The reason youve never done the missing apprentices quest is its from Cutting Floor mod. The mod that adds cut quests, fun tip: its broken and has been known to glitch some peoples games out from time to time
Another fun fact about waterwalking: it is in base game! Well dlc... In dragonborn theres a stalhrim set that gives waterwalking on one of the pieces
It's Azhidaal's set, not a stalhrim set, and it has a unique appearance (though it looks similar to an ancient nord set), but that seems like an easy detail to miss if you don't use it regularly. Wearing any four pieces of the set together also grants +10 enchanting, so it is possible to have level 110 enchanting. One of the rings gives you the most powerful spell in the game if you have the right perks. And the mask makes fire spells deal 25% more damage, as well as increasing your fire resistance by 50%. There's a lot of other stuff that various pieces of the set do, but Azhidaal's set is just overall really cool. There's a helmet, a mask, a chestplate, gauntlets, boots, and two rings.

The male hairdo mod you have makes all the npcs look like they are in 1950's boy bands and it is terrible.

@@whiteoe Not bad mods if that's what you're looking for, but if you're looking for the "rugged mountain men" look, your options are limited. It's almost as much of a crisis as the ENBs, which tend to do much the same thing, prettying things up and brightening colors at the cost of the "cold and snowy" atmosphere.

Thundercrack is actually really good if you dual cast it and have the perk that stuns enemies when you dual cast a spell

If you didn't know already, you can set hotkeys to the favorites menu so you don't have to open it each time to change the spells! You can set them to 1-0 and then just press the number to switch to it.

9:45 ITS A CLOSE. RANGE. SPELL. :V it's basically a heavy attack in a lightning spell.
aaaand yep, ok, you figured it out. yep, it's quite spicy. costly without ordinator perks making it a bit easier, but spicy. I always try to have something melee capable equipped though when doing magic in fights, cause lot of enemies do just run up to you. if you're still playing, "smart cast" mod's quick cast rings and the spells "backlash" (stuns mages and casts their offensive spell at themselves if it hits them when they're charging) and disorient (periodic heavy staggers over several seconds) are super good for defensive. disorient is just strong vs fighters, and backlash able to be casted speedily without it equipped from the menu makes it borderline busted provided you keep your trigger finger on the Q key to open favorite menu and hit the quickcast ring to shoot it at a split second's notice when you see a mage charging up or channeling something at you.
also, Ocato's Recital, also probably from apoc, lets you insta-cast 3 defensive spells for free that are set into it when combat gets initiated. and spell twist lets you turn defensive buffs into offensive debuffs against foes. :D

You could technically make this a Wabbajack modlist, it's an autoinstaller that is getting quite popular, you should check it out! It's made by Halgari.
Maybe after 3 deaths do dnd style death saving throws to decide if you restart or not. If you succeed you get 3 more lives

I did a play through as a mage and used almost exclusively live coals from the lost grimoire mod in my left hand that you cast on a target and then if you hit them with a fire spell it explodes for extra damage. What made it so fun was that it could stack so you could hit someone with the spell 20 times and then hit them with firebolt and they would instantly die and explode so much that it would fill the screen with light so I couldn't see at times there were so many explosions. also octavo's recital, which casts three non concentration spells for free whenever you enter combat, with ironflesh(or best one i had at the time), divine aegis, and lightning cloak and then also spell twine which adds affects to three spells so i would give live coals make my spells cost 5% less for 5 seconds and then whatever fire spells i had in my right hand heal me a bit. Focus on getting a ginormous pool of magicka with incredible regen and then just spam both hands and watch my enemies explode in front of my until i went blind
