    If you enjoyed this video, you will love The One Plant Everyone Should Own!
    ua-cam.com/video/jnMh62IPJfg/v-deo.html . It doesn’t get much better than a Truncata! I couldn’t find a video that covered it all so I made it!

    Such a great video!!!!! Many growers won’t tell you or you have to do a lot of digging to find that care changes as the plant matures. I found that seedlings are more resilient to being too wet. I set back one of my truncatas because I didn’t change my watering when it got older. Now I know that care changes with the plant. It’s so great to see a video talk about cars through the life of the plant rather than just the adults or xsm

      Yay!!! I am glad you enjoyed it! Yeah I try to think through what pain points I have had as a grower and being that to everyone to make for a better experience! I am thankful that this was able to help on that!!

    Wow I didn't know that's how you could tell from juvenile pitchers to mature pitchers. I'm gonna check my plants when I get home 😂. Thank you for the information!

    Good info as usual.. How much estimated time period from plant 1 to plant 3? What is your feeding routine?

      Hey!! It depends on the Truncata. It is definitely a slower growing plant. I would say the Titan hybrid is about 2 years old in my care here. However there are hybrids like JB x Pasian that I have that are way faster. I am going to be doing an update video for my next video and the difference is crazy! Honestly I feed them sparingly because I want them to grow slower until I can get more room. I feed them about once every 2 months

      @@Carnivorousplanthelp I'd like for you to do a feeding video of Drosera Spatulatas and Capensis and your techniques Binata and any others I can't think of. Many new plant owners get confused as most of us on all this information Good and Bad.. I personally have viewed many (some from even bigtime growers)and needless to say some of them have conflicting information as can be expected. There is no exact science to this hobby of ours.. But sharing info is invaluable, leaving the decisions up to the plant owner for final anaylsis.. Your D Man!!!

      Of course! I will put that at the top of the list! I’ve got one video that I am working on but will do that one next! Great insight!

    I'm planning to grow it in sphagnum/perlite/coconut chips 33/33/33 and 80-90% humidity. Do you think it will work? Or is it too humid? Or is the substrate wrong?

    • @Carnivorousplanthelp
      @Carnivorousplanthelp  4 місяці тому +1

      Hey!! I think that will work just make sure you soak the chips to remove any salts that are in it prior to using it. That should give plenty of airflow.

    Hi
    Is it possible to grow nepenthes truncata with bicalcarata? Bicals need very high humidity and truncatas not that much I guess.

      Umm yeah they should do just fine together. I find that Truncata can handle a huge range of conditions.

    I got my medium JB by Pasian from Carnivero. Looks fantastic and the pitchers are filling up with gnats that it caught. What's weird is the listing for this plant was removed from their site, can't seem to find it.

      That is awesome to hear!! I am glad to see it growing for you!!!! Hmmm, that is weird. They do that sometimes from time to time. It might mean they are going to offer it as a sales item soon; I have seen that… keep an eye out!!!

    Just returned to this clip. My seed (N. truncata [(d) "Red Flush" x (d) "Wide Peristome"], Carnivero) are germinating. So now I have to keep them alive ;-)

    How many years did it take to go from smallest to largest?

    • @Carnivorousplanthelp
      @Carnivorousplanthelp  4 місяці тому

      I have found them to be much faster than what people say. However it depends. I have Hiroshima clone that took at least 2 years to get any size. The JB x Pasian has proven to be a very fast grower. I am going to do an update video on my next video. They are very big now!

    Did you just say 6 feet tall flower stalks?!

    • @Carnivorousplanthelp
      @Carnivorousplanthelp  11 місяців тому

      Hey! Yeah they can get very tall flower stalks. Rob is by far the longest. Most carnivorous plants will produce very long flower stalks relative to their size. This is an effort to keep pollinators away from their traps. Truncata is known for very long stalks as well. Not all nepenthes get extremely long stalks but Truncata is one that does for sure. The inflorescence isn’t the entire length though. It is a lot of stalk and the inflorescence is about the last third of it.
