Stayed in the lerwick hotel just before the pandemic kicked off. Shetland is our new best place in the world. We just jumped on the local buses, you get more feel for a place doing that. Every corner you went round opened up a new vista. Stunning, wild, pure air, miles of open space and the local people make this place magnificent. If you want sun and beach life, which i have done, then dont come here. If you want a change then you will love shetland

Nice video and so good to see someone promoting our true Norse roots.
The cafe you went to is Fjara but it's pronounced "F-y-a-r-a". It's the Nordic way of saying the letter J.
As a Shetlander, I come from a man on Unst called Hendrich Hendrichsson in 1472.

I think it's actually pronounced Fjaro but who knows the Danish/Norwegian alphabet in shetland lmao

Well, the Shetland Council has tabled a resolution that should ever the Scots become independent, they're having none of it.!!
And steps have been taken to counteract any such possibility.
I won't go into it all here, because - how long have you got ?
You can always get an historical record of such developments on line, a lot of which you probably already know.

If you want to sound more "Scandi" try going metric.

I'm not personally worried about sounding Scandi haha, I use both metric and imperial like most people in the UK

It sounds like someone asked a local what's the name of this place. He responded it's Shitland- then the guy checked with him Shetland? He said, Aye
