It's amazing the number of old box cars still in use today. CSX had a couple from Boise Cascade, a couple from Southern Pacific, another from the Cotton Belt and one from Wisconsin Central. Also saw a hopper car from Burlington Northern. Many of the old rail cars don't look to be in very good condition, but there still on the rails.
@@WideWorldofTrains there used to be a Southern Pacific line by my home in Northwest Orange County that ran from Santa Ana California to a rail yard in Los Angeles County. Union Pacific shut the line down over 20+ years ago. There were 2 lines that branched off that line. One of those lines is around 100 years old now, laid by a Japanese immigrant. This line goes to Huntington Beach California.
Wow...where do I begin??!! Love that KCS unit not only leading the consist, but opening your show. That CSX inspection train was a gem ✨✨...lead car (ex-SP, now a private car + ex-CP baggage car, also PV, most interesting). Bay Line trash cars (???) @20:50 with HDPX reporting marks...how neat is that?? Cool as KCS & NS Lash up on the CSX line and geometry train. Seen a green autorack I couldn't identify. Man you could play autorack bingo with how many different companies they run!! 0:25 We are at the CSX Middle Road crossing on the east side of Dunkirk, New York on 5 November 2022. At 0:50 CSX train #B781 comes around the curve off the east end of the elevated tracks through Dunkirk, New York. On the left side of the tracks in the Dunkirk Rail Yard, we see the CSX jet engine self-powered snow removal machine that is used to clear snow from switches in the Dunkirk Rail Yard. You can search through the Wide World of Trains videos for videos of this machine in action in the Dunkirk Rail Yard. At 1:16 CSX train #B781 starts across Middle Road. The train is powered by a Kansas City de Mexico engine and a Norfolk Southern engine. At 2:44 CSX train #B781 passes Middle Road. We watch CSX train #B781 as it continues to Sewaren, New Jersey. CSX train #B781 originates at the Belt Railway of Chicago’s Clearing Yard in Chicago, Illinois. The train is brought to the Clearing Yard by the Canadian National Railroad. The train originates at an ethanol plant that is located along the Canadian National Railroad’s former Illinois Central Railroad Iowa Division. There is a CSX ethanol train #B815 that CSX picks up from the Canadian Pacific Railroad at its Bensenville Yard in Bensenville, Illinois that is delivered to Curtis Bay in Baltimore, Maryland. The Canadian Pacific ethanol train would also originate in Iowa at an ethanol plant that is located on former Milwaukee Road trackage. 3:40 We are at the CSX Middle Road crossing in Dunkirk, New York. We watch as the train speeds past us and heads around the curve that takes the train up the east end of the elevated tracks through Dunkirk, New York. At 5:24 you zoom in on the Milepost 37 signal bridge. The lights are still lite. We see that there is a green signal for a CSX train that will be coming on track #2 at some point in the future. At 5:34 the lights on the Milepost 37 signal bridge turn off. 5:43 We are at the Lake Road crossing in Pomfret, New York on 8 December 2022. We are looking east at CSX train #M567.
