Just to be clear, Eren made sure to wait until they declared war against Paradis, before he transformed.

Which imo makes it that much more tragic that Willy didnt consider going a different route with his speech, as Eren was constantly waiting for something to prove his visions wrong, and if there ever was a real chance at peace, it probably was there and then and unfortunately the last one before Eren made the 80% a fact, not fiction told in supposed history books.
Willy: I declare War
Eren: Alright it’s showtime
Eren: “Reiner, I understand why you ruined my life, so I need you to understand that I have to do the same to you.”
His life was already ruined

There is a reason why eren waited for tybur to finish his line “Declare War on paradise with the world forces” he told and signified that the ones starting this war were the world.

Willy declared war,he's among the first who died.
But it's not like he didn't have a point.. and in fact of course knew that he was at risk doing so. I know we're not supposed to be on "his side" but he made a lot of valid points

Isayama is really crazy.
It's my 2nd favorite episode of this show. It's so amazing, and for the most part, they just talk. Says a lot about it.
The way Eren psychologically tortured Reiner this episode was on another level. He slowly made him admit everything he did, all over again (which hurt that much more, knowing in what a fragile mental state Reiner is during this conversation), all while Willy Tybur was presenting his grand play/plan.
Porco and Pieck getting trapped just as Eren kept pressing Reiner with questions and Willy revealed the truth about King Fritz and the need to take back the Founding Titan - it's all falling into place too perfectly - this episode fills you with anxiety.
It's so ironic - how Willy used the "uprising" on Paradis Island (the population there learning the truth about the corrupt leadership) to set the stage of a huge war against them.
The rumbling is finally introduced to us as a concept and it sounds terrifying - no wonder Willy has such an easy time convincing the world they need to invade Paradis Island to retake the Founding Titan.
"I keep moving forward. Until I destroy my enemies." - talk about a declaration of war! - You said it perfectly, Magy.
Don't worry about it, you haven't said anything stupid at all. It's such an intense, brilliant episode that nobody would judge or blame you for your mind going into overdrive.

Spoilers in comments....Actually, I have a different opinion of what Eren was doing to Reiner. Looking back after watching the finale, it feels like Eren was really sympathizing with Reiner here, rather than trying to torture him like u said. I think Eren did mean what he said but unfortunately, he had no choice but to move forward.

He was explaining to Reiner that he understood what and why he did, and that he was about to do the same. He wasn't torturing him for funsies or anything, he was actually being sympathetic.

@@rabela1810 I disagree. I think Eren was ACTING empathic, like Reiner acted empathic with Eren before betraying him.
For me, this is why Eren is like "I said I would make you suffer ? Nevermind..." just to "betray" him even more.

What bothers me about Willy Tybur’s speech is the fact that he makes Eren look like he’s the bad guy when he’s actually just defending himself and the island from what they did to Paradise Island when they sent warriors to destroy the walls. It’s not that he says, "Eren has the founding titan now and he’s pissed at Marley because we attacked them even though they wouldn’t do anything against us since they didn’t even know we existed!" They do not take responsibility for what is happening, simply the bad guys are always those of the island, regardless of what they do.
Too convenient to think that those of the island had to be killed and swept away by them without saying anything. 🤦♀

Because that's the point of the story, the world always blames all their sins and hatred on Paradis island and never looks back at themselves
@@oo4292 I know that in the story of the anime it is done on purpose, but it is still a wrong concept that the Marleans consider only the sins of others but not those who make them 😉

Actually Tybur was with the king because if the king had the founding titan he would not do anything because of the vow. Since the founding titan was stolen it was obvious that the person who stole that can attack them because that person is not bound by any vow. So that's why they were seeing Eren and the paradis as enemy because there is a possibility they will fight back unlike King Fritz.
You should have noticed that the people in that builiding were hostage to reiner and eren was a threat. And eren didn't waste any time.which almost never happens in anime...
