Honestly this is one of the best episodes in all of anime, and there wasn't any big fight at all!
It was all psychological and the tension with the perfect soundtrack at all the right moments! Definitely one of my favorite anime episodes of all time.
This is such a strong episode emotionally, and all the impact Sasha brought for everyone really showed. Got me crying at 8am 😂

he has a God complex now from being the only survivor of the wrath of Zeke, when he alone dragged the commander back from HELL, only for the Scouts to spit on him and the old ways in favor of team Eren and a dream. He really said "clearly Zeke and Eren are the power players here, if I want to be taken seriously, i'll follow them."
I think this is one of the most masterfully written episodes of the entire show. No fireworks or incredible reversals, but emotionally a rollercoaster and bringing almost all the players together in one place, even Eren. It just has terrific impact.
From a writing perspective this is probably the best written episode in the show (Declaration of War is also up there).
It sets up the wine, it finishes the Sasha storyline, exposes Zekes plan, sets up the Levi vs Zeke battle and the Eren discussion.
All of that in 20 minutes...
That starting sequence, finally seeing how Ragako village was transformed into titans back in season 2 - it's such a chilling revelation.
This is probably one of the most emotionally charged episodes - finally seeing the truth come out and the clash between Gabi and Nicolo, how Sasha's family continues to defend Gabi even after they find out she killed her daughter. The most heartbreaking part was Sasha's dad monologue about the world being just one big forest and how kids should be kept out of it - seeing such a wise advice from him and his willingness to forgive Gabi, it really hurts.
Nicolo's emotional anguish this episode was palpable - first saving his friends from drinking the wine, then realizing what he was about to do by threatening to kill Gabi - poor guy was really put through hell.
Eren showing up with his little band of nutjobs, sitting down and saying he wants to talk with his two oldest friends - can't wait for the reaction to next episode! Perfect way to end on a cliffhanger.

Favorite episode. The first half of this episode was just a masterclass in tension and then letting all the characters collide with each other and seeing what happens. The voice actors for Gabi, Nicolo, and Kaya were incredible (Kaya's cries are haunting). Mr. Braus with that wonderful speech. Then later with Levi and those old scenes "projected" onto the background trees while he was thinking ❤ Then it starts to feel very complicated because you've got all these characters and they each have a different perspective and motivation (or at least the new ones do). Gabi and Falco have different perspectives, Nicolo and Greiz (the other Marleyan chef), Onyakupon and Yelena, all different. Later you'll see that even our "villains" Yelena, Flock, Zeke, and Eren have slight (or maybe not so slight) differences as well. Makes for a juicy story!!

The beauty of this episode is the scene with Nicole and Mr. Braus. Along with the speech Mr. Braus uses to diffuses him.
However the scene is raised to another level due to the fact that Hajime Isayama doesn't ignore that Kaya is in the room.
Kaya, the girl who considered Sasha to be like a sister to her is in the room and she is realizing that Gabi killed Sasha.
That attention to detail in not ignoring Kaya's feelings and how she would process the events unfolding in front of her is the "Chief's kiss" of story telling.
The next episode is titled "Savagery" and it is SAVAGE.
I hope you girls are ready.
P.S. Flaco takes so many L's for Gabi and she doesn't understand just how much he cares for her.

I enjoy the Dub's version of that conversation between Levi and Zeke a little more because I think it rings true to the fanbase:
Zeke: "Well, you couldn't have been popular the girls,"
Levi: "I was popular enough"

Nicolo appear for like 5 episodes and is probably one of the best side characters in the show.

This is considered one of the best overall episodes in AoT history. Maybe not the best, if you consider the episodes like Hero and in that arc, but it's right up there.. and with very little actual action going on as well. Just great writing and story telling.

It's not a spoiler... Eren is the Attack Titan. A titan that only seeks freedom, doesn't obey anyone. With that being said, Eren isn't being manipulated by anyone.

This is a spoiler, the Attack Titan's abilities are still far too vague to make that argument convincing. Also note how in the past Eren has been manipulated and betrayed despite being the Attack Titan, so the argument doesn't even hold up. Most importantly, Eren potentially being manipulated is suggested as a possibility at this point in the story, so you are spoiling a plot point.
