Those LORAM units @2:54 were a "RailVac", and a crew car (heavily-modified freight caboose). The RailVac retrieves mud-impacted (e.g.) ballast, cleans it, and returns it to the right-of-way. It's typically followed by oversized hopper cars as part of the whole system. During a RailVac operation, an employee (on the ground, just ahead of the RailVac) operates a large vacuum hose suspended from the RailVac cab. Nice BN autorack @15:01...a Triple Crown -- "bleached-out" by the late-day sun -- slipped-by @16:54. 👍👍👌👌
Yes, Mike that car bounced like a kangaroo mate! Cool catch on the LORAM Kit, it was maybe a ballast separator (I seen a conveyor belt). Some of the trains were massive today! Thanks Mike from Wide World of Trains on UA-camaah! 🚂🇺🇸🇦🇺🚂🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇦🇺🇦🇺
Sounds like a Leslie model RS3 horn maybe on CSX M634,cool Loram equipment, didn't sound like a Nathan air horn, maybe a former Conrail unit, use to hear alot of the Leslie RS-5T on NS after Conrail was acquired by NS and CSX, deer 🦌 was lucky!🛤🚂👍
Never get tired of train meets. M368 was huge and really bookin jack with a cool piece of maintenance equipment tagging along. Nice work as always.Mike.
@2:54, that is a Loram railvac. A specialty track excavator. It is a GIANT vacuum cleaner. Supposed to be really good in tunnels and the like where you cannot get big equipment.
The M567 was cool. Pretty long and I really like the green hopper. The near siding in the shot looks in dire need of repair. I hope they don't use it often. 😊😊
Ah yes, feeding time at the dog pound with a helping of barking seals on the side but the DPU can always be counted on to drown it out for a few seconds. Couldn't agree more on the Loram MOW equipment. Train meet alright! The long shadow shots are a plus, you can't beat it when the light has that quality. Liked this one much, thanks Mike!
Another great video from WWOT! Weird to see railgringer equipment around this area. I feel like railfans around the WNY area haven’t seen a rail grinder. Unless maybe I’ve just never seen one. Cool train meet! Also, what did CSX #3340 have labeled on it? The last car on the CSX I008 did jump in the air a little bit. The bouncing of the rails and the speed of the train can really get those cars jumping!!!
JawTooth has been rail fanning a bridge he calls "bouncy bridge". Well a while back the NS people went out there to check it, they said oh it's alright, then 2 weeks later and Palestine happened, well about 2 months later they went out and repaired the bridge like new, imagine that.
that loram was too short to be a grinder unless it was just a section of the grinder! it might have been a ballast cleaner it went by too fast for a good look at it though!! 017 had a new company's containers on it! same problem though the speed kept a good look from being got!!!

CXS . Is Great 👍
Yes they are!
One of the cars on the trash train appeared to have a fire of its contents.
Awesome video keep up with a great work and be safe out there. 👍 😀

Hi.
Lovely! The track at your fave crossing gets even worse! Will they run a tamper over It? By the looks of the rest of the track, possibly not.....
And a train race to begin with a deer!
Yep, the last car of 008 jumped. Worryingly, all the empties would do the same,,,,
I think I watch this premier last night but I was late to getting to watch it I'm getting to watch the replay now PS DPU ALRIGHT
Wonder what happened to the Wide World of Train Car. We haven’t seen it for awhile.
It was seen last week

Great point!
Do know the difference between deer nuts and beer nuts? Beer nuts are $1.39 a bag. And deer nuts are under a buck.
