I agree, GB is one of the most structured Jiu Jitsu schools you can attend. If you can’t do these warmup, take up bingo lmao

If this warm up seems that daunting the problem may be you.
@@ThatKenpoGuystatic stretching doesn’t do anything better to stretch after
Jumping jacks and static stretches. Barf.
What's so wrong
@@bulkyturnip neither of these have applications to BJJ
