Yep, I had a taxi driver tell me it would cost 2,000p to go about 3km to my hotel. I laughed and said "Sir, I've lived here since 2016. I'm only here for the day before I fly back to Shanghai. I know the rates." It ended up being 250p.

Good videos very helpful. Thank you for the videos.
You’re welcome Colin 🫡
Simple and no fluff - thanks!
No problem bro. 🫡
We got an international plan for our phone so it would work internationally without daily fees. When we got back to America we tried to cancel the international plan and they discovered that our main phone plans expired years ago so they jacked up our prices haha.
Ok
Another great video 🎉 thanks.
Thank you
Thank you great video
Thank you
Good as gold advice, Jasper.

Appreciate your advice!
No problem I’ll be making more videos like this in the future
About the air BNB do they let you bring girls back.
Yes
Thank you sir
Yes sir
Wassup Room and Professor Jasper 👍👍👍
What’s up, brother
No, first what you have to do exchange no more than 50 USD for pesos, just to get f off the airport. Exchange rate is very bad there. Take all of them in smallest bills as possible.
That is incorrect and wrong about the small bills as well. Exchange rate at the airport is very competitive and small bills is not the move. Learn about the Philippines and start your channel baby boy before you start giving FALSE information in the comments section.
I’ve lived here 2 years and moved from Thailand. Your common sense directions are solid as you know hahaha. It astounds me there’s always a fool that knows better. Usually the ones that have never been out of their respective countries.

So what do u suggest jasper?? I think u should of mentioned on ur vid about the money exchanging. Love u content btw
Yeah, I would exchange like a few hundred dollars at the airport just they’ll be like three boots at any airport. Just find the one with the best exchange rate and exchange like $300 just so you have some walking around money and then you should be all good you’re right I left that out my bad.
If one is traveling international a lot one thing I found that has saved me a lot of time and hassle is having a phone service that is international. A bit more expensive than constantly buying local SIM, but saves a lot of hassle. I use GoogleFi, and it has worked well all over SE Asia. I keep my local # which helps if there are any banking or credit card companies I can call them using my American phone #. Texting, data no problem too.
Ok ok 👍
Great video!
The first thing you should do when you get off the plane is go see a lawyer! They will tell you everything you need to know!
Great idea
Grab Philippines acquired Uber in 2018 in exchange for 27.5% of equity. Basically Grab Philippines is partly owned by Uber. I recall everyone was always trying to book Uber and Grab either at the same time during rush hour when it was impossible to book, or outside rush hour to pick whichever was cheaper.
After the 'merger' prices surged
Stilll 5%-10% of Uber/lyft in usa
But ya I was aware of the “merger”
Only speaking from my experience, but none of my items went missing during my visit. And I carted my entire computer over there in my largest suitcase. Videocard could have easily went missing along with my power banks and body camera. All good.
Same here okra no issues in my multiple times flying in checked bags etc. hope you’re well
🎉
Live in five minutes walking
Yes the taxi drivers every where in the Phil's will try to rip off any foreigner that gets in their cab. I had a few problems with them.
Yes sir. They do it to Filipinos also that they think are “rich”
@@JasperinthePhilippinesThe government should regulate these shyster cab drivers.

