Nick's Strength and Power Thanks man I really enjoy your content And its getting better, as you now have 10× the subscribers you had when i first arrived
The worst idea at the Olympia was to give the title to guys that look pregnant instead of letting them go to hospital to let them have their child first
I watched it recently in 2004 Olympia. it was awful and they gave all the abs and tighs pose to Ronnie. Dexter had the best abs and tighs pose, it was ridicously good. Everybody were BOO-ing when they gave the front poses to Coleman.
GoldenEra 4ever - Real talk dude. They don't look aesthetic, they don't look athletic, they don't look truly well balanced, they don't even look manly. I think the 212 class far outshines it. Thing is, they risk their lives and well being to blow themselves up and look fucking ridiculous.
Nick, I agree on the vacuum pose needing added into the Olympia as a mandatory pose! That would eventually take away bubble gut scenario from being seen in future Olympia's! I think it looks bad & needs to be gotten under control now!
With Triple H hosting, he should have just passed Cutler a steel chair after Ronnie stole the title from him. A chair shot heel turn from Cutler could have turned this into the BEST Olympia ever.
Hey nick, love your vids. I haven't seen anyone talking about the background at olympia 17. I thought it was terrible and made it hard to see the bodies. I love earlier olympias like 2009. I feel like a 2017 backdrop would have ruined Cutlers famous 2009 quad stomp picture. What do you think? I would love olympia 2018 to have a one tone dark backdrop with good lighting on the bodies. Thanks :)
in essence the challenge round was a cool idea. but that's where it ends, at just being a cool idea. it was executed to the best they could but the picking your poses really just gives a huge edge to the pose picker.
I remember Jay cutler at that Olympia telling the reporter that the challenge rounds should be scraped. He hated the idea. I don't have a problem with the concept of it though, its just needs some fine tuning.
Including the vacuum pose for serious points is going to sink more than a few ships, because the weight the competitors have carried for so many years - has distended their skin, making it virtually impossible for them to come in dry-hard, ripped, and vascular - at a lower weight. I think the powers that be - will drag their feet for a few more years, allowing only "controlled guts" to take the top spots. There's simply too much mileage in posterity and overall fan excitement in seeing someone win the Olympia ten times - to even risk derailing it this way.
they really should throw this back in there yes throw the vacuum hose you're right Nick that would be awesome give them an actual bonus package and they can pull it off and a huge margin of points damn good video buddy
I liked the challenge round, It was a bit of fun. But it still think make the bubble gut a mandatory part of posing. Front double bubble gut, side bubble gut, bubble gut and thighs, front leg spread, rear glute spread and most bubble gutular.
The fact that they don't judge the posing round at the Olympia mind boggles me. It's the super bowl of bodybuilding..posing routines should be worth a lot of points too
Maybe they should give each top 5 an opportunity to choose a pose, then if the person who chooses it wins the pose they get 2 points, if someone else wins then 1 - so there is a benefit for them winning their strength
Nick, the vacuum pose idea is a good one. But, politics will be in play if they did it. Right now, I would take a guess that of the 16-18 guys at the O. Only 2-3 can do it decently if at all. In the top say 6-10 maybe 2. The 2 are Bonac if he doesn't come in watery seeing he has a bit in the past then dries out. When he starts watery I don't think his version of the pose would look good (compared to the Arnold era version) yet he could still do it. The other guy is Cedric, I have seen him do it decently and seeing he all but has taylored his body as a throw back to the Golden era. IF he comes in condition he can do it decent to very well. Now, here is why I said politics would be in play. I can name 3 of the top 6 that could do the pose, but it would look strange. Because they did do it however...they would still place over the others who did do it pretty well. When his gut is in control, Phil can do the pose. Will it look right, no, but...he did do it. Meaning the judges would still place him over the others on the pose...even if it wasn't as good. They would have to include you have to do the pose and hold it for say a 10 second count. Then go right to an and thigh. And they would be the first two poses. That way, you see the vacuum pose and it is held. Then transition straight to abs and thigh, meaning any bubble gut would have to be controlled for 2 straight poses. If the competitor relaxed and had a gut, it would be unable to be hidden from any judge or fan. And then you move into the other poses. 2 key poses that could easily show a clear gut would be first, no way to hide it in the vacuum pose or the transition to abs and thighs. You couldn't prep for it, and guts aren't hidden in both. You could go further, but minus the AC I don't think they would have ONLY those 2 poses as a "marker". Meaning everyone does both, then they do call outs and mandatory poses. Making those 2 poses the FIRST anyone sees. I love the idea, but it still needs tweeking. I think if you and Lui talked and posted a colab video on the vacuum pose idea...the IFBB might think about it. They started knocking guts after Lui made multiple videos about it. But, this year almost the whole top 10 had a slight gut. So, it needs addressed more, but with Lui and yourself...they might listen more. Hope it happens, would be very interesting to see.
I think that the size of your gut should take away a percentage from your scores on other body parts. Like someone with a massive bubble gut might have bigger arms than someone but their score for arms would be reduced because of the growth hormone they used to get them that big. So have a slim mid section would mean none of your scores would get reduced as you have not been taking GH, or at least not as much.
The worst idea for me , is to let someone with weak legs win or bubble guts, i mean this is BODYBUILDING right? bodybuilding is all about that LOOK , so you got to have everything to win , NOT just some u know just my 2 cents
DL_000 But it has nothing to do with bodybuilding. It's more like a contortionist act. A terribly skinny man could beat a heavyweight bodybuilder in a vacuum pose, so what's the point?
A good idea would be to do away with that stupid, distracting screen at the Olympia nowadays. Bring back the black background with maybe just the olympia letters. The shots looks so much cleaner and better lit without a screen in the back
Markus Rühl recently said in an interview that he thinks, that the challenge round was very innovative and they should bring it back. He also said that the men's open bodybuilding class is dying because it's lacking innovation. That just watching those huge bodybuilders posing is not as interesting as watching an other sport such as football or boxing. Just wanted to share his point of view with you guys cause the interview is in german.
I know he says that the challenge round is a terrible idea but I think that this is an interesting idea and it kind of adds some strategy into bodybuilding exposing the other guys weaknesses and I like it
Hitting a vacuum as a mandatory is a good idea but I don't think it can happen simply because it's a genetics kind of thing, you rather have it or you don't and that's what Steve Weinberg says. So genetically it puts some body builders at a disadvantage
I’m not a fan of your mandatory vacuum pose requirement. If these guys are developing bubble guts, then they need to find ways to increase the size of every other body party look symmetrical.
Agreed, worst idea ever. They were most likely trying to create more excitement and drama. I was in the audience at both the 2004 and 2005 Olympias and it did just that. Still a bad idea though. After all the complaints of this years extended midsections, anyone with size that can pull off a legit vacuum pose will have a good chance of upsetting the status quo.
It was funny seeing everyone challenge Ronnie to ab+thigh and losing (except Jay). Ronnie's ab+thigh was damn strong despite genetically ugly abs and an occasional large gut. For example, someone like Dexter has more appealing abs to many, but every other part of the physique trails Ronnie significantly. Also, I always thought Jay hit poses worse than Ronnie, particularly his back lat spread and side chest. Ronnie's posture and however he is flexing makes certain poses look much more impressive. Jay noticeably "hunches" in rear lat spread for instance.
Also, I feel that the last round, free posing is also a bad idea. Body builders keep pushing one another., each will hit a non synchronised pose for a couple of seconds. Neither the judges nor the viewers can make anything out of it. In the 80s, it used to be civilised, nobody ventured out in each others place..they posed at will. But in 2000s, Ronnie dexter cutler kept pushing each other n it was a big mess. This has stopped now I think, maybe nick can do a video about this?
Its good to be here again in the comments section nick,
Btw this week was nice. Very nice videos uploaded
I'm happy to have you back bro. In fact, I'll pin you! Thanks for watching bro!
Nick's Strength and Power See, that's why I think you're the man: you reach out to people, which is so amazing to see!👍👍

