I got bullied after they moved me to the worst possible department when I returned after my health scare. The manager told me my health issue wasn't permanent despite it being entirely undiagnosed at the time. Guess what? It's permanent. I reported the harassment from 2 people to my general manager. I broke down crying and said if I hadn't tried to take my own life as a teenager, I know for a fact I would've tried now as a result of the abuse. I luckily managed to cling onto the job, and eventually had it out with both of those people. One of them instantly showed how sorry they are, and for the last 3 years we've been friends. The other cunt just took all of my fury and didn't even so much as try to justify it. Her own grandson (he also worked with us at the time) told her it was her fault, he was shocked to hear I even shouted at somebody because I just treat everyone with respect because I didn't want to lose my job.
Might I take a wild guess that you live in the old US of A?? That sort of behaviour does not go on anywhere else in the world. Thats why companies have staff coverage in case of moments like this. YOu also get paid during these sick weeks

My mom worked for a nursing home for 30 years. A model employee went multiple years with perfect attendance, did the job of 3 people, skipped lunches and breaks to get work done, truly cared about the residents, and had ood relationships with her coworkers. She switched to a less physical job that paid better cause she physically couldn't do it anymore. They didn't even throw her a going away party. She had organized countless going away parties for others. They didn't do anything for her and nobody even stopped by to wish her luck or say goodbye. She never got any appreciation for what she did there. Hearing her cry while saying all of this broke my heart and taught me an important lesson: your employer doesn't give a crap about you, you're there to work and that's it.
If you work hard, you have to do it for yourself, not others. Theres no shame in enjoying being a productive worker. And if you expect them to give it back or appreciate it, youll always be heart broken. I always tell my bosses who thank me for the hard work, "listen, I work this way for myself, it makes me feel good, I enjoy it. It has absolutely NOTHING to do with you, your managerial skills or the work environment you create. I would work this way at any job, for any person, because thats who Iam." Shows them off the bat that good workers cant easily be manipulated, because they will try and no one else is going to look out for you.
This man was put through the wringer after being loyal and kind to the company for years. And still in this interview he’s still kind to the company; he’s expressing concern, bad business etc. in a way that’s still respectful. Class act.
Massive respect to Jonathan for not naming names or lashing out, despite being entitled to after such a disgraceful incident. Way to be the bigger man.
Sometimes being the bigger man sucks for real. Especially when you always being the “The Bigger Man”. You start to feel a doormat. You develop that reputation as people think they can walk all over you.
"the bigger man" is just a bullshit trope that was overused in movies in the 80s/90s. Im not talking about idiots that spring to violence as a solution for everything, but the idea of not backing yourself or allowing yourself or loved ones to be walked over under the guise of "being the bigger man" is so stupid. It's also become a bit of a security blankets for cowards that dont want to genuinely confront others, especially bullies. They ironically claim that they were being the bigger man when they know themselves its a 100% lie.@@LeathafaceTV

This is exactly why you should NEVER show unbridled loyalty to any employer. No matter what you think, the employer is only loyal to the business, not the people who help them run it. 99.9% of the time, an employee or contractor is nothing more than an expendable asset.
Yet people think athletes should stay loyal to a team and never leave a team. People feel like free agents should re-sign with the team that drafted them
That’s right! Save money guys, invest! Get something of your own that you can make money off of! The company will write you off BELIEVE IT. Yeah You too!
Coach came into my bar in Nashville sometime in the mid 2000s. I recognized him instantly and got him a round. Chatted very briefly, I didn’t want to impose on his time. He was a class act. Nothing but love for the Coach.
Remember guys, companies do not give a damn about you. No matter how small or big they are. No matter how many years you put in. Your loyalty means nothing.
You give two decades of your life to a company and they can't even be bothered to give you a real answer. Unbelievable. I really wish I had notifs on to have noticed 4k likes and 300 replies-
Coach was great man. Even though he was a despised presence on camera during the 2000s, overtime people learned to appreciate him because he was so damn entertaining. His segments with Eric Bischoff, the Rock, Stone Cold, Vince, DX, John Cena, William Regal etc were gold. Treating someone like that who’s been nothing but loyal for 20 years is just morally wrong.
I personally loved his rivalry with Eugene. He was just the perfect overconfident scumbag character to bully Eugene. Their match at Bad Blood 2004 is not good tbh, but the character work was something I really liked in that.
I absolutely lived for The Rock and Coach segments as a kid. It was the most entertaining form of comedy in the world. Coach is a legend in his own right who needs to be respected. I didn't like the character he played (which we weren't supposed to) but I appreciated the man who went through the efforts to put that character on.
Coach was legit good as a heel commentator. He filled a needed role too as Lawler went off the deep end and started blowing hard around the time Coach was coming on strong
When they added Coach to Raw with Jim Ross and King it was an excellent move. I didn't realize it at the time but looking back it was different and it worked. Especially when Lawler started favoring the faces.
Especially with noo ego about it all. They put him through some embarrassing crap and seemed to have fun more than anything else. Always loved/love The Coach!
They don’t need him nor is he going to bring them in any type of spike in revenue. Why do they need to patch things up with a commentator who was 5th or 6th best at his job

