Our house has been broken into twice and we have cameras and a security system. This video is exactly what I was looking for. I am a veteran and do my own business as a handyman. Didn't think about how simple this would be. Thanks man.
@DIYTechnician No doubt! I'm fairly new to the prepping community but with everything happening in this country right now - my intuitions tell me that some fortification would do wonders to appease my anxiety as it relates to the family you know? This was absolutely brilliant. Thanks again man. 🤙
I like the idea. If these are installed in the bedroom, how will you get out easily if there is a fire blocking the door? I’m thinking about building a frame with rebar that can be removed from the inside.
Your idea for your scenario sounds like it would be safer. This window is not meant for escape. You can’t see it in the video but there are easier safer ways to escape the area where these were put. So, you are correct, would be best to install something easily removable from the inside. Take care!
Well thanks. It’s more of a visual deterrent more than anything. Just makes it a little bit harder too. There are many better ways to do it or design it. Thanks for commenting. Take care.
Dude what is this, mission impossible? Nobody is going to do that 🤣 criminals look for quick and easy targets. Cutting these would take too much time and make too much noise.
@@dustinbarton9994yeah you can cut through rebar but not without being prepared with some pretty serious power tools and some time but if you have that then you can also cut through steel plate, ply wood, concrete, etc...
@@DIYTechnicianit does block a fire exit. that is something to consider as with all safety protocols. I like the no glue idea. the bedrooms in my house I'll have two windows and I can glue one and leave the other one unglued...? there's always a lot to consider but this is a great.
Smartest DIY window security system I've seen yet. Well done.
Thanks I really appreciate that.

Hope this does the trick my friend and best of luck to ya. Times are getting rough. :(
Good work. Deterrence is all that matters. Criminals only want easy. Time is everything.
That’s the hope:) thanks for chiming in, much appreciated. Take care.
Exactly what I was looking for. Thank you so much.
Glad it was helpful! You’re very welcome
Man that was WELL done 👏🏼 Nice touch with the Loctite at the end 👍🏼
Thanks my friend! Trying to increase security posture just a tad:)
@@DIYTechnician you’re definitely on the right track 👍🏼👍🏼😎

Thanks!
A very cool method and thanks for the video. How deep did you drill into the frame?
Thanks! I drilled about an inch and a half. Thanks for the comment!
In South America, they circumvent these style security bars by putting a small floor jack in-between them and jacking them wide open.
Interesting.

This turned out very nice!
Thanks!!
Doing this!
Heck yes
Game changer
Right on!!
Im in mobile home great ideal but what about a fire how would we get out
Great question. Probably not recommended for your situation.
Very cost effective. My only issue is one can cut straight thru this.

@@rayzor285 you can cut through rebar with a hand tool bro
@@dustinbarton9994 yeah a burger isn't going through the effort bro. They'll move on to an easier target. They're opportunists. Trust me I know.

Does the top hole havev to be deeper then the bottom?
No and their depth isnt that critical as long as it slides in. You going to do this?
thank you. Great
Thank you too!
This is the most simplest window bar ever seen, specifically no welding.
Thanks!! Just make sure you have a couple other ways out:)
Looks like my dog can chew through them lol
That’s one mean dog.
what about a fire?
If this is the only exit you’d be trapped
Have other exits but yes dangerous if this is it. Good question though
I’m sure if there was a fire, a person could bust a bar loose from the hole.
I like how easy this build is. but if i wanted to make it openable incase of an emergency whats an easy way to do that?
One option could be to set the bars in there without the glue so they be readily pulled out.

რა ფასში აკეთებთ დანჯრის გისოსებს
It cost around $50
Keep the criminals out good job
Been better on the outside.
Thanks for the tip
Put them on both sides if you want.
I wonder if painting them white to match the trim would also have an interesting look?
