    The Chosen is a groundbreaking Bible show based on the life of Jesus Christ (Jonathan Roumie), seen through the eyes of those who knew him. Set against the backdrop of Roman oppression in first-century Israel, the seven-season show shares an authentic and intimate look at Jesus’ revolutionary life and teachings.
    Clashing kingdoms. Rival rulers. The enemies of Jesus close in while His followers struggle to keep up, leaving Him to carry the burden alone. Threatened by the reality of Jesus’ growing influence, religious leaders do the unthinkable-ally with their Roman oppressors. As the seeds of betrayal are planted and opposition to Jesus’ message turns violent, He’s left with no alternative but demand his followers RISE UP.

    I LOVE what you said around the 6 minute mark, where you started watching the show as a historical drama set in the 1st century like you would other shows. As much as we love encouraging people to read scripture after watching the show, we DO want people to watch the show like they do a normal show and not just see it as a Bible re-enactment where we just fill time until the next Bible story.

      Hi Dallas. Thanks for Following the Chosen as it follows The Chosen. Great to have you aboard. Appreciate that you took the time to join our chat and you also let us know about the reflection that jumped out to you. Without trying to critique your comment - heh - one of the things I value about The Chosen is how it is not just a TV show set in the 1st Century. Rather (and at the risk of telling you what you already know about your own show!) it's a TV show set in the 1st Century that wants to bring the Bible to the world via the artistry of modern screen storytelling. Both things, at once. On its own artistic merits, we can appreciate The Chosen as a well composed and considered show about certain characters, plot threads and themes common to humanity. But we also can appreciate how your Bible "re-enactment" is a sincere sharing of Scripture via our screens. You are evidently not just filling time until the next Bible story arrives. You are using long-form television to depict and declare the earthly journey of Jesus, inescapably linked with the people, politics and profundity involved. Hats off. PS: Feel free to swing by the Following the Chosen set any time. We're a welcoming bunch, Laura and I (and Christian and Derrick, our awesome tech team)

    This was my 2nd favorite episode of the 3 I saw in theaters here in the U.S. I loved the way John's story was interwoven together from the beginning to the end. Right before he was about to be killed, I absolutely loved the scene with John looking out the window at a green pasture and a lamb(possibly symbolizing his comment from Scripture referring the the Lamb of God).

      I also noticed that lamb out the window and while I'm not the biggest fan of injecting dreams or "visions" which aren't mentioned in Scripture... I did appreciate the nod to the Lamb of God. It was a considered nod to who John prepared the way for and his knowledge that the Lamb of God had arrived in the form of Jesus. And what was your favourite episode out of 1,2 and 3 of Season 4? And why? What stood out?

      @@TheBenmceachen I think episode 2 was my favorite. Simon's name was changed to Peter and he actually was called to act upon that. I loved the connection to the 70 times 7 story when Peter talked with Jesus about forgiving Matthew. It was an awesome tie-in. I was predicting a scene where he actually forgave him, but I didn't know it would come so soon in the season! I was crying so many happy tears.

      @@abbykittle5058 Congratulations. You just did a terrific job of writing a teaser trailer for our next episode of Following the Chosen. Laura and I were struck by many of the things you raised and, yes, we also thought Episode 2 stood out more than Episode 1 (not that it's a competition). Stay tuned for that Following the Chosen discussion. It's coming real soon. But since we recorded, I have seen some interesting comments about Simon Peter always being called Simon Peter and Jesus was adding a distinct meaning to his existing "Peter" when Scripture records the "upon this rock..." exchange. Something I'm going to have to take a closer look at

    I was so impacted when John was about to be beheaded and he saw the lamb. Jesus told them he would be with them and there was the lamb and John was at peace.

    We were all expecting John's death and the Chosen did a good job with it. The end of episode 3 was unexpected and left the theater silent, for sure with a lot of crying mixed on. Episode 4 should be a good one dealing with what happened at the end of episode three.

      I was getting teary at the end of Episode 2. OK, so I don't want spoilers but, you know, can you share any general details about why Episode 3 had such an impact upon you. Super curious

      i must say the ending music as the credits rolled was spot on. It had the discomforting tone...really kinda grating. But as with many other comments I've seen, no one spoke afterwards and it took a while before anyone actually moved. As a scene, it was perfectly executed...sound...visuals... great job. Tough scene....great job.

    Very important to honour our prophet John The Baptist ❤ I'm really looking forward to seeing the dance that sealed his fate☹. I love the movie Jesus of Nazareth but always thought the dance could have been more creative. I'm looking forward to it. Big shout to Sons of Thunder xx Love from Bonnie Scotland.

    I wanna know why they had Ramah die by sword and not some other way. I mean I get why she had to die... they have to create a doubting Thomas. So will she come back? Jesus says it's not her time to come back🤷‍♀️

      Why, why, why did you do this?Clearly, from their comments, they have not seen episode 3. The other countries are only getting episodes 1 and 2. Only we in the US are getting it. Now you've spoiled it for so many people. If you must comment, at least put spoiler alert warnings before posting.

    • @TheBenmceachen
      @TheBenmceachen 3 місяці тому +1

      @@bethscott8027 Yeah it is helpful to everyone here if we put a SPOILER warning on anything that is heading in that territory. It is understandable here to discuss specific elements of Season 4 Episode 1 because the assumption is that we all have seen it. And it also is OK to assume knowledge of what has come before in The Chosen. But when commenting about future episodes, please add SPOILER warning or try to be euphemistic. Thanks a lot, Ben and Laura