And he was always an asset to WWE sorry that they didn't realize that, and i miss him but unfortunately I've been hearing stories like this, for a long time about Vince not being a good person and valuing money over people, glad to see that Coachman is still doing good and that God put him in his rightful place..
The Coach was one of my favorite characters in the early and mid 2000s in wwe 😂 . He was beyond arrogant sneaky and hilarious at the same time . I wish him nothing but the best he deserves it
Most people credit a wrestler for why they still watch wrestling as an adult. Coachman is my reason. Won front row seats to a local house show when I was little, he got into an argument with me during the show. When the show was over he came back out took some pictures with me and thanked me and my family for coming and letting him go off script for the night.
Theres so many stories like Jonathan Coachman that spand across many industries, not just sports and entertainment. People will see these stories and still want Athletes/Employees/Contractors to be "loyal".

This is a prime example of how large corporations operate. We work our asses off, we're loyal to our obligations, and our "bosses" but we don't get the same loyalty in return. These companies are loyal to one thing, their bottom line. This is why having options are important.
Thats cold ghosting coach like he was a rookie or a newbie. So much greed in companies like that. Thats why you should never be loyal to a company because he could have outted and got so many people in trouble if he wanted to but is being the mature one in this situation.

It really was telling observing how the WWE responded to the pandemic compared to all the other pro wrestling companies. WWE has endless resources and was the least impacted by the loss of live events revenue considering the companies revenues are around 80% from their media and licensing deals. Yet they were the company that furloughed and cut people loose from the jump and continuing throughout while reporting record profits. Meanwhile every other company that were hit way harder by the pandemic not only kept people on but some even hired people that were being let go. Everybody gets the line of publicly traded and such but it was shitty to see that at the time where a company that has those resources really needed to step up for their people but instead was the one of its industry that was cutting everybody loose while a company like an ROH who weren’t even operating continued to honor their talents contracts. It’s one thing if you actually need to cut the costs but it’s another when you’re a WWE. But then again it’s not like them being ruthless was some revelation either.
Love the coach. You can just see he is over that place. I’m so glad he is doing what he is doing. He doesn’t need to go backwards and go to wwe. Sometimes in life you just realise you don’t need to be around negative work places.
I worked for a company for three years. Brought in 10 years of prior experience. Showed up every day on time, had to fight to get any breaks, was one of the highest performers because I could close a call in half the time. If I ever heard customer complaints I would do my best to adjust my work. The problem they had was that I did not plug the companies website all the time. I did not say all the required catch phrases to meet their rubric. My issue was that I only made 10$ an hour and had to work 6 weeks to barely make rent every month. If you can’t pay me a living wage, threatening to fire me does not work.
I had a manager give me ultimatiums manager was a woman. Who thought she was the store manager anyways she gave me 2 ultimatiums simply for not wanting to work sundays and i also was working 2 jobs. Must’ve been even more difficult during peak Covid the uncertain at that time was on the rise and that’s just unfortunate to what happened to Coach and I assume many other people
I know the feeling, I sympathize. Worked for different companies, knew people, got along well, but whenever a crisis came up, I was always let go. Several times. I believe in working hard, showing up on time, doing my best. But, NEVER trust a company. Sleep with one eye open, don't turn your back.
Plain and simple. Its insane the levels of sociopathic behavior extremely wealthy individuals and corporations have towards trying to get people to work for free and get free labor.

