The railroads really need to get a " jiggywiddit" detector for those wobblers. Train meet alright!! Great lighting with the shadows on the train. Lots of great action on this one. Thanks much!
Of all the videos I've seen where vehicles caught at a railroad crossing, this is the first and probably the only one where the driver was smart enough to move regardless of the damage he may cause to the RR equipment or his truck.
"Holy Smokes, Jack!!!" You deserve TWO thumbs-up for this one! Not one, not two, but THREE "Fallen Flags Alrights" on CSX M205...ConRail @3:35, two SP's @4:40, and a CR "Quality" @4:56. You're "motoring" WWOT!!!
Wow! Patriot engineer shake raddle and roll that car was dancing He you must have a new camera that was very vivid to see great shoot sir keep it up God Bless you patriot thank you sir stay blessed patriot engineer ding ding ding ding ding
Glad too see you well over the 100K subscriber threshold. You deserve! That sharp eye picks out the subtulties the average viewer would have missed. Regards from Georgia US.
What about the defect detector? Isn't that detection what it is for? Central command should know and radio the conductor/engineer, you would think! JIM
I live approximately 30 miles north of Detroit Michigan, Lake Orion, all we sadly have are RAIL TRAILS, last Train through our area was late 1960’s or very early 1970’s, from Bay City, Michigan down to Detroit, Michigan.
When you see cars wobble and shake like that makes you wonder how they don't derail another awesome train meet wow another great video with some awesome wwot simply amazing DPU Alright Roll it
@@WideWorldofTrains totaling agree wwot I see very fast trains with cars wobbling and shaking like that quite often it scares me sometimes another great video wwot DPU Alright Roll it
That first train was in full gallop! The wobbly railcar was where the very whip itself was striking, so it was! Unusual to see CSX run 2 long trains without DPU ALRIGHTS. Thanks, mate 👍
The gondola with the "wobbly" truck(s)certainly has something amiss. Many years ago (as an employee) I saw a pig flat on the rear is a 70 mph train oscillating, much like the gon, so much so that I reported the event to the Mechanical Dept. and instructed the crew to reduce speed. Inspection by mechanical folks found different side frames (!) on the car.
You mention every trains origination point and destination. When I see a CSX locomotive pulling many many automobile carriers from Buffalo to Ohio, I wonder why would any carrier want so many auto carriers in Ohio, unless, of course, its Honda in Marysville. If you could add some context that would explain why a train stops at a location. Also, most of your captured trains all originate and stop in the Pennsylvania area. How does freight from New York get to Los Angeles; does at least some of it traverse the area you cover. Since I was a kid (centuries ago) I have had an intense interest in trains. I really enjoy what you do, keep up the good work. Dan Brazell Palm Springs, California
Wow, maybe there could’ve been a rough spot on the train track rails or the trains wheel? Who knows, anyways great job Wide World of Trains! I’m gonna be camping for the weekend :D
Wondering, how do you know the origin and destination of the trains you show in the videos? Is there a computer program or app for train activity? Do you perhaps listen on a radio? Thanks for the good videos!! JIM 🥰
I don't know what it is about those short height gondolas but your video isn't the first time I've seen one of those wiggling like that... unless it's the same gondola having been captured by multiple people on different trains in different places 🤔
That oscillation is known as hunting. It primarily affects empties and starts at about fifty mph. It can get violent enough to derail the train. I've ridden a couple of cars that did that, and it isn't much fun;)
I notice you do not catch the eastbound Lakeshore Limited which comes through Dunkirk daily around 8am. Impressive as it does 79 mph rural. Saw it roar through Angola yesterday.
This is known has hunting....when I worked at CC/IC it was not to uncommon for centerbeams to do this over 45 mph ..as well as a empty beat up gondola....we used to get them so beat up out of behr in Rockford I could swear the car was tweaked....when my father worked at BN he claimed he had a SD70mac hunt.
The wobbling rail car looks an accident waiting to happen. Lots of auto racks in today's video. NS 309 was a very long train compared to what we usually see with NS trains. Nice train meet to start things off even though it was a long distance.
Do those defect detectors catch those cars and report them? Looks like that could make a derailment happen. @3:32 Two CSX engines with 3 digit numbers. Cool!! All auto racks too!!
WILD, wheel impact load detectors will detect hunting and pounding on the rail from flat spots. The car will be flagged in the system. If necessary the RTC will call the crew with a speed restriction or if it is bad enough have them set it out.
By chance would this be the CSX Erie west sub and the NS Lake Erie district? I live in Painesville Ohio and them running next to each other is so familiar
you can just call the 206 the ford express their lordstown plant is there! i think it's doing trucks right now! had a drag go through yesterday that'd blew your mind trains a old F1 an end cab and 2 cabooses on the end of the manifest it had to be a museum shipment!

On that wobbling car. Are you able to call those in with your connections? You see more issues resl time than most crews.
Keep'em coming...great work.
WWoT gets a great workout going back and forth between the CSX and NS tracks everyday...💪

Wow! That car was rocking and rollin! Does the engineer have any idea when that's occurring? Nice train meets. Great job as usual.
Good question!
If it's a good conductor "yes".....a good conductor should be using every chance he gets, curves and open land to perform a train check.
What about the defect detector? Isn't that detection what it is for?
Central command should know and radio the conductor/engineer, you would think!

WOW the 008 was a clean train.

Cannot believe that condola wagon is allowed on the railtracks with that sort of wobbling, derailment just looking for somewhere to happen.
I agree. The truck pin could be bent maybe?