Who is closest to their due date
Who has the fullness and roundness to their belly? "Next face front and give us a a front gut spread".
Coleman had the worst gut ever. It's not a new thing.
The worst idea in the Olympia was to not have me guest-pose
JR: 'Bah gawwd it's the Gamee!!! It's Triple H, the cerebral assassin , he's back !! '
But where is the Shovel??
lmao
Interesting how someone can win the challenge round but not win the Olympia title. This just reaffirms how messed up the judging is.
Among many other terrible judging ideas
Too bad they didn't have the challenge round when Franco beat Tom Platz.
That would've been hilarious!
All leg poses lol
Nick's Strength and Power And most likely a new Mr. Olyimpia!
They'll never make the vacuum pose mandatory because they know these bloated, exaggerated caricatures of a bodybuilder can't do it.
Could triple H have been a bodybuilder video
DaDonBossMan nearly every pro wrestler could of been...
He was a teen bodybuilder..
Coming soon ;)
I’ve been working on building my nose to look like his for years
Nick's Strength and Power do one on Randy orton, he had great genetics and muscle insertions etc especially in 2003 his physique was aesthetic as fuck
More evidence IFBB judging is horrible and subjective
Same with boxing and its been around since forver, every big fight is a let down with some bullshit decision
Nick, I agree on the vacuum pose needing added into the Olympia as a mandatory pose! That would eventually take away bubble gut scenario from being seen in future Olympia's! I think it looks bad & needs to be gotten under control now!
Last time I came this early nick was born...
Last time I came this early was watching Hedge bench press
Last time I came this early I had a gf
Wheres my fleshlight
I never knew about this, awesome of you for bringing it up! Quality content as usual Nick
"If you don't have it don't hit it." -Arnold
Jay Cutler should have won even with the challenge round. His back was thicker than Ronnies and had much more detail, even in the Rhomboids.
Keep up with the bodybuilding history!!!! I'm gonna be a bodybuilding encyclopedia once I'm done watching your vids!!! Great work bro!!!!!!
Nick's Strength and Power this channel has really helped me to get good knowledge about bodybuilding world
With Triple H hosting, he should have just passed Cutler a steel chair after Ronnie stole the title from him. A chair shot heel turn from Cutler could have turned this into the BEST Olympia ever.
Can u make a tips video for increasing your strict curl?
They need to bring back HHH as the host
Love ur channel , but whats the deal with Kenny K.O. ? Like y did u block him
Someone needs to make little chocolate body builders that we can give our loved ones for Christmas.
Could jason genova have been a bodybuilder?

