I lived in Atlanta for over 50 years but was only in this house once back in the 80's, now that I'm in my 60's I can really enjoy the beauty of this home.
Thank you for watching and for your comments.

I’ve known this house for over 50 years I visited Atlanta in the 1970s. I first saw her she was in rough shape then very neglected. Subsequently I’ve seen her over. The decades was always sad that she wasn’t loved odd that it was an antique dealer who owned the building? I saw her last in 1991 . I’ve always thought she was more Romanesque than Queen Anne hopefully someone will realise the value of this unusual building in Atlanta. Thank you so much for the video.

Thank you for the tour of this beautiful old house. The staircase and woodwork are just stunning! When you started the video by panning the exterior and I saw the blue tarps on the roof I thought the interior would be worse than it is, hopefully it will be repaired before further damage is done. Very interesting to see the old whiskey bottles.

These transitional Late Victorian homes are interesting with their simpler lines and Art Nouveau influences in the carvings and art glass. As an old house person, it's always a thrill to see so much unpainted wood. Plus, tiger oak on the downstairs mantel, and what a gorgeous staircase! I'm curious about the floors; in Georgia, maybe they are heart pine, but the surface looks flat grey. Makes me wonder whether the finished flooring was removed, it's just obscured by plaster dust, or perhaps most of the floors were covered with carpet/floor cloths when the house was new, so lesser quality wood was used. Businesses could go from booming to bankrupt then, just like today, and design choices had to be changed when money ran out. I watch a lot of old house tours, and so often the owner with the grand plan passed away within a year or two of when (or even before) the house was completed. Since this property is in town, it seems even more vital that it be restored. It was fun to see the whiskey bottles from his brand. Thanks for including them with the backstory. :)
Glad you liked it. I love going through these old homes they have such warmth a character with the ornate door knobs, stain glass and amazing would work. Thank you for watching and for sharing.
Wow, Wow, What a Beauty. The woodwork alone, adding fireplaces, stain glass, Now that's elegant. At 5:30 wonder if board is to protect glass & at 9:46, uh, oh, ceiling start to come down. Yeah, on Nat'l. Register.......

This house screams Victorian, in every way, especially the Queen Anne style that I love. The ornate wood work is spectacular and the fireplaces are gorgeous and surprisingly still intact. The center piece of this house is the stair case bet she was grand back in her glory days. Thank you for bringing this house into the light and the wonderful peek inside. Do you know if there are plans to restore her. I hope she finds people that will love and care for her. ❤❤❤
It was purchased in 2021 with plans to restore but so far the inside was cleaned up, boards added to the windows, door and a fence around the house. It happens a lot, good intentions at the start but never completed. Thank you for watching and for your comments.
As a teen in the late 70's, my mother was gravely ill at Crawford Long Hospital. She had to have someone with her at all times. I remember being awaken by staff and had to wait until they were finished before I could return. Many nights somewhere between three and four AM, I would look out upon the windows at the Rose House. It was so beautiful and could imagine the life that went on inside the house. I had the chance to see the inside when it was an antiques shop, but it was already crumbling. I think that it is a crime that Atlanta has done nothing to preserve. (Really terrible mayors since that time.) History being destroyed.
Thank you for sharing, it is sad that it is just stuck in a time of decay. Thank you for watching.
What a beautiful building. Why cant these places be respected for what they are, and maintained for their beauty, architectural,
and historical significance. So many only want Wayfair gray!

The Historic Registry is getting lazy these days doesn’t matter where in the world they are in….such a sad thing to see that these historic places are just left to rot and fall apart and even vandalized. Maybe the organization needs to fire all who keep it running and hire people (like myself) that would actually see through to restore these beautiful places and make them museums like they should be made to be ❤
