    Way to go Dave! I work at Scheels in Sandy, UT and walked by a video screen with your face on it and saw that we sell this awesome tool! I didn't realize it was designed by your father, that is great!!! Congrats! Thanks for all of the educational videos, they help a lot!

    Congrats Dave and family!! I first bought my pocket hunter system a little over a year ago. Maybe two years. And I gotta tell ya I love it! Took some getting used to at first. But I've got the hang of it now. Only thing I haven't done is bow fish with it yet. But I have practiced with the fishing attachment and it works just fine. Your a man of your word and I'm confident you won't put out a bunk product. Thank you!!

    out of all of the survival gear produced from survival instructors in the past few years this is the most thought out and well made! Not to mention all of the design and R&D was done by Dave instead of just slapping his name on something designed by someone else. Thanks Dave i cant wait to buy one!

    I purchased the adapter kit from your store. I have had a crossman sling shot since the 80's. It really is that simple. Opened the box, walked to the shed got 3 arrows from my quiver. Walked to the back yard bolted it on and started shooting. At 12-15 yards I hit an area about a pie plate pretty regular. One other thing, this was the 3rd time I've ordered something from you since you opened your new store. The order process if easy, the shipping is really fast and the products are great, thanks

    I think he is just really good at seeing himself through the eyes of the viewer and that makes him aware of almost every possible question a viewer might have so he takes the oppurtunity to explain that issue right away instead of having to answer a lot of comments or making more videos on the same subject :)

    I was practicing with my sling bow one day with my friends and I let them try to hit a tree with a field point and a cheap arrow. eventually they gave up and I picked up the bow and shot the metal gun target next to it that was the size of a baseball at 10 yards. I broke the arrow but really impressed my friends. great idea and product and a ton of fun.

    Wow, excellent design, I just made a sling bow with a sling shot and I saw the marksman at the store, I had a hard time deciding which I wanted beside price. I have fired my sling bow with golf tee knocks and key ring guide, but after this video I can see the amount of flawlessness in delivery of arrows too the arrow design. Im in awe... What comes to my mind with the take down arrows is due to their cost(though their worth every penny of $48)is the cost of loosing them if you miss the deer or wild boar you're shooting at.I don't mean to sound negative,just realistic.Hopefully you're a good shot and have practiced with cheaper arrows in order to be proficient with your new slingshot.To save money(I'm on a very strict budget due to my low pay)I bought the Marksman slingshot which only has the bow setup,not selfrelianceoutfitters slingshot.Hopefully I can become good at hitting targets then wild game once I practice.Thanks for the video,Dave.

    Thanks for posting all these videos. It's a wonderful outdoor education, especially considering that it's free!
    That's an ingenious upgrade for a slingshot! I always used to carry slingshot bands in my survival kit, but it would've never occurred to me to use a slingshot to shoot arrows. That makes a considerable upgrade to its versatility to say the least. It looks like it would a lot of fun to fish with! About how much difference is there in arrow speed between the 42# bands & the 52# bands?

  • @kullcraven

    Hi dave, i shocked all my friends when i made one of the ones you made with the key ring. I found exactly what you said the arrow had drag across the rubber. It had decent accuracy but , the drag got to the point it wasnt consistant. I now have a pvc pipe set up i seen on yout tube here, it works but i didnt use it much. I wanted the whisker biscuit, but very exspensive, like 50 bucks here man . They changed the design , so wouldnt work anymore anyhow. great vid take care.

    Even though this is a good enough product to be sold as a standalone hunting and shooting device where it would really shine is teaching young people how to shoot bows and arrows. I have a 5 year old nephew who just got his first youth bow from one of the chain stores sporting goods stores and his biggest problem is keeping the arrow on the rest, with this the problem is solved. granted we only spent $25 on a bow and three arrows and the next upgrade was $75 and came with the whisker biscuit, but this would teach all the fundamentals before he stepped up to the next level. thanks for making a great product

    Hi Dave thanks for all the great instruction, your vids are top notch! My question is this, you mention several times that the hunting arrows can be utilized in bows as well as the slingshot placing emphasis on medium game, but are the arrows/arrow slingshot package utilizing the stronger bands capable of handling game ranging in the 100 to 150 lbs weight range? As lower tech bows/crossbows are still used today, what are your thoughts on extreme survival situations utilizing this package?

  • @ronleander69
    @ronleander69 10 років тому

    I just bought a pocket hunter not that long ago, and I just wanted to share a modification I made. I have arrows that have plastic fletching, so when shooting with the heavy bands the arrow would get pinched in the back and want to come out of the gap at the top of the pocket hunter. What I did is tape over the gap with duct tape so the arrow cannot come out the top. Loading is a little more of a pain but the accuracy has improved a lot. I cant wait to try some fishing for some grass carp :)

    I see why you finally decided to patent this idea, in a previous video you said you wanted to be open and available to everyone but you know somebody would jump on it and patent it out from underneath you. I personally feel a whisker biscuit or bristle type arrow rest would be a little more effective for consistent shots. Thank you for making this in America, by Americans, for the whole world to enjoy. I could see this on a Saturday morning infomercial for grandparents to buy their grandkids to teach them how to shoot a bow and arrow.

This is amazing, it's funny because there was a video by KGBsurvivalist I believe a few days ago showing the keyring method. By the way, can we buy those amazing bands separately? Anyway, thanks a lot. This is awesome. I bet it would go great in special forces survival packs!
