Adrien Brody & Heath Ledger is one of the worlds greatest yet most under appreciated actors. Adrien’s role in The Pianist shows his greatness as well as his performance on Peaky Blinders and Heath’s The Joker leaves me with goosebumps every time I watch the movie. Definitely both in my top five of favourite actors / actresses.

You notice about the 6th season his accent became weird. We've been watching the reruns and they're played week nights so there's not a lot of time from the beginning of the series to the end. Watched the Pilot of SOA tonight right after watching the final episode. His accent deteriorated.
In my opinion The Dark Knight is brutaly overrated. While the Jokers performance is really good, the story is absolute shit. Example wanted: The Harvey Dent plot is ridiculous. He is the best and nicest guy you could ever meet. After that, the explosion happens and he turns into an unpredictable Killer-Maniac in like...one day...It is not even the best film in its own trilogy cause that has to be Batman Begins.
He's known as two-face before the accident because he's got this super nice guy front, but was a ruthless bastard of an investigator (not evil, but a dark and indomitable side that does not match his all-super nice charm). Before the explosion happens Harvey Dent is going around kidnapping and torturing mentally vulnerable people. He had a screw loose from the start. This mentally already deeply volatile guy with a known penchant for a darker side is mutilated while his girlfriend is horribly murdered, so he becomes a killer to take revenge on those he blames.
As far as Charlie Hunnam's accent goes, people also forget that he moved to the states at 18, so that combined with having roles in which he had to use another accent makes it understandable that his English accent would get lost.
While filming Serpico, Pacino was in a cab and saw a crime taking place outside. He jumped out of the cab to intervene before realizing that he was still in character and wasn't actually a cop.

If you’ve ever been on a movie set, especially a horror film where so much is fake, you would see how detached it is from real life. There are so many people there, there are also strict rules when working with children.

What makes you think they care about the children’s well-being, they probably don’t know their in a horror movie, they are more than likely being scared to death in real life to make it more realistic. Most children that are in horror movies arent actually part of the terrible things that happened in the movie they are just told to act scared or act a certain way and they have no idea how bad was happening in the movie really is. Child actors most of the time in horror movies or actually treated very well and never find out until they're older and watch the movie what they were doing

Ledger has this weird affectation of flicking his tongue like a snake in that role. It got on my nerves as I rewatched the film years later. I do agree that the dark world tone of the movie was more compelling than the cartoonish earlier versions.
I first saw Hugh Laurie in the WWI version of "Black Adder Goes Forth" with Rowan Atkinson and he was hilarious. The fact that Laurie can pull off an American accent was a big surprise to me, but at the same time it just proved that he has serious acting chops.
What about Linda Blair in the Exorcist. That movie almost did that poor girl in. River Phoenix. He never seemed the same after My Own Private Idaho. And Halle Barry For Monsters Ball. Despite the fact that she won the Oscar...she never seemed the same.

According to several people who knew him well, Heath Ledger (1979-2008) became ill (cold or even pneumonia + insomnia) because his role in "The Dark Knight". Shortly prior to his death Ledger told a friend: "Last week I probably slept an average of two hours a night. ... I couldn't stop thinking..." According to Ledger's former fiancé Michelle Williams, Ledger had struggled with insomnia often before. It is hard to know for sure, but if insomnia because of work related stress and insomnia, "pushed" Ledger to take the accidental overdose of medication, Heath Ledger surely deserves to be no. 1 on this list. Rest in peace, Mr.Ledger.

According to interviews and testimonies from family, friends, and costars he was ecstatic about playing the joker. He claimed it was the most fun hes ever had with a character. Then it appears drugs killed this passionate actor, as they continue to kill today. A waste of a human life. James Gandalfini after brilliantly portraying Tony Soprano. Look at him before, then after just six seasons. And that was some of the finest acting I've seen on or off the stage/screen. He morphed into Tony, and never played another role (nor did he have to, I guess) before his untimely death at age 51. Terrible loss for the industry; he was unmatched in his last role, absolutely unmatched. I see a lot of Shelly DuVall suggestions here, but I think she was absolutely terrible in The Shining and whatever's wrong with her now was wrong with her then. She just killed any chance of it seeming real (for me.)