When I came this early, my girlfriend dumped me.
I love logical jokes
I always wanted Gunter to win.
josh bentley83 he will always not be winning
Honestly, I did not know about this.
I'm here to educate you bro ;)
Bit late..but I'm here
It's the thought that counts
whats your response to kenny k.o's new vid?
in essence the challenge round was a cool idea. but that's where it ends, at just being a cool idea. it was executed to the best they could but the picking your poses really just gives a huge edge to the pose picker.
I'm almost 20 an it took me fifteen minutes of looking at the thumbnail to realize that was triple H
sounds cool to me having to be aware of where you excel past the others and where you lack
Bubble gut challenge-- next idea. Bring it on.
I remember Jay cutler at that Olympia telling the reporter that the challenge rounds should be scraped. He hated the idea. I don't have a problem with the concept of it though, its just needs some fine tuning.

WE AS A PEOPLE HAVE THE POWER TO INFLUENCE!
Just like Snap said - I'VE GOT THE POWER
Hey nick this is kind of random but I was just watching your video on the truth about natural bodybuilding and I was wondering how tall are you?
The worst thing at the Olympia is allowing these nasty mass monsters win
I liked the challenge round, It was a bit of fun. But it still think make the bubble gut a mandatory part of posing. Front double bubble gut, side bubble gut, bubble gut and thighs, front leg spread, rear glute spread and most bubble gutular.

