There is no such thing as a bad time to visit Shetland. One of the best memories I'll ever have was walking with my wife in a downpour up the boardwalk at Hermaness to get a glimpse of Muckle Flugga. When we arrived at the cliff edge, the clouds parted. We were bathed in beautiful golden light and a rainbow framed the lighthouse. Mother Nature has never taken my breath away like she has in Shetland.
I visited two years ago Orkney Islands. I was really impressed, quietness, landscapes, cliffs, and a sense of peace in your heart. Your video is amazing, and I wish to be in Shetland, sometime, somehow, in the near future. Some of the images of your video about Shetland, believe it, made me cry
Endorse everything said in this video, but one thing not mentioned is the 70mph winds, which is cause of the Shetland trait of always walking at 45 degrees to the ground 🥴🥴🥴

Having lived in Shetland for 10 years (1970s/80s), I can fully endorse what Simon Parker says about these amazing islands.
What made you leave
Thanks Barney.
Fantastic photography. The waves pounding high onto the towering cliffs is nature's high drama. Love it! Thanks for posting.

I thought it was a joke...a place called "Shetland"
☠️
No not a joke. The wife & I went once to be able to say. Been there, done that.
We have returned. 23 times.
Wait until you hear about an old english kingdom called Wessex or the kingdom of Sussex lol