The possession actress and the Babe actor both were pretty minor issues that they had to deal with, especially compared to people like Bale who had to become terribly underweight and he was only able to eat what amounted to a single handful (like 4oz) of food a day for weeks. I had a similar weightloss when i was younger and it makes you feel like your dead and it's hell to get the weight back on.

to me the worst case of "what could have been" was the idea of him making a sequel to the Dark Knight. the third part of the batman trilogy was good but it could have been one of the best movies of the decade with Joker 2.0
I am a history buff. I see a lot of WW1 and WW2 documentaries, and they provide a lot of info and are intriguing; but the things I see in them haunt me. Watching a graphic documentary is painful enough, so I can't even imagine how hard it must have been for Adrian Brody to immerse himself so deep in such horrific parts of history. I understand his pain.
It sounds stupid but I never recognize him in a movie until someone points him out. He seems so different to me. But the one I have the most trouble with is Cary Elwes' appearance. Did you see him in Liar, Liar? Hardly the same guy as Men in Tights or Princess Bride.
This is why actors divorce so often. They meet each other in rehearsal and fall in love with each other's characters and when the film or play is over when they stop being those characters they find that they aren't compatible or in love any longer.
All artists divorce often. Singers, Actors, Directors, models etc...It's because they both want to self realize their dreams and often put themselves over their partner. It's hard to have a time consuming career and be a good husband/father at the same time. Also famous people are often the opposite of easy going. Their ambition and not willing to settle down is what made them famous after all. Ambitious people always want more and get tired of them same partner after a while.
Just proof that acting is a much more than “pretending” to be someone. It can take a huge toll on someone who decides to become the character and push themselves to “live” the character.
The main reasons behind Heath Ledger's mental state before death were more connected to his general loneliness (read: divorce with his wife, lack of contact with his daughter etc.) than to a movie performance itself. But of course the high energy input that was required with the Joker wasn't too helpful as well.
Still don't buy it, lots of people have played the role of a psychopath and it didn't lead them to an accidental overdose. He was making the Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus when he died, how come everybody always points to the Joker as if it was the last thing he did?
FYI Heath Ledger had the best time of his life during the joker role. In the documentary I am Heath, they state there is no relation for the role leading to / impacting his death.
Just to clarify regarding Janet Leigh; she DID bathe! She just didn't take showers. She took tub baths. When she was in a situation where she had to use a shower, like in some hotels, she would lock the door to the bathroom, stand in the shower with the curtain or shower door open and facing the door during the entire shower.

I think one of the worst case would be Victor marrow. He was killed on set while filming the movie The Twilight Zone. He was decapitated by the blades of a helicopter. If you Google it you can see the actual footage from the accident and about the trial . It is a interesting story and I think that people don't remember it because it happened in 1982.

Yeah, I’m a language/grammar accent nerd and a former language teacher. It’s very hard for actors to trick me into believing they are American if they're British or Australian. Hugh Laurie was quite convincing, but every once in a while, he’d pronounce a word with a bit of British twist. Two actors have fooled me into believing they were American, however. The first one is Alfred Enoch, to whom I was first exposed in “How To Get Away With Murder”. No, I’ve never seen any of the Happy Potter movies, and I had never even seen or heard of Alfred before “HTGAWM”. The actor really did his homework before appearing on “HTGAWM”, learning and studying the regional American accent needed for the role of Wes. He pulled off a northern Ohio accent extremely well. The other actor who had me fooled was Ben Mendelsohn, who played Danny in the Netflix original series “Bloodline”. He’s an Australian actor who was relatively unknown in the U.S. at the time. While watching the show, I never had a dialectical clue that Ben was Australian. He is, in my opinion, the non-American actor who has BEST pulled off an American accent. Interestingly, the same show cast Australian actress Jacinda Barrett as a supporting character. However, Jacinda’s portrayal of Diana as an American woman was not very convincing. On a regular basis, Jacinda would lapse into the Australian pronunciation of multiple words, including when her character would say the name of Mendelsohn’s character, “Danny”.
A nice chunk of actors in The Walking Dead are Brits and Aussies, if I recall correctly. I thought that Morissey did an amazing job as The Governor/Phillip.

Apparently you don't need to be a fan of good TV series, to make one yourself. No, just really good. And there's a really good f**king reason for that!

You notice about the 6th season his accent became weird. We've been watching the reruns and they're played week nights so there's not a lot of time from the beginning of the series to the end. Watched the Pilot of SOA tonight right after watching the final episode. His accent deteriorated.

