  • Installed a water heater booster (thermostatic mixing valve) to extend the amount of hot water I got out of my 40 gallon water heater. Tested the output before and after and saw a 41% improvement.

Can’t argue with the data and they’re pretty simple to install. 👍

Because you only run a hot water line to your shower, instead of both a hot and a cold?

That doesn't sound like a booster that sounds like a mixing valve

Why not just turn up the heat on the water heater then you're forced to turn on the cold water to compensate and then you can get the shower exactly where you want it. But people like to waste money I guess

Because if you turn up the water heater too high, your hot water is so hot that you can scald someone out of the facet. With kids in the house, this is much safer way to do it.

@@KiefferProjects or you could just teach your kids which would be a lot cheaper and easier and a lot more responsible

@@KiefferProjects another problem with that is at 120° water in your furnace or water heater it is a breeding ground for bacteria. If you check it out you would understand. That's why hospitals have so many staph infections

@licensetochill79 you have no idea what you are talking about.
He can teach his kids and take precautions. Its not mutually exclusive.
This doesnt lower the temp in your tank, this mixes cold water so you can keep your tank hotter without scalding someone.
Staph thrives at 87-98.6 f. 120 may allow it to survive but it is not optimal and this would allow him to keep his water heater hotter and therefore be less hospitable to staph.
Are you a bot or are you just confidently wrong?

@@biggentallen I really don't know what I'm talking about . You make me laugh is the same thing about teaching your children about firearm safety. If you teach them they will learn or are you too afraid that your children won't learn . And staff does thrive in 120 degrees water I do it for a living buddy

and if it weren't for the damned Manchurian you would still be able to by an 80 gallon water heater.

It's a newer gas water heater, so it's not malfunctioning, its just at capacity.
