Keep in mind this a guy who filmed a pseudo-porno for Impact Wrestling with his wife and another woman. He seems to be living off his former success nowadays while parading his big booty wife around with him and his CBD business. You can't blame him for capitalizing off his former glory days, but he isn't and hasn't always been the best judge of character.
Van Dam had high praise to say about Vince McMahon in one interview, when Vince is a reprehensible person of the most disgusting and despicable kind beyond all his success and wealth and mind for the sports entertainment business.
Vince McMahon is a terrible human being, behind the bastards podcast has a 6 episode special on the long list of evil that that man is. Van Dam seems to be just somebody else getting attention on himself by speaking about Punk in all these interviews.
Many of Van Dam's own peers love CM PUNK. Teddy Long, Rey Mysterio, Steve Austin, Samoa Joe, Half the divas lockerroom of the early 2010s era. Punk is a nicer guy than people give him credit for. Him having a backbone is what makes people want to pick on him, all the spineless people don't get as much heat and vocal hatred as CM Punk does. Nobody is holding the sickos like Vince McMahon or the cowards like Tony Khan accountable but Punk is this bad guy who a couple of people don't like. He didn't deserve to be fired. Tony should have talked with Perry and Punk and handled the situation like an adult, not cry and moan when shit gets hectic. You're the damn owner and you're scared of your employee raising his voice and confronting another employee

Actually think that is super low class and I lost a lot of respect for Rob. Anyone who parades their wife around for all the world to see clearly doesn't value her body very much. Anyway you look at it, it's cheap and disgusting. The problem with the world these days is via the various media and entertainment industries everyone just regards this as normal. Now we live in a society where it's normal for wives and MOTHERS to have only fans or whatever and basically prostitute themselves. Amazing role models for children 👏. Just think, a young girl will grow up thinking her body can have a price tag, or a young boy can now grow up and hear how his friends wank over pictures of his Mum, fucking sickening and degrading. Damaged children create broken adults, FACT.

That last part when RVD talks about questioning yourself later over perceived "slights" was funny. You can't win sometimes. You don't want to be the jerk who gets too defensive and mad over petty things, but you also don't want people thinking they can do/say anything to you either. Sad thing is, when you try to be chill and let things slide, some stupid people will take that as permission to get bold an push it into disrespect. Then when you have to check them, YOU'RE the asshole. They're like "What's that guy's problem? What a dick!"

That being said, if you also pay careful attentsion towards the end, although he has reservations about being too passive, RVD believes it ended up being mroe beneficial in the end for him. Which I believe in wholeheartedly. Because the first REACTION is often a knee-jerk reaction that can be volatile, whereas as a delayed and curated RESPONSE which I believ is what RVD implies and what i agree with. It is often most beneficial in the long run. I dont have to " know " anyone to be able to observe, and interpret body language, actions, context tone and vibes. I think RVD might have really nailed it I don't think Punk is a bad dude but I could definitely see him being way too sensitive in the sense that it probably doesn't take much to piss him off and he overreacts at times and the saddest part is if he had started wrestling in the 80s or 90s it wouldn't be that big of a deal because a lot of the huge stars at that time were like that HBK Rocky Hogan Brett Hart Flair Macho and Warrior all had massive egos back in the day

To what Rob was talking about, for people nowadays "not being committed to the fight but being committed to the dance" nowadays if you don't just lie there and let the other person do their stuff on you you get very quickly accused of sandbagging.
Wrestling fans nowadays don't want to watch a wrestling match. They want to watch a choreographed dance. It's much easier for someone who's never been in a fight before or never wrestled before to judge a dance than it is to judge a sport and still sound like they know things.

That’s not true that all fans are like that, all the big indie marks love that, which also hate Goldberg, that was me my dad’s favorite because he destroyed mother f*ckers, same with Brock lesnar, Kurt angle and Samoa joe, and not because they did Canadian destroyers or any of that dancing stuff, it’s because they were in a “fight” black pool combat club is what we like about AEW, not the elite trampoline act

I agree but I also think we are at a point where wrestling has to be like that. Kayfabe is dead and everyone can watch a wrestling seminar on UA-cam to get a better understanding of how shit works.
You can't compete with the authenticity of MMA and even Hollywood films have tried to be more realistic when it comes to action which means there isn't enough fantasy in the genre of action TV or cinema. Wrestling fills that gap of seeing really interesting and creative interpretations of the idea of a fight, rather than just trying to simulate it, while also at times having guys who can make the fantastical elements feel grounded and earned.