In my opinion The Dark Knight is brutaly overrated. While the Jokers performance is really good, the story is absolute shit. Example wanted: The Harvey Dent plot is ridiculous. He is the best and nicest guy you could ever meet. After that, the explosion happens and he turns into an unpredictable Killer-Maniac in like...one day...It is not even the best film in its own trilogy cause that has to be Batman Begins.
He's known as two-face before the accident because he's got this super nice guy front, but was a ruthless bastard of an investigator (not evil, but a dark and indomitable side that does not match his all-super nice charm). Before the explosion happens Harvey Dent is going around kidnapping and torturing mentally vulnerable people. He had a screw loose from the start. This mentally already deeply volatile guy with a known penchant for a darker side is mutilated while his girlfriend is horribly murdered, so he becomes a killer to take revenge on those he blames.
As far as Charlie Hunnam's accent goes, people also forget that he moved to the states at 18, so that combined with having roles in which he had to use another accent makes it understandable that his English accent would get lost.

According to Ledger's former fiancé Michelle Williams, Ledger had struggled with insomnia often before. It is hard to know for sure, but if insomnia because of work related stress and insomnia, "pushed" Ledger to take the accidental overdose of medication, Heath Ledger surely deserves to be no. 1 on this list. Rest in peace, Mr.Ledger.

The possession actress and the Babe actor both were pretty minor issues that they had to deal with, especially compared to people like Bale who had to become terribly underweight and he was only able to eat what amounted to a single handful (like 4oz) of food a day for weeks. I had a similar weightloss when i was younger and it makes you feel like your dead and it's hell to get the weight back on.

Also famous people are often the opposite of easy going. Their ambition and not willing to settle down is what made them famous after all. Ambitious people always want more and get tired of them same partner after a while.
Divorce rates are high no matter if it's artists or not. So I don't think you can conclude that it's the reason for why some actors divorce.
Just proof that acting is a much more than “pretending” to be someone. It can take a huge toll on someone who decides to become the character and push themselves to “live” the character.

Colin Firth is one of my top 10 actors. He deserved an Oscar for his performance in The King's Speech.
The main reasons behind Heath Ledger's mental state before death were more connected to his general loneliness (read: divorce with his wife, lack of contact with his daughter etc.) than to a movie performance itself. But of course the high energy input that was required with the Joker wasn't too helpful as well.

Pretending for a living is a joke. Most do it, have done it, live it or have lived it for real. Actors only pretend to be real people who have.
I had a job for about 3 months in the summer cleaning up home invasion crime scenes.....about three really bad ones, nothing can compare to the real thing, the smell is the worst part. Here's a little slice of wisdom from me; it's not a good cop movie if they don't wrinkle there noses at the smell of 24 hour blood👌

I'm sorry, I LOVE Charlie Hunnam so so much and I think he's a fantastic actor, but he is definitely NOT known for his "extraordinarily convincing American accent."

Yeah, I’m a language/grammar accent nerd and a former language teacher. It’s very hard for actors to trick me into believing they are American if they're British or Australian. Hugh Laurie was quite convincing, but every once in a while, he’d pronounce a word with a bit of British twist.
Two actors have fooled me into believing they were American, however. The first one is Alfred Enoch, to whom I was first exposed in “How To Get Away With Murder”. No, I’ve never seen any of the Happy Potter movies, and I had never even seen or heard of Alfred before “HTGAWM”. The actor really did his homework before appearing on “HTGAWM”, learning and studying the regional American accent needed for the role of Wes. He pulled off a northern Ohio accent extremely well.
The other actor who had me fooled was Ben Mendelsohn, who played Danny in the Netflix original series “Bloodline”. He’s an Australian actor who was relatively unknown in the U.S. at the time. While watching the show, I never had a dialectical clue that Ben was Australian. He is, in my opinion, the non-American actor who has BEST pulled off an American accent. Interestingly, the same show cast Australian actress Jacinda Barrett as a supporting character. However, Jacinda’s portrayal of Diana as an American woman was not very convincing. On a regular basis, Jacinda would lapse into the Australian pronunciation of multiple words, including when her character would say the name of Mendelsohn’s character, “Danny”.
A nice chunk of actors in The Walking Dead are Brits and Aussies, if I recall correctly. I thought that Morissey did an amazing job as The Governor/Phillip.

Apparently you don't need to be a fan of good TV series, to make one yourself. I still recall during one awards show how a certain really ignorant person commented that Laurie is surprisingly good at comedy, after he did a funny skit on stage. Surprisingly good?! No, just really good. And there's a really good f**king reason for that!