The Worst Idea At The Olympia is Looking Like A Meatball With a Stomach Tumor.
You can't turn a bubble gut to a vacuum because it's physically impossible
Maybe they should give each top 5 an opportunity to choose a pose, then if the person who chooses it wins the pose they get 2 points, if someone else wins then 1 - so there is a benefit for them winning their strength
I agree. I would love to see the vacuum pose return, but it'll never happen.
Good idea to have a one on one challenge round but have to do all of the manditory poses. Not just certain ones. Plus bring back the vacuum pose.
Can you do a bodybuilding video on the road warriors?
Nick, the vacuum pose idea is a good one. But, politics will be in play if they did it. Right now, I would take a guess that of the 16-18 guys at the O. Only 2-3 can do it decently if at all. That's not right nick, in 2004, Ronnie was ahead of jay before the challenge round if you go back and watch.
You are wront buddy, without the challenge round jay wouldn't get ahead of ronnie
Nick's Posing and Flexing
Nick's health and fitness
I absolutely think posing should count in the Olympia because it was such a staple in the Golden Era.
I remember that " Lights out back last spread"
Yes, vacuum pose should be mandatory. Such a small, simple change would have a huge influence in the future of bodybuilding.
DL_000 But it has nothing to do with bodybuilding. It's more like a contortionist act. A terribly skinny man could beat a heavyweight bodybuilder in a vacuum pose, so what's the point?
Wers mcmahon?
Nick, i totally agree with the vacuum pose on olympia, but i thing bg guys can also do it though.
We got to figure out some other solution.
Post the Points at all times, mandatory vacuum, and change the judges at the Mr. O.
Best idea - whenever you see bubble gut in Mr Olympia instant disqualify, then hedge can single handed win the show.
A good idea would be to do away with that stupid, distracting screen at the Olympia nowadays. Bring back the black background with maybe just the olympia letters. The shots looks so much cleaner and better lit without a screen in the back
A challenge round would be awesome! I doubt we would see long stretches of the same man winning the Olympia in multiple consecutive years.
Nicks comments section is like the malt shop were all just chillin
man looking at those pics it is just soooo hard to beleive that Jay lost that one!!! he was so much harder looking and had such better lines and cuts.
Lat, Delt, Lights out. I remember that challenge
Markus Rühl recently said in an interview that he thinks, that the challenge round was very innovative and they should bring it back.

Just wanted to share his point of view with you guys cause the interview is in german.
I don't remember this. I recall losing interest in BB at this time because of the out of control bubble guts. 100x worse than recent years.
I know he says that the challenge round is a terrible idea but I think that this is an interesting idea and it kind of adds some strategy into bodybuilding exposing the other guys weaknesses and I like it
They need to have a bubble gut pose down challenge round!
HHH looks like he waiting for his DWI case to be heard.
Hitting a vacuum as a mandatory is a good idea but I don't think it can happen simply because it's a genetics kind of thing, you rather have it or you don't and that's what Steve Weinberg says. So genetically it puts some body builders at a disadvantage
I don’t understand these short guys winning a competition based solely on looks. I know they can’t help it, but nobody wants to look like a short guy.
YES to mandatory vacuum pose.
@0:46 look at how Coleman's Quads dwarf Gustavo's. The Unbelievable mass of Coleman, He was in his own weight class.
True...the "challenger round " was the first bad idea on all time...the second bad idea it was the Over40 MrOlympia !
Vince should offer HHH a WWE contract
LMFAO! The 'Challenge' round.... When Gustavo Badell single handed, went from 10th to 3rd. What a joke!
I’m not a fan of your mandatory vacuum pose requirement. If these guys are developing bubble guts, then they need to find ways to increase the size of every other body party look symmetrical.
it's a pretty cool idea imo, especially if people start hitting vacuums
Agreed, worst idea ever. They were most likely trying to create more excitement and drama. I was in the audience at both the 2004 and 2005 Olympias and it did just that. Still a bad idea though. After all the complaints of this years extended midsections, anyone with size that can pull off a legit vacuum pose will have a good chance of upsetting the status quo.
They should have a bubble gut challenge
I don't care for anything where one guy can take advantage of their strengths against their opponents with such ease... no honour.

Probably because he did pretty well in it

Nick, great idea to make the *Vacuum pose* mandatory! The era of the pregnant bodybuilder needs to come to an abrupt end!
Jay Cutler was the John Cena of bodybuilding. Miss his era.
when you're gonna make a video about Yoel Romero(an elite MMA fighter and Olympic medalist)
Shoulda brought it back when Kai was still there
It's all about the vacuum if it's ever going to get righted.
,can we get a video on what could have caused Ronnie Coleman's ab separation
I liked the challenge rounds tbh
cutler looked so good back in time..