TY ! How does the consultation work?
Just email me or send me a PayPal for $60 for a one hour phone call PayPal link and email link are in the above section and send me your WhatsApp
My first time in 2018 was funnelled by a charismatic well speaking gentleman to a really old guy with zero english in a flogged out white unmarked taxi. 1000p to ortegas. Second time 274p metered taxi. That first 1 was just the lesson i needed on what people call the skin tax.
Ok
To go along with what you’re saying I was hoping to have a female tour guide meet me that could basically help me do these things let’s say for the first week could you recommend such a service?
I don’t have that service.
I would not suggest hiring a guide. You may get targeted for a scam.
Just use your common sense. Most Filipinos are honest and helpful.
You don’t have to have all the answers before you land.
Just have a place to stay for 2-3 nights lined up before you land. Study Google maps and have an idea of the direction and distance where you are headed.
If I’m new to an area, I find an easy landmark (well known restaurant or big mall) near where I want to go. Then tell the Grab driver where you want to go, then say, it’s right near the (inset landmark name here) and act like you’ve been there before and know where you are going.
If you need to turn on the data on your home phone and pay the roaming charges for a day, that’s OK, it won’t break you.
When in a Grab or taxi, I’d suggest following along on Google Maps, so you know where you are and don’t get screwed by the driver.
You can book a 1 hour phone consultation with me. Email in my about section.
Just befriend someone on pinalove. They love to pick you up thinking they can lock you down for long-term. Just make sure you don't promise marriage and give them 'allowance' for services rendered as to avoid problems later. They can be vengeful if they feel wronged.
😂
What about wearing brand new Levi’s and a Steeler Jersey?
No prob.
You can use regular taxis if you know the prices.Ask in your Hotel or residence what the price to your destination is if you dont know.Change the money in the City not that much at the airport. Most ATM will not give you more than 20000 Pesos.
If you want to bring friends or girls into your Airbnb room,be sure that the residence allow that or get a permission from the owner.
All incorrect. All ATMS disperse 10000 and up. Airport has the same rate as the city for money exchange and taxis aren’t safe. Please come to this channel to learn and not teach grasshopper. 😂. Permission to have a girl over from the owner of your condo???? I’m dead 😂😂😂😂😂
Permission to bring girl back 😮 damn hope they give you pocket money as well as it takes me to being a teenager 😂😂
Unless you want them to record it for you 😂🎉
😂😂😂 sounds like renting a room with mom. All this commenters info is incorrect 😂😂😂😂
@@JasperinthePhilippines I was in different Condo Tower and if its not a cheap Charly one its always Guarded and they know who belong there.Id of the girl has to be show and register.
Lmfao. Is uptown Parksuites tower 2 cheap Charlie?? Let’s test your knowledge guppy 😂😂😂
I've heard that you should avoid flying into Manila if at all possible. That items go missing from luggage with alarming frequency there. Is there any truth to this? It is Filipina bloggers saying this, and they recommended arriving thru Cebu instead.
Mainly, you arrive in Manila anyway even if you move onto ⭐💫cebu I’ve had no issues with that but the manila airport isn’t that spectacular
Don’t put any valuables in your checked bag. Your checked bag should be a bunch of lightweight warm weather clothes, etc.
Hand carry your laptop, phone(s), etc.
You don’t need to bring much. Consider hand carrying a backpack and carry on and not checking a bag.
Facts
Has anyone ever been checked on the ridiculous cash requirement where you cannot take out more than P50k, I overlooked this as had to leave at short notice due to an emergency at home and had like P110k in cash, so had only P50k on me and the rest in my checked luggage which they opened but didnt see the cash as it has hidden in smaller bag. Anyone been checked for this being over P50k either going or coming? It says you "Need prior approval" for this, yea right, would have missed my flight and God knows how long that "Approval" would take, any experience on this I would appreciate to hear..
I brought about 9000$ usd no issues.
I brought 6k cnd, they didn't even ask to see it to confirm, which threw me off. The rest of my cheddar remains in USDT I had planned to use gcash and transfer to my account as needed.
US exchange rate, roughly 50:1, Canadian 40:1
You don’t even need the grab app . Manila and Cẽbu both have Grab booths and they take care of you on the spot .
You will need the app regardless. Also no app no driver name. No license plate. No alert if you stop too long.
@@JasperinthePhilippines they give it so to you at the booth . License plate , drivers name and all . The App certainly is well needed if one is planning to stay in PI for any length of time for sure .
You need the app. THEY ASK YOU ON YOUR PHONE IF YOURE OK IF IT STOPS do they print out a picture of the driver and license plate? 😂😂😂😂😂
@@JasperinthePhilippines I’ve been coming to PI for 25 years and have never had any problems . The grab app is handy but you need either an unlocked phone and sim as you said , or a 2nd phone .
Ok buddy. Please don’t tell people to go to the booth. Unless they print you out a piece of paper with the info. Download the app and haul that way it keeps you safe.
Awesome info. But can't decide between BGC and Makati. Is one better than the other?
I think I have videos comparing them if you’re single and you want a little cheaper price maybe Baddie if you have a girl or plan on getting a girl or you you have a big budget Bgc to break it down
IDK but someone said BGC is like Wallstreet and Makati is like Rodeo Drive...
@JasperinthePhilippines I'll check it out. Thank you. I'm 38 and single with a strong savings account plus a monthly income that puts me right under Philippines "Rich".
Nice
Book a consultation with me if you want me to break everything down top to bottom emails in the about section
I'm going to have a Globe & a Smart SIM [eBay] in my older [S22] Samsung Phone when I arrive. I'll get at least $100 changed to Pesos [Small Bills] in the US before I leave.
Great Ted 👍
Dollar bills have to be new design and good condition.
@@jeretso That's why I'll get Philippine Pesos in Portland, Oregon. I'll carry Minimal US Cash for Emergency use.