About the working 52 weeks a year stuff, I truly don't understand how WWE doesn't rotate talent when they have such a massive roster and so many other people onboard. They could so easily do this if they don't want to do an off-season.
Never forget that Coach bumped for all the greats - including being verbally and physically berated by all the wrestlers we thought were ‘heroes’ growing up. The two owners of XFL are Vince & The Rock…. And neither of them reached out to offer him a hand. I guess the truth is that the Heels are actually the Faces in real life, and vice versa.
People don’t need you til they need you. Remember, people aren’t loyal to you, they are loyal to the need of you. Once their need of you is gone, so is the loyalty
4:52 Back in his first run with WWE, it was a private business 100% run by Vince and Coachman got used to the fact that if there was something that had to be taken care of, he *could* go to Vince directly, or he *could* talk to someone like Jim Ross, or Pat Patterson, who were some of Vince's right-hand guys and could get whatever needed to get done done because their word was as good as Vince's. When he returned, it was a publicly-owned company with a board of directors and executives, essentially a HUGE layer of suits and gatekeepers below Vince, who didn't care that Coach had previously worked there for 20+ years or had been unflinchingly loyal to Vince all those years; they saw him not as "The Coach", but as just another independent contractor who "can wait until we get around to doing whatever he's asking us to do". As Coach pointed out, for suits like that, there's no loyalty, and they sure don't care about relationships, or the little guy; they just care about their bonuses and the company's bottom line. Coach got used to that level of access in his first go-round, but his access to Vince was NEVER going to be the same once he left the company and returned after WWE went public.
You are correct but you are forgetting an extra layer to this. It’s not just that it was a public company. It was the XFL specifically he is talking about. Vince owned it but it was it’s own separate thing outside of WWE that he owned. It went bankrupt with Covid and they clearly used that as an out to not have to pay Coach here. Which is a shitty thing to do and they could have found a way to make up some fee he was owed from the WWE side of the house to make it right. But they technically had an out and they used it to screw him over.
I'm assuming that Coachman is talking about his experience working for XFL 2.0. I believe he might also have been around for the original incarnation of the XFL, and this is what he saw: Vince's face was plastered all over the merchandising, Vince and The Rock were at the inaugural game, Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler were the play-by-play and color guy for the inaugural game, and plenty of cross-promotion of the XFL on WWE TV. It may as well have been called WWE Football, or "Vince McMahon's XFL". That being the case, I am not surprised in the least that Coachman thought that he could just go through Vince if there was an issue with the XFL, regardless of whether it was a separate entity, which of course it was, and they let Coach know *real quick* that (a) he couldn't just go to Vince like he was used to, and (b) being a former longtime WWE guy meant absolutely zero.
@@georgenoriegajr yeah he is talking about XFL 2.0 here. They had like 4 or 5 games in that season and then it got shut down when Covid first took off in the US. Then later on the XFL went bankrupt and it got liquidated and that is how The Rock/Friends wound up owning it now. But technically since he was owed money by the XFL and not WWE proper as they were completely separate companies, just owned by the same man. They had a built in out to say “sorry our bad company went under we can’t pay anyone” and instead of then repaying him for being loyal all those years and them finding a way to pay him somehow from the WWE side they wiped their hands of it.

You were gonna kill yourself over a job? Sounds like you have bigger problems than a crappy boss

Hearing her cry while saying all of this broke my heart and taught me an important lesson: your employer doesn't give a crap about you, you're there to work and that's it.
that’s why if I have to break the rules from time to time I do it, no hesitation at all
If you work hard, you have to do it for yourself, not others.
I would work this way at any job, for any person, because thats who Iam."
Shows them off the bat that good workers cant easily be manipulated, because they will try and no one else is going to look out for you.
And then employers act surprised when no one wants to work for them anymore or get pissed when employees do the bare minimum
That's the way it is. I go above and beyond, and nobody cares. I get one complaint, and I get called to the boss's office. It's a joke.
And they wonder why employee loyalty doesn't exist anymore.
Some people aren’t loyal to you, they are loyal to their need in you. Once their need changes so does their loyalty

I wouldn’t go that far but he was entertaining
In my opinion n this is just personal but his voice is just as iconic in my wrestling memories as JR and King doing commentary
I agree on a lot of what you’re saying because Coach was such a great heel character and to work for a company 20 years to end like that…just wrong.
Yeah he was good at what he did but Unsung Hero??🤨 that's a reach
I personally loved his rivalry with Eugene. He was just the perfect overconfident scumbag character to bully Eugene. Their match at Bad Blood 2004 is not good tbh, but the character work was something I really liked in that.
The coach and the rock segments really made my childhood thank you coach.. you deserved better.

Coach was legit good as a heel commentator. He filled a needed role too as Lawler went off the deep end and started blowing hard around the time Coach was coming on strong
Coach was an awesome heel commentator.

When they added Coach to Raw with Jim Ross and King it was an excellent move. I didn't realize it at the time but looking back it was different and it worked. Especially when Lawler started favoring the faces.

And the rock should induct him. Those two were hilarious together

Coach and the rock had classic moments. Coach definitely was an impactful part of WWE

Let’s not assume Rock even knew anything about this? Maybe Vince never notified Rock about this?
Coach deserves a wwe hof spot , he was amazing in the attitude era
He was a great heel back in the 2000s.
Coach has a great contribution in awesomeness of our childhood. Sad to see him experiencing all this and that he would never turn up for WWE.
I got much respect for Coachman. He was entertaining and was loyal. The way that was done to him is so disrespectful.
This man has not aged at all
Everyone is expendable, no matter how loyal they are
Sad but true.
Coach being interviewed at a country club really completes his Carlton Banks story arc.
@user-tn8uu2cu8g Sorry bruh, can’t follow a guy who marries 9 year olds. But good for you.
@@stlunatic6006 Yeah that stinks for Coachman. He's a nice guy who got caught in a bad spot.
