I've had my head in Voltage Modular 2 since it got release and gotta say, really enjoying this one. Got a great tip here to incorporate all your software into this modular environment... watch on!

That was quick! Nice one
Absoluetly the most underated plugin of all time. Infinite possibilities and can make everysound possible pretty much.
Wow that Really extends the possibilities for Automating Modulation of VSTs doesn't it.
Well spotted Sir, well ferreted out 🖖
I HAVE used the Host before but I'd not gone That far into it's workings.
So well done You.
You should do videos for Cherry. Excellent video, thank you very much.
Thank you :)
Mine blowing stuff! I have Unfiltered Audio's LION so I could do this, but I didn't know you could do it in voltage modular. I have some of their stuff but not really explored it, but this is a good excuse to go a bit deeper into what it can do.
I liked Softube Modular very much . . . I have 88 modules for it!
But, when I discovered Cherry Audio’s Voltage, I went crazy. I currently have 288 modules and will buy more later . . .
I find both instruments more flexible and variable then my Arturia V Collection’s Moog Modular.
I just now discovered you, and I subscribed w/ a thumbs up.
Great stuff. One thing I'm trying to understand is cross patching between the software and my Eurorack modules. Worlds of fun to be had there.
Mind blowing possibilities, eh? Love that Euclidean module, grabbed it for half price in the sale so it is even sweeter.
I've watched several of these videos and I still don't understand how or why to use this. I got this software with my recent purchase of Mixcraft pro 9 and seems like a lot of fun to use but being a complete novice to synth, I'm completely baffled and always default back to playing metal heh
Hello
Beautiful patch at the end of this tutorial bravo maestro !
I've just buy this plugin
Amazing ! But not easy to play with it ,and not too much tutorial on you tube .
If you can and have time ,make some small tutorial will be great !!!
Thanks
Hey, I'll try at some stage to do more modular videos... Cherry audio themselves have some good tutorial content. Check Venus Theory as well if you're looking for more.
Thanks for the video!
Super cool Nate. Would be cool to see you go more into Euclidean sequencing perhaps triggering chords next time. Also curious, is there use case where envelope following modulation/CV sent a master cutoff or volume knob creates an effect of gluing a whole patch together dynamically or rhythmically?
Yeah sure, you could use an envelope follower too... Voltage modular has audio inputs so technically you should be able to have an envelope follower on something like a vocal routed to a filter on a synth and modulating it in line with the vocal.
The thumbnail looks so clean! Also the synth is great but VCV rack is better IMO
VCV is great but its a buggy mess.
IMHO. It's awesome for messing around in... But Voltage 2 is rock solid, an absolute dream to patch, and works seamlessly in a DAW. I know it's supposedly coming, buts it taking forever and kinda useless to me till they sort that out.
@@MarulaMusic There has been a port for VCV rack to vst for a while now: github.com/bsp2/VeeSeeVSTRack IDK if it's official but it works well for me!
@@Projektor_music Yeah not official last I checked... tried this and didn't work at all for me.
This is awesome. The thing that are really like to achieve is that I've got a few free VST that are monophonic and I'd really like to turn him into a polyphonic synth. Wouldn't that be awesome with we could turn a monophonic VST into a polyphonic VST? Can this be done with this plug-in host module?
And I agree with this guy here full stop the possibilities are now endless and endless and endless and infinitum. Just imagine using u-he filtercape and MFM2 within voltage modular. Wow wow wow this would be? All I've got to say is Gary Numan. Jean Michel Jarre. John Foxx. Vince Clarke. Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark and Kraftwerk eat your heart out. Just imagine what those guys could do with this plug-in as well as us. It is possible in this plug-in in to recreate any sounds that the for mentioned artists made.
Can you access fxb and fxp sounds on plugins that haven't got a load preset button on it? Because there's a load of free plugins they haven't got their own generic soundbank loading button on it. You have to manually load them into your DAW.
Anyway thank you for loading the video and I found it very very informative and I'm incredibly grateful to you fella for uploading it.
Great job.
Pure.
Yes, but you basically have to build it out the same way as you'd make a polyphonic patch in VM without using poly modules. Would mean quite a few instances of the monophonic VST, but it'd work... probably kill your CPU! lol
Check out UNIFY by pluginguru if you want to play polyphonic monophonic synths.
interesting. have you also tried sending audio rate modulation into plugins (e.g. using an oscillator from hive or serum to modulate phase or frequency in diva). i suppose you would get artifacts because the plugins don't expect audio rate modulation there but if it worked the possibilities would really be endless.
Not so much artifacts but there's an inherent smoothing of the control data... I did try plugging an oscillator into a cc convertor. Goes pretty fast but it's not accurate. Better suited to slower changes but still an awesome feature.
Softube Modular is excellent and outstanding in the quality.. but the CPU usage is heavy... so I looking for an alternative. Would you prefer Voltage Modular over Softube Modular?
Hard to say which I prefer... Voltage I love for the midi modules, sequencer, ease of patching etc.... SOund from the softube is amazing though. They're unfortunately both quite heavy on CPU, such is the nature of virtual modulars. I'd suggest you grab the free version of Voltage and spend some time with it before making a decision.
I can understand that now! I have installed Voltage Modular... I get there faster than with Softube, because of the much better interface. Rearranging, duplicating etc. works really well with VM. I tested the Vintage Oscillator, the Juno Filter and some standard modules... I can't hear a very big difference in the sound compared to Softube. The resource consumption is even slightly lower with comparable modules in VM (both VST3 versions). It's really not easy ;)
@@devarni you can't really go wrong with either... another plus with VM is is cheaper too.
@@MarulaMusic I have to add that I don't use the modular synth for any crazy and squawking noises, for me it's more a very flexible synth that ultimately has to sound interesting and good and also usable in a song.
Yes, it's not expensive... the Core Bundle is about $69 and I think the Vintage Voice is quite interesting for $39.... if you want every module and bundle, of course, it will be more expensive, but that should be more than 1000 modules :D
I saw a video of one of the orchestral composers of CineSamples using Bidule (by Plogue company) as a plugin-host type of thing, they are hosting a bunch of Kontakts and what not inside Bidule, and they say it's the most CPU efficient off all of these plugin-host type of things, and Bidule has some nice MIDI modules too, I don't know if there are LFOs or Envelopes and such, so it might not be as flexible as a modulator-station(?) compared to Voltage Modular, but if CPU efficiency is your priority when doing plugin-hosting, then Bidule might be one of the best choices.
